Oh, if the alarm or immobiliser is aftermarket then it's entirely possible that it will cause these symptoms.
-
Factory immobiliser would still allow the car to start, but would cut out after about a second. I'd say get your battery charged fully first, or disconnect it completely and try jumping it again directly onto the cables. If your battery is proper dead, even a jump won't work with it in place. Also worth trying to wiggle the key up and down in the switch whilst in position 2, as this is also an ignition switch symptom.

The article is 3 years old and is a concept. I think I remember seeing it a while back actually. Don't think it's likely to ever get anywhere near production unfortunately.
-
No Rob. It was always Classic green, evidenced by the overspray you'd expect from factory on the interior and Underside. Has the correct sticker on the inner wing by the airbox stating it too.

Tried with mine 3 times but still none the wiser. VW HQ aren't particularly helpful.

I'm free the weekend after next if that's any good mate!?
-
I would have mate, but we're taking the kids out for the day because ironically, I have to go up to Portsmouth for the week tomorrow night for a course!

The storm badge packs all arrived at the supplying dealer with those measurement instructions. They never came from the factory with the badges fitted so the only reason they'd be put in the wrong place is if they'd been removed previously, or the guy who was meant to put them on was lazy.

I know Rob, it happens and they were all accidents, but it still drives you mad! Been busy wiring up a lighting circuit this morning. All runs off an extension lead from the house, but it's nice and bright and I can put the portable electric radiators on and work late at night now too! :thumbleft:

Thanks Jez. In all honesty, I'm regretting moving back here already. I don't think it would be so bad if we were a bit more than a single Street away from the inlaws! :bonk:

Woop woop! Finally after 4 weeks I have a garage!!!! I can't believe how stressful it's been getting to this stage. Someone has opened their door onto it in the parking area on the street, one of the kids from down the road let their scooter roll into it, and my 3 year old was helping Daddy fix the car by turning a screwdriver on the rear Arch paintwork! I've tried parking it further away but don't like the fact I can't keep an eye on it, so I'm massively relieved I can now lock it away and it'll be safe! It needs a quick wash over the weekend, and maybe one last blast before I tuck it away for a while and begin stripping the Underside. Updates of worth to follow over the coming months! :thumbleft:

If it's a cheap ebay replacement just bin it mate. I had 2 faulty ones so just bit the bullet and bought a new bosch one in the end. Not cheap but sorted my problem instantly. There is a small nut covered in wax/glue, but not sure if it's for adjustment. I'm sure if it was someone would have done it before. If you want to try though, knock yourself out! Oh, and if your original is playing up, clean it all out with carb cleaner. Sometimes helps!

Knew I remembered one. Not had a look through the thread in a few years, but may give you a bit more info mate. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?46626-Black-ABF-Corrado-they-call-it-Magnum http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?89827-95M-black-Corrado-2-0-16v-with-ABF-engine-SOLD

Kr or abf cams in a 9a head for increase in power. Nothing much to do in an 8v unfortunately. I had an AGG in a mk3 Golf and they're almost identical so know the well. As mentioned, aside from cams and a remap, you're talking far more money than its worth for an abf power increase. 20vT lumps are dead cheap and offer decent value for power. Maybe drive one locally to see what they're like? I'm sure plenty on south West dubs will have em in mk2 Golf's to give you an idea and will let you have a quick go mate.

I had similar on my valver which was caused I think by the baffle in the Sump. It stands vertical and clips onto the oil pickup, and a couple of the clips had gone brittle and snapped. This was causing the baffle to temporarily starve oil when cornering. Aside from the sensors, the only other option if it's not with wiring is to try a replacement set of dials mate.

Almost - Jason Kenny then! :thumbleft:

The wires go to small contacts within the washer jets. These act as heaters and come on with the wing mirrors and rear screen when you select the rear demist button on the dash.
-
Yep, slide handbrake handle forward - there may be a retaining tab on the bottom at the back of hte handle. The cover then slides forward over the mechanism too mate.

I wish I would have kept it now tbh Rob, would have been perfect for the commute! I made it sound worse than it was in the first post(unintended). Just checked my photobucket account, and I've got more pics if anyone is interested and it looked pretty nice after I'd given it a quick machine polish. Mine was in far worse condition when I originally bought it!
-
I know what you mean mate. Not to the extent of yours, but just spent almost the purchase price doing a full service, cambelt and front pads on the crappy Pug I bought! I can't use it now either for a few days and I'm having to use the Corrado for commuting as when I replaced the drive belt, the slight bit of extra tension caused the idler pulley to start screaming like a pig! ECP/GSF etc want £80 odd for it! Febi one on ebay for £31 but wont be with me til Wednesday.

My "basic" tool kit takes up about a quarter of the boot space! lol. I always carry it in the Corrado "just in case"! Funny thing is, I've never had a fault with it in 3 years!
-
Well that was a lucky escape! Well done for investigating so quickly, I'm sure many would have written off the engine after suffering similar to this.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-VR6-AQUA-BLUE-12-MONTHS-MOT-SOLID-EXAMPLE-/182269011716?hash=item2a70146704:g:2NcAAOSwknJXzUj6 Should have held onto it for 18 months longer, would have doubled my money - Well, quadrupled it for what I originally paid actually! Ad is almost cut and pasted from the original, and there are even a couple of the original photos I put up! Doesn't look like anything has been done since I sold it either apart from servicing and a new ticket. I don't mind though, hope it sells. It wasn't a good example tbh, but solid enough and ran very well for anyone interested. Wings could do with replacing due to very slight rust, especially the one I rattle canned.

Just the bolts and drains in the 4 corners Hasan. Undo the rear ones first working forward as the rear sits on brackets either side. Saves you having to hold the whole front end up whilst removing the rear ones. Use blue 3M detailing tape. Perfect for not leaving sticky stuff behind. :thumbleft:

Not sure it'll reach to be honest. It's 2 wires though so you should be able to repair it easily enough mate.
