  1. Aside from a fuel supply problem (which could be electrical) it could be the fuel pump relay, its a more a guess rather than anything else but as it is only happening under high lateral loading..
  2. Have you tried filling the petrol tank to see if it still does it yet? Does the car have the same problem when hitting bumps in the road or is it just hard cornering? Is it left hand, right hand or both types of cornering? As you have a 93 VR I guess its a distributor model not a coilpack type?
  3. 35 and still own my first Corrado, a G reg valver, which I bought in Jan 2004 - I am only the 2nd keeper on that car though.. Since owned another 3 (2 VRs and a G60 so I feel I am well placed to comment on the best bits of both platforms) two of which are sat on the drive, not bothered about owning a 2l valver but an 8v would be interesting.
  4. I have a nugget G60 if you are interested.. Good to see the love back for VR though.
  5. I have one buts its out of your budget a touch and 50% of the T is missing..
  6. If you do break it can I get first dips on the ABF engine please. Oh and any pics of the stand alone charger oil feed? (First dips on that too)
  7. Needs a lot more than that looking at the pictures! If the rear number plate plinth and light clusters have been off for any time then the boot will be full of water as well.
  8. Its not only that, I suspect in the current Ring tourism has dropped off quite a bit through the sheer cost of fuel etc.. Oh well if it does go down the pan I will have some happy memories of it.
  9. If you run winter tyres in summer (or outside of their operating range) the compound gets too hot and wears out the hard edges of thread blocks. As this is one of the factors that makes winter tyres effective in the cold then by using them in summer they don't work well when you need them again.

    Ouch!

Christ, lucky buggers! Seems not all Greeks are broke then...
  11. Blimey Karma has worked for a change! Good to hear this was a nice result and it just goes to show that careless talk etc..
  12. Got a G60 for sale in yellow if you are interested... Only other thing to add is that there is a World of difference between the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinders models in terms of handling, the 4 cylinder cars are much more nimble through the twisties and the front end does not wash out as much as the VR around roundabouts.
  13. Do a search on google for dual metallising as this is the process that is used to coat the headlight reflectors, there is a guy in the Birmingham area that was charging around £85 a headlight a couple of years ago.
  14. Sam, sorry for the delay and you have a PM. As already mentioned this is normal and I have found the correct bolt if you need it.
  15. Press cars on a F reg back in 1988, more in common with the pre-production stuff than the ones that actually were available to order later on that year.
  16. Nice boss! Rear arches stayed the same throughout the Corrados production in terms of width and the diifference between early and late front arches is only around 10mm and very hard to spot. You can get brand new early arches from VW classic parts and I believe that as they are now listed on the classic parts system and authourised insurance repair now has access to those parts (even if we still can't order them from the main dealers!)
  17. That's just rubbish, I always admired your car when we both used to go to more shows. Makes me even more inclined to run a forward and rear facing camera in the car in incidents just like this.
  18. Those stats are going to be accurate, although you need to add the number on the road to number that are SORNed. They are sourced from the DVLA and as it is very very unlikely that any Corrados were parked up prior to the SORN rules coming into effect then all the current Corrados that are registered (V5) will be listed. Just a touch under 800 G60s still in the UK IIRC so they are very rare, the 8Vs are rarer still but given they only made a handful in the first place and they were only sold for around a year there are a lot more left. As for the old Storm VR6 stuff, the Storms were never marked as Storms on the V5 details, this is just a few owners sending a change notice into the DVLA and getting Storm added to the V5 so its not accurate. There are still some 4576 V5 carrying Corrados as of the back end of last year, thats not bad for a total initial figure of around 10,000 cars imported into the UK. Of the 8vs there were only around 260 imported and 162 remain so they have faired better than the G60 which had around 1780 cars imported and now only 763 remain.
