  1. I did mine with the expensive 2-part Foliatec stuff that comes with brake cleaner (also useful for cleaning your MAF  ) It sticks like nothing I've ever seen and only took the one coat to look super glossy and thick. But then it was £14 or so... :? And yeah - if you do use Hammerite follow the instructions and put a second coat on within 4hrs of the first otherwise you'll get a crap finish.
  2. I think he should maybe stick to drivetrains and engine tuning and leave the "styling" to someone who can see
  3. Having a quick google, I'd go with Bendy - Brock B3s. The BBS RKII's are miiiighty close, but the spokes are just a fraction skinnier.

    Roof Strips

Sweet they do headlight lenses without having to buy a whole unit at 70 odd euros a side - wahoo! ECP do headlight lenses... or if you ask me nicely, I've got a pair ;)
  5. It's also worth mentioning here that it's a very bad idea to take your car on a track with a nice new set of tyres - use the day to kill the old ones and get them changed before you drive home. If you thrap road tyres with more than 6mm or so of tread then it's highly likely that you'll rip the tread blocks clean off the tyre. Even if you don't, the tyre will have a fair bit more flex in it and not feel as responsive as it would on semi-balds :)

    JVC AVX Range

Er no idea... more signal probalby won't hurt tho :) With digitial you've either got it or you haven't so after a point it doesn't matter how big your aerial is... unless you go overloading the receiver, but you'd need a massive antenna to do that  Sigh, yet another example of "digital just good enough" replacing FM "really **** good if you get good kit" .. Yup. But then let's be honest - FM isn't all that great anyway, especially when you consider most radio stations compress (analogue) the broadcast a lot anyway... HDTV has a chance of possibly being quite good though...
  7. Oooh now that should be pretty cool! Obviously lots of piccytures will be needed on your return :)
  8. How strange. Would have been even funnier if it was a Robin pulling another one tho...
  9. And worth adding that if you scrub 'em off by too much your tyres will start delaminating and you'll die. Possibly.
  10. Er the metalwork in the bumper is structural and the whole chassis will flex without it bolted on... :(
  11. The wheel and tyre bible has been linked to in the wiki for years... ;)

    Audi engined?

Make sure you read it all though as people change their minds and/or clarify things later on :)

    Update...

    Looks very nice Dave! :)
  14. It's also worth noting that most tyres have little arrows on the edge of the tread - these can be used to check your tyre pressures. If you scrub 'em off then put your pressures up and/or back off a bit through the corners because the tyre is flexing too much and you're scrubbing the side of the tyre away.
  15. That's some very sucky news :( Sadly, that's definitely a write-off as the chassis is bent - I don't think the sunroof will work again either as it's probably bent. Glad to hear you walked away fine though - goes to show how well made the old girls are :) As Jim says - start collecting some adverts of similar cars to prove how much it's worth and be prepared to fight the insurance company for a decent pay out.
  16. Mmmmmmm me like a lot! :norty: Thank you very very much for doing this!! Can I be super anal and suggest using the Neuropolitical font for the titles etc? Then it'll be all co-ordinated like with the logo :)
  17. They're probably not expensive from VAG too...
  18. Ooooh, very good tip! I might have to give that a go...

    R32 Gear Box

Yeah, when I said the gearbox will fit - I meant it'll fit to the VR block - no idea about mounting it to the car tho.
  20. I've had mine for nearly 3yrs and still haven't fitted them
  21. Hah good stuff! Must be pretty nerve wrecking making the first incision to cut out the boot floor!
