I know this will get locked immediately.... perhaps not....

this has got to be one of the fastest growing threads in a while....... i caught it on the first page yesterday - it's almost as prolific as the chocolate bar thread!!!!!!!! :) -
...do you want one then?? ...and yes, they are - std gearstick is like mixing in a nbig bowl with a wooden spoon, by comparision - its the first thing i've done to every corrado i've had as i hate the std gearstick range of movement
-
veedubs used to do them up here but they often failed due to the method they used - i modify the original equipment and it retains all, if not more strength of the original and is obviously all oem fitment etc and causes no issues - ever
-
no - sounds like something dodgy i've done loads of quickshifts using std gearstick and they've all been perfect, just shorter and tighter :) if they've cocked it up, the base of the gearstick mech or the control rods can catch/scrape etc. Likewise slackness to the right i have seen with a poor mod i only know these things cos i've modded many sticks and know the pitfalls and the best way to achieve good results. if all else fails, i could probably sort it for you but you'd have to post it p and it'd trial fit it in my car
-
all short shifts work the same way by changing the pivot point of the lever so for less movement above the pivot point, you get more below. when you ask would it work the same as a kit, well personally, i feel you're better off with std oem equipment, modified as opposed to "a kit" additionally, i can vary the length of shortness, or should that be shortness of shortness? :) How long? time wise, if you can send me your gearstick, I'll post one back the same day, so in theory, 2 day turnaround - depending on the royal mail,of course. Chilly was, nosky is, and i am running quickshifts I make and they have been utterly reliable and trouble free for years now
-
if you're shifting too quick, the shrt thros is clashing the synchro of the box - try shifting slower to see if the noise is there - if not - its the synchro so slow your changes
-
your std gearstick can be converted and I've done many already. I can do you one for £50

i fail to see why you feel this thread would be locked as it "defies te laws of physics" Are the mods now physics police??? -
australia?? upside down - Tourists?? Well, i thought it was SLIGHTLY witty.... ....obviously if he got beat by the bike......

twas me - a speed camera mobile or otherwise, has to be preceded by a sign within 1/2 mile of its location. so this anti terrorism thing then - does it identify turban-headed extreme muslim/al-qaeda types and blow them off the road coxy??
-
are they blue? are you familiar with the traffic master thingys that feed back traffic/jam info to the traffic master netwrok etc??? if they were specs, there'd be 2 and would have a yellow backplate as warning like std speed /safety (NOT) camera's

i think the cost, greater difficulty, cost, weight etc of a chargecooler setup outweigh its advantage or would prohibit most people taking this route when the fmic is "relatively" easier, cheaper, etc....
-
8) 8) 8) 8) - bearing in mind, that was stationary in stealth and the cooling would be far more when moving - hopefully i'll get round to putting on an inlet air temperature gauge in one of the blanked holes on the schimmel. i can't imagine getting a bigger cooler on - certainly without changing the std bumper
-
...confused yourself - you had me dizzy there (pun intended :) ) trying to work out what you were arguing with yourself about........ 8)
-
its only once in every 4 years guys!!! - strangely, i've always found myself in a minority in liking cars and liking/playing fitba. Nearly everyone i know in car circles is not interested in football and vica versa........... i feel a poll coming on - who actually likes both football and cars/modyfying etc??????
-
i can get away with a few posts while serving notice but going out and pulling my engine apart might raise a few eyebrows...... ....and i'm not worried about the volume of your posts - you look after that quite well yourself wires - you've typed enough to stretch to schimmel and back x10 over me thinks - i bet you go through keyboards and finger ends the way most go through toilet paper 8)
-
got a new job :), possibly can get intercoolers made up...
H8RRA replied to H8RRA's topic in General Car Chat
i'll see you there then - cheeky git  a mcdonalds intercooler, eh?! I quite like mine as it is - its got a lurverly smilie face now -
heads are easy anyway - wouldn't worry
-
been sort of head-hunted - gives you a good feeling to be wanted :) May be able to get intercoolers made to order as a spin-off
-
surely you can enjoy a bit of both? everyone seems to want to pidgeon-hole themselves into "serious, documentary" type or "Dumb-down, crash tv" type. Well, I enjoy a bit of both but don't always want to be watching dry documentaries but enjoy many and also like a bit of dumb-down tv when you see what idiot, cliched nutcases get up to when locked up together trying to rip each other apart (mind you, darren gough dancing or martin platt ice-skating is one step too far for me.) Variety is the spice of life. BTW, not quite up to the standard of kev "the wire" for prolific posting (how many on this thread kev 8) ) but as i've got a new job and handed in my resignation, I feel free in posting more frequently now :)

its a comedy show as much as a car show - the likes of fifth gear have supposed experts with more "traditional" report features but i like top gear because it is the way it is - just a group of petrolheads having a laugh. do you really want to know how good your car is at football!? or do you accept it for the reason the feature was put together - a bit of a laugh and doing things that you'd love to do but can't. i personally didn't miss the irony in the discussion about the traction control but i think some people have. the complexity of the system and the overall ability of prodrive in producing such a system that would baffle the average punter was the point of that clip that clarkson is being derided for. ...i mean really, what was the value of car winter olypmics and ski-jumping, rocket propelled mini's???!!! - i'm really disappointed there wasn't more detail of the type of rocket fuel used to propel the mini and an in depth analysis of the ski's & the angle of attack of the mini when airborne etc. blahblahblha 8)
-
kev, i have a passat/corrado bodywork factory manual and theres a lot of similarities/ identical parts
-
how much would you pay for that training session with jackie stewart!!!!!!
-
No doubt everyones watching top gear - that prodrive p2 thingy - my car sounds exactly the same-if not a little louder - my car is offically a squirrel-eating, squirrel-mincing monster!!!! Hope to get some professionally produced footage done in the next few weeks for some entertaining footage for y'all SQURRELS BEWARE!!!!!!!!! :x :x :x
-
its in progress with mine.... will hope to post it soon :)
