  1. car looks fresh, don't tint the head lamps.... leave them as they are 8)
  2. i read their site about appointments only but thought it was worth a try calling them as you never know, im hoping they reply to my email when they come in to work today as i need a set of leads asap, might have to go with the black ones strictly have in stock as the cars pretty undriveable at the moment
  3. just what i wanted to hear. strictly dubs only have the black schimmel leads in stock so i think i will try to order them from schimmel directly as the underside of my bonnet resembles a firework display so i need them soon. I tried calling them an hour ago but there was no answer so i sent them an email. Hopefully they have no issues with international orders.
  4. love it, looking like a proper c again 8)
  5. lovely work, loving the new block and the fresh fastners.
  6. cheers for the info, i'll wait for them to reply to this thread first otherwise i'll drop them a pm
  7. i know the exhaust runs along the underside of the tunnel but the heatshield is still in place, the exhaust is fitted correctly and there is adequate clearance. I just dont understands why this doesnt happen on other cars and it happens on my corrado.
  8. i'd like to see more pics ... its a nice corrado, he only seems to put the odd pic up here and there
  9. after about an hours worth of driving the centre tunnel starts to get hot, after driving for longer periods the plastic centre console around the the handbrake also gets hot. Its rather annoying in the summer as the cabin gets hot. Is this normal or is something wrong?
  10. ive already seen them for sale thanks, i want to go for the schimmel leads just need someone running them to confirm the quality...
  11. congrats, hope to see it back on the road soon
  12. i'm not expecting any extra power, just want a nice set of well built red leads that won't start arching against the head randomly after a few months. If the quality is up there with the original vw leads then im happy to go for them.
  13. i know this is another topic to add to the many other topics on here about vr6 iginition leads but theres not much on here about the schimmel leads so i thought i'd start a thread  After the 2nd hand red leads i bought recently let me down big style yesterday i want to purchase a new set of leads. I was all ready to go with the oe red vw leads untill i noticed the schimmel performance leads that you can buy for the vr6. The schimmel leads are about £20 cheaper than the vw leads and can be sourced easily through strictly dubs here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Schimmel-Performance-VR6-8mm-Ingition-Leads_W0QQitemZ130205065711QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 Are the schimmel leads a good alternative to vw in terms of quality? Or am i worth spending the extra and go with vw? i just want a good set of leads on my car that i can fit and not worry that they will deteriorate quickly. Other criteria is that they mustbe red, work with the oe lead removal tool and not be larger than 8mm so i can secure them in to the plastic engine cover guides.
  14. do you mean are they the same on both sides? I'm running 8 x 17's with et32 and 205/40/17 tyres all round, One other factor could be my ride height, it is rather low and this may have something to do with it.I've driven 250 miles today and the car's running okay, it drives in a straight line but if I accelerate it will pull to the left slightly. It
  15. yes managed to sort out the shorting issue, it was the wiring to the starter that was causing the shorting. After it was wired correctly we re connected the battery and everything was fine,
  16. Hassan nice to see you again, glad we were able to make some progress. Hope to see the car back on the road soon!
  17. i had the alignment done today, camber was fine but the car was toeing in. Now it
  18. thats pretty much everything, if you have abs you will need to unclip the abs wiring also.
  19. I never found out what the item in the picture was but i changed my abs ecu as the old one had corroded terminals and now everything works as it should.
  20. if you havent fixed it by the following weekend i could pop round and see if a fresh pair of eyes make a difference, we could compare the wiring to my car if need be?
  21. top mounts have also been changed with genuine vag replacements earlier in the year. I think im going to get in the pit and make sure everything is correctly torqued on the subframe and rack before the car goes in on the weekend to put my mind at rest.
  22. I changed the both the bushes on the control arm a few months ago, and i inspected them when i had the subframe off recently and they looked okay
  23. due to my first choice garage being too busy and the second choice garage not being able to track the car due to the ride height im going to have to wait untill next week now, on the plus side im glad i recently fixed my abs as it came in to use yesterday
