    NEW HEADLIGHTS..

If you just want to be able to see at night then an up-rated headlight loom and some brigter bulbs will do that. If your headlight lenses are particularly pitted then a new set of those will also help an awful lot too. If you are however just looking for something different then InPro do some Angel eye things which some people like, some people don't. The search is your friend - there's lots of info on all of the above on here :)

    R32 Gear Box

I am by no means an expert or know what I'm talking about, but I'm under the impression that the R32 box will fit onto a 12v VR, but the driveshafts are a different size, thus you need to change them as well... which would also mean you need to change the front hubs. So not a trivial task unless you get some bastardised driveshafts made up that were R32 size on one end and Corrado size on 't other... There are almost certainly other issues you'd need to overcome too tho.
  3. Glad you got it sorted out in the end :)

    Audi engined?

I think you can fit it, but really not sure with all the AC stuff. You shouldn't need it with that engine though - they run much cooler than the old 12v

    Audi engined?

Yup, the Corrado VR6 gearbox bolts straight on. Climate control is a whole other kettle of fish - I have a feeling that the AC compressor bracket and/or the subframe needs a bit of 'modifying' to get it to fit and wiring in Climatronic is a bunch of wiring fun.

    Braided hoses

Banjo bolts can be picked up for a quid or so each online. They come in two different thread sizes - 1.5mm and 1mm. Generally speaking, if you have early Mk3 callipers they're 1.5mm, if you have late Mk3 or Mk4 callipers, they're 1mm.

    JVC AVX Range

It'll sound good enough for the car, so don't worry about it :)

    Audi engined?

You will need the loom and ECU from the A3, as it'll make your life a lot easier spicing it into the Corrado loom - there are quite a few more sensors on the A3 engine and they're in a different place on the engine too. The Corrado manifold won't fit the A3 engine at all, you need to use the A3 manifold, the Corrado exhaust and get a downpipe to join the two made up. I'd imagine most exhaust places will be able to make you something up to fit though. The tricky bit is drive-by-wire - If you want to get that working, then you'll also need to modify the pedal box to add a few sensors on it too.

    JVC AVX Range

DVB and DAB are both compressed to buggery, so won't make much difference which you're listening to...

    Audi engined?

Yup, it's the same as the R32. You'll need to 'modify' (read bend a bit) the front engine mount to fit around the front crossmember and you'll also need a custom-made downpipe made that mates up to the Corrado exhaust. Otherwise, it's mechanically speaking, a straight swap. Electrically, you need to bodge the ECU and loom to make the thing run without the need for the Mk4 clocks and ignition barrel, but it can be done. This is just what I've picked up tho - I haven't actually done it. Ask PhatVR6 or CoxyLad (might have more a's in his name at the mo - can't remember) if you want specific info because they've both done it.
  11. I've no idea what bulbs the headlights I bought had been running, but the connector for the H4 bulb had properly melted - the metal contacts were still making a connection, but the plastic had melted the thing in place and took a fair bit of jiggery pokery to get it off the contacts.
  12. Yup, as said 'aero' wipers from a Lupo GTI. There's a knowledge base article on it here, but double check the part numbers with your dealer as they may be out of date.
  13. Yup to all Yan says, the bulbs you've got will be fine, but the illegal 100W+ ones will melt stuff. The standard headlight wiring is pants - you get 11v at best to the bulbs, but with an uprated loom you get the full 12v+ It's also an advantage because you're then not running the full headlight current through the headlight switch, so it doesn't get warm and less likely to go crunch.
  14. Have you got an uprated headlight loom? That made the biggest difference to my lights and when combined with some of the (legal) 40% brighter type bulbs you can actually see pretty well at night. Be careful with the (illegal) higher wattage bulbs tho - I bought some headlights off someone a few weeks ago and when I looked inside the plastic connector that plugs onto the bulb had melted!
  15. It says the Beetle/Golf tests were done in 1988, so I'd imagine the Golf at least was new and probably the Beetle too. The cars have the German ADAC stickers on them, so it probably the standard 50kph test they used to do. Having said that - the old tests used to drive head-on into a concrete wall, but the new ones hit and off/set block, which is a more likely situation.
  16. That's not a genuine VAG one - the genunine ones are not painted. I bought a GSF one that was also black like that and it looked like it was a re-cored original one and somewhat ropey, so I took it back and got a VAG one, which also comes with the aforementioned elbow. The radiators are available (my local dealer ordered it in - only took a couple of days). I think dr_mat's dealer has an aversion to ordering parts or is just a complete monkey tho - he seems to report parts out of stock all the time, even when they're not
  17. Reply to him telling him that the wheels do have major scratches on them, contrary to his description. Similarly, the tyres are not in 'very good condition', nor are they all Eagle F1s as described in his auction. You have requested a refund because the original and re-listed auction is misleading and the items were not as described. You see no reason why you should be out of pocket for the not unsubstantial deliverly costs for an item which was listed contrary to the ebay rules.
  18. Otherwise £15 does seem a bit steep for 3 slivers of plastic... :( The other option might be for someone to look up what needles they be that zarman used. ZippyVR6 works at a Porsche dealership, so might be able to look up part numbers if they're availabe...
  19. Ok, sadly it would appear that they're lost somewhere in the garage. Probably in the same place that my soldering gear is actually... :(
  20. They are a straight swap, but don't think they're more reliable... never know tho.

No need, I've moved it :)
  22. Who's C&R? :? http://www.candrenterprises.co.uk/parts.asp
  23. I'll have to check this evening. I have a feeling the parts may have disappeared into the dark depths of my garage, in which case you don't stand a chance
  24. I've got most of the VAG thermo housing bits still in boxes somewhere if you want them for a reasonable price :) I'll have a look to see if I've got them in the flat this evening.
  25. I'd try bigpants baby and/or peanut to see if they've got any - they're usually breaking a Corrado or two.
