and mine when I read the advert. The problem with this is that 50k could be a job lot of 5 mile trips, you will get a heck of lot more bolster wear on this type of use than a 100k car that has been on 100 mile motorway runs..

That would be correct..

Ah the fens, not a fan of that location having spent a number of weeks on various courses there over the years. I had to hire a van last time I got posted, they wouldn't take half my spares or the engine - it was on a stand so would have been easy to shove on the lorry!

North or South?

Is this a direct attack on Corrado Forum values?
Yandards replied to Wullie's topic in Off-topic Chat
I will still consume Bacon and other Pork products - this is a slanderous campaign by people who don't like Bacon and is full of lies and misinformation. -
It's the later VRs (M chassis year) and the last production year of the 4 cylinder powered cars that got the higher suspension. The reason was the VW fitted 'lateral force comensating' springs to improve ride quality.

I though he was going to say he was getting married to Steve... Good to see you are not dead!

I bloody hope not, it looks like its had an impact with a Japanese stick on tuning shop!

Except for some clocking.. :)

Balls on that one. Alarm fitting chimps closely followed by idiots who don't know how to fit head units are the reasons most Corrados rattle, the very early cars had extra foam blocks inserted in the space behind the centre console to furthur reduct noise. I think the points to take away from this thread are: Cars are worth what someone will pay for them. Condition is king on an older vehicle.

Sorry Dec bit too low really.

I have a set of G60 BBM brand metal boost pipework, this has 2 extra joins where I cut a section off to accomodate my charge cooling setup but I am supplying a section of silicon hose to join the pipework back up - the join will be located out of sight as it is down towards the intercooler. For those that don't know anything about this set of pipes it is still available from BBM link here You will need an RSR outlet kit of similar to be able to use this set of pipes and I have resprayed mine in satin black to make them look more OE in the engine bay, this is a very well made and solid set of boost pipes that don't leak like the plastic ones and as an added bonus you will be able to fit the gearshift weight which massively improves the feel of the gear shift operation. There are some scratches and marks on the paintwork as would be expected of a set of tubes that have done around 20k but there is only one small patch of rust that will need a little bit of treatment. I am including a brand new set of jubilee clips to make the fitting easy as the old ones were a bit tired. This kit will cost you over £250 new from BBM before shipping and import duty, I am asking for £100 plus postage (should be around the £10-15 mark).

Edition 38..who's coming?
Yandards replied to MedwayCorrado's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Make sure you don't leave any centre caps on your wheels when you park up for the day. -
It's not leaking its designed to do that. The ECU starts to bleed boost air back to the return side from around 5k to enable a smoother cut in for the rev limiter to prevent damage to the charger. As I have said many times before and JMC has touched on, high boost does not necessarily equal good performance, a tweaked head will reduce boost through more effiecient flow and different boost pipework and an intercooler will also have a similar impact. Performance is all about CFM or airflow through an engine, upping the boost pressure is one way of achieving this but it is a little crude.

Or not.. :) Strange that the ebay specs list this interior as a 2.9, manual petrol with EDL as well!
-
Best bet is a Carcoon or similar. As Kev says to properly dehumidfy a garage it really needs to be sealed against internal drafts etc.

su_nioj on ebay does a delivery service, you get a before and after flow rate printout. -
How do you know when it's time to sell the Corrado?
Yandards replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Meh, if it purely comes down to money then now is not a good time to sell frankly, and as you said 1.5-2l is not a huge amount for a deposit. I am going through similar thoughts myself, got a G60 I can't shift and VR that has had quite a lot done to it mechanically (it was bought for Mrs Yandards) and a 16vG60 that still needs an ECU map sorting. None of them are on the road right now and they are mostly just getting in the way, no real intention to sell the 16vG60 but right now I have no incentive or love for it either. So I guess I am just saying that Corrado ownership does tend to suffer from mood swings! -
Does this count as a problem? Wheel history..
Yandards replied to bristolbaron's topic in General Car Chat
Indeed. A set on each car, a set of RMs in pieces and a set of spare of G60s that I bought six months before I found the brand new ones on ebay. -
Read what Dragon Green said, any non-hump rear bench has the bracket for a first aid kit - they all left the factory with it so someone might have removed it prior to you getting the car.

Yandards' Nugget G60 - gone but not forgotten..
Yandards replied to Yandards's topic in Members Gallery
Nope still got it Baz, it needs an MOT but not had the time to get one booked. I think its just the location, I am not asking silly money for it and its a good solid original car. -
Yandards' Nugget G60 - gone but not forgotten..
Yandards replied to Yandards's topic in Members Gallery
Hi Martin, No I don't remember unfortunately and I can't find anything online - shame as the company made a range of this type of gauge and its well put together. -
Again.. Hope you don't get the urge again this time Gareth and it has gone to a very good home (1st refusal if he sells it again perhaps?)

I do wonder just how much substance abuse goes on in the UK and then someone post something like this, this fella has been taking lots and often to have those opinions about that piece of crappola.

Book figure is used with the BTS disconnected, idle of 800 rpm +/- 50 rpm and a dynamic timing at 2000-2500 rpm of 4-8 deg BTDC (I aim for 6 BTDC at 2250). Only then should you be looking for a CO figure of 0.7 be used as at this point the ECU is in dumb mode and the lambda values are ignored.
