Nice thread on the 02M fitment. Should work for G60's and valvers too as the gearbox is identical. Only issue would be those already raised by the vortex thread, i.e. the driveshafts and the front and rear mounts.
-
Yeah some very interesting reading even if it is all in the context of a chevy V8 block, good lot of pros and cons that apply to all parts of most engine systems, cam info for FI is very good indeed. ..spent sometime looking for an uprated water pump may spend some more now.

Link to the superchargers document came up on the 16vg60 yahoo group but the rest of the articles on here are also very good reading for novices and experts alike. Tech Articles

Blimey bit of a mess! Decided against the VR route then?
-
I think it is due to recognition of the GTi brand, however it is not like the mk.III is the pinacle of the brand though. As for Corrados they are fairly steathly I suppose and most people don't know what a scirocco is let alone a Corrado!

Holy thread resurrection Batman!
-
Orange!? Must be a later thing, can't see one on my valver.
-
Bonus! Went out and bought another pack anyway, useful to have one per 'rado! 'Look at me, I'm driving!' ;)
-
VR ones are fine no problems at all as all the Corrados use the same inner structural wing. The outer wings do differ but it is not a problem. Make sure you get new bearing bushes too, the earlier mount has these built in but the VR setup it is a separate item. Oh and to be really anal they are not VR top mounts, late 16v and 8v 'rados had the same top mounts as standard too.

Nice one Phat, be good to see how this pans out. I do agree with Kev though, both my shifters are fine and work well. The valver did not have the weighted shift mod on it when I bought although the previous owner did have all the parts required to make it work. Made on hell of a difference fitting that!

Problem is that the 30+ billion that is taken from road users every year in various taxes (think thats just fuel duty and road tax, not the VAT made on all car parts purchased, reg plates, etc, etc) very little is invested in maintaining the road network. Although I did read an article about a year and a half ago in auto express (I think) that quoted a local council as putting by around 10-20% of thier annual road maintenace budget, to enable them to pay people who are claiming for bust suspension, buckled alloys etc. To be fair the motorways are pretty good and some of the trunk roads are as well but anywhere in or around towns and B roads are a right bloody state. Although I do believe that any firm that digs roads up should have to resurface completely, not just fill in. I usually find that the likes of Transco/BT/Water companies make a much bigger mess, and it always seem to be around where I want to place my nearside wheel too!

Ouch that is a bloody con!

Eh? VR takes 6 litres with an oil and filter change, does it not? 4.5 litres in big can and 1 litre in little one = 5.5 litres or half a litre short... Anus!
-
It is not that special an order, so don't let them try to make you think that they are doing you a huge favour. Stuff is shipped from Germany on a regular basis and is usually referred to as being on 'back order'. Seems to happen to me everytime I order stuff these days!
-
Sorry not clear in my original post comes free with a 4.5 litre can of magnatec, so usual prices for those. Think I paid £25 for 10W40 for 'modern' engines. Still 1/2 a litre short of a VR oil change though!!!
-
Yup but then I swear a lot anyway - not proud of it just tend to use f instead of saying err. I blame my work environment... As for the f****** w****** in the s***** s*** micra in front of me doing 45mph then no, not really ;) Although I have found the VR to be more, er, theraputic, when it comes to removing these issues.

No that was some Yank I think.

Now whilst I normally put synta silver in I did notice this lot in Halfords today. It is the get 1 litre free option but you get a back with velcro on the back so it would look tidy in the boot of a C and just stick to the boot carpet. You also get a couple of funnels, dipstick wipes (tissues), handwipes and a couple of poly bags to put the rubbish in - very civilised!! Took a pic below:

heh love the line about it being a golf r32 in the pic. Shame the original thread is locked now.
-
Got it, try now.

Linkage to a couple of Hamster crash pics: Second one looks a bit ropey - probably all in less than a second or so too. Crash Pic 1 Crash Pic 2 Ah crap - I still cant shorten links then.. hang on!

Nothing, except for an entry I posted for my Triumph!

Don't do it Stan, especially after all the work that has gone into your car. The big problem with modern mass market production cars is that there are some many electronic widgets on them that you, as a driver, are too remote from the driving experience in my opinion. As such new cars are all about A to B travelling and not driving. As for costs, got to agree with everyone else, you might think your C is expensive but at least you know where you are with it - maintenace wise. A 'new' car is only going to have some gremlins in it somewhere, that may cost you a fortune and a full service history aint worth the paper it is written on - just ask NickVR6 about his 'regular brake fluid changes..
