Get the same thing from Waxamomo too! Even a nice little maoam (however you spell it) sweet thrown in! Note at the bottom of the receipt saying thanks for the order from Chris. I spent about £110 last time and he even threw in a couple of rolls of 3m blue tape too! Awsome, and great prices too! Oh, and its their 3rd birthday this w.end so use discount code "happybirthday" and you get 10% off!

Anything ignition related. Look at the contacts on the dizzy cap first, leads, check condition of plugs as they will give you an indication of problems within the combustion chamber.

Thanks Dave, yeah I went ahead and got the MT90 not long after posting anyway! Its obviously slightly heavier so I thought more protection. Thanks again mate.

Is it not just the springy contact at the back of the plug? I had it on my golf3 as it happens! I just got a small flat head screwdriver and bent it out slightly, so there was more pressure on the base of the bulb. Worked a treat for what was an intermittent issue on mine.

This happened to me when the chimps at ProTyre fitted the flat weights onto the inside of my rim. They obviously moved them as soon as I turned up complaining, but its your only real option if they do catch short of shaving the caliper.

This might be a sore subject but can any one shed any info ???

Although the C was never produced in massive numbers, it was still a "Mass produced car", therefore not really a bedroom poster kinda thing. Only cars there are ever sought after enough to do as a replica on "the cheap" are the real classic roadsters or supercars tbh. So as everyone else has said, no. -
I'm pretty sure they do iirc. Cant do any harm in running along to have a look though!

I'm about to embark on a major service and overhaul of my 1990 16v. I very occasionally encounter difficulty engaging second gear although no crunching unless I release the clutch too early! . I've looked at the Redline MT oils, and was just wondering which would be better (MTL-75/80 GL4 Lub, or MT90 GL4). Car has done approx 160k, although gearbox was a recon item at TSR in 2008 so may well be an exchange. Thanks. :pirate:

Just picked up a couple of bits for 1.8 valver. Thermostat - 056 121 113 D - £17.01! Stat O'seal - 038 121 119 B - £2.08 Stat Housing - 055 121 121 F - £7.43. Distributor seal - 027 905 261 - £10.44!! Could have picked this lot up from ECP without 25% discount from another forum for less than a tenner! On the other hand though, I have bought 2 stats in the last 3 months from ECP and both have been faulty, hence the reason I'm buying the lot from VW now! Got the dizzy seal from VW Heritage for £5.91 delivered instead.

Hard to make out on that photo. What engine?, and can you take a photo from a little further back to get an idea of where it is exactly on the block.

Cambelt for 4 cylinder is a little off too

Get em done professionally the first time round, then just keep on top of it would be my advice. There are various kits available all over the web including egay though if you really wanna put in the blood sweat and tears!

Indeed, I deffo agree with the above. I've lost count of the times I've seen fitters going in all heavy handed and clumsy, not really giving a toss as to the damage they do when removing/refitting the screens. Paint scraped off all over the place which leads to rust down the line. 9 times out of 10 its on the passanger side at the top of the screen too! :bad-words:

After a trip to Gosport and back Thursday, and a weekend at the father in laws in Banbury, a total of about 750 miles without missing a beat, I gave her a quick and deserved wash. It was only quick, cos I spent 2 days detailing it last w.end including sealing and waxing so that was all that was needed. :smug:

Should be ok to use the old one, just clean and inspect the gauze at the end of it.

Right here we go! Actually my chav blue silicon pipes make it easier to see, the one that goes from here Goes to here. You can see two of em on the left, and one on the right. The one your looking at is on the right, although the two that are on the left, go to a 2-1 splitter and it also goes into the same place slightly behind where the one your after is located. If you trace the one from here. through the splitter you will see where it will go. It will probably be easier to remove the intake pipe to put it back on. Hope this kinda makes sense mate! :thumbleft:

Give me 5 mins, battery is dead so will give it 5 to charge - should be enough for a couple of photos!

Failing on lights has gotta be schoolboy blown bulbs though surely!
-
No worries dude. It'll be hard to get a pic, as its pretty tight there but if you put your hand under you should be able to feel it. Will try if you need though mate.
-
Window control box...............?
-
Just went and had a look, and it actually connects to the bottom of the intake pipe, just before it connects to the throttle body.
-
There should be a little splitter it attaches to just behind the intake pipe to the throttle body iirc

I didn't get into the car scene until I saw a mk2 GTI on ebay for £300 in decent nick. No bidders with seconds to go so I snapped it up thinking I'd got an absolute bargain!!! Needed some welding etc for the MOT which got when all totalled cost a fair amount, but I joined forums to fix it myself. It was going to a meet through one of the forums that I had a Corrado sat behind me. I must of nearly shunted the guy in front 100 times cos I couldn't tear me eyes from the rear view mirror. I had never really noticed them before, but it was like having the most beautiful woman in the world sat in the back of your car! I was smitten from that moment forward and just HAD TO HAVE ONE!!! The fact that the missus is insanely jealous of the care and attention (not to mention the time and money spent on it!) only adds to its charm and appeal! :2gunfire::grin:

Fuel accumulator. There are rubber seals on the banjos that break down quite commonly.

It looks great from afar, up close.....................not so much!:lol:
