  1. as chris says i have passat handles and subsequently spare corrad handles complete - the passat handles have more leverage to unlock the door mechanism and therefore i wold suggest are less prone to failing - you do have to replace the door lock as well tho but once they're modded - which i have done and will be doing to suplpy as complete kits - they just bolt on either way, i have std and passat set-ups - pm me if you-re interested
  2. she got to drive a ferrai for winning the lap times and crashed it into a people careier trying to avoid the porker
  3. i always thought the blonde was a bit wild - and she certainly is!!! - my kinda girl (probably jus the same in the bedroom ;) )
  4. wire them to his gonads - that should get anyone started again!!!!! OUCH!!!!!!!
  5. ...told you he'd be back with the details & verbal diaohrea once he felt okay ;)........ obviously back to normal then...... 8)
  6. just the sort of mod that may help me out, mr cox. we'll have to get together and have a mastcylinder/moonroof/heatermatrix/radiatorhose exchange/swap/fit party !! :) i'll bring the sunroof and probably nosky, you can get the coffee on and maybe a defibrillator close at hand
  7. chilly, he was officially dead - AGAIN - heart stopped with adrenozine for 6-10 beats i'm informed. like a heart reboot/jumpstart. you mention he was web designing saturday morning - he was at mine till about 730pm and seemed fine!!!!! i'm sure he'll be on giving all the gory details as i got yesterday - must've been on the phone for over an hour. ...and just to top it off, when he got back home snug and warm, we broke off our conversation to watch top gear and i get a phone call 20 mins later from chris saying ".......GOD just isn't on my side - i'm sat watching top gear and the powers gone off across the whole estate!!!" He actually seemed more pished about this than his hospital trip and heart stopping (literally) escapades!!!!!!!!
  8. i got a txt from chris at half past midnight after he got to hospital - just so everyone knows how serious it was in case theres any doubt, he'd asked me if he didn't make it to let everyone know where he was and what had happened to him. certainly a scary txt message and had a long conversation with chris about what things to do to improve his health. as many people have said, not as if chris is old - and boy, does it hit home hard when something like this happens to someone your own age, let alone that you've known for 30 years.
  9. well, coxy, i'm even more pissed you didn't giver me a shout now and i would have been able to view all of these highly controversial events....... next time, eh...
  10. thanks - and thanks for the pic of your manifold - i took the "easier" option.... ;)
  11. wooosh!!!! hmmmm, coxy, methinks you want to go AWD - tha is mental. btw kev, my pc runs the vid fine
  12. well, here's a vid from the rolling road day at stealth - not the best quality but believe me, the noise was loud and scary - turn up the volume and enjoy..... vid from stealth1 vid from stealth2 vid from stealth 3
  13. i actually blew up the whole plastic thing when using the engine prior to my curent one. Just took it out altogether and bridged the pipes. Probably not the best solution but it never caused me any problems.
  14. this is a pointless discussion - we can all point to those that have switched from one brand to another - corradovr5nos - james - had a vr - got a scooby and now has another vr cos he missed it so much as far as i understand. trippy has had many ricer's but hankers sfter another charged vr and i'm sure there's many more. it works both ways
  15. you DARE and you can guess where I'll stick the biggest snorkel I can find!!!!!!!! :x
  16. got to admit kev, the word was meant to be SKULDUGGERY but seeing as you like it, I'll leave it 8) As far as the bumper goes, it aint that bad and with the monstrous fmic, i'm surprised it ended up staying on at all. After encouragement from the coxy-one, i stuck with the standard bumper as i never really wanted an rs bumer anyway - prefer the std/stealth look - theres really nothing wrong with a std 'rado - despite equal pressure from nosky to go rs bumper - very glad i stayed standard and it was worth the great amount of work that went in. For those that are asking about spec/front of engine etc, info will follow but its not nitroused (yet) and is 330bhp with 311lb ft torque  (eye-popping, it is), as detailed in the supercharger thread. there is a lot more to come depending on how far i decide to take it - engine development is not complete and i have multiport nitrous but struggling to justify it at the mo. more info to follow......
  17. Having been hanging around here for an awfully long time and having had 7 "H8RRA's", thought it was about time i started putting some info into the members gallery. For those that don't know, my nickname, derived from my surname, has been adopted by my car over the past few years since getting this number plate. I'll be diggin out some pictures as and when I can but as a starter for 10, here's the latest H8RRA as she is presently.... There's a fair bit of skulduggery going on under what is mainly a standard outward style and hopefully I'll be able to add details soon. 8) Before i started to rub down.... ...after :( ..do you ever wish you didn't start something ...!!!
  18. here's mine - cooler and bay. During.... Finished....... bit of weight reduction and tinnies and bottles removed 8) excuse the dodgy wing - whole car needs respraying
  19. we ;) secrets get out quick, eh.... with that setup, i haven't experienced any noticable slip after sourcing the 7 rib belt as well. pulley size is trial and error i'm afraid kev as its hard to predict with your setup. All i can offer you is custom made pulleys to whatever diameter you want. And on the topic of square engines, all i meant was squarer than it is, not totally square. Still want the capacity but "more square" will get that top end power. In all honesty, it just becomes a game chasing higher bhp for the sake of it. It doesn't honestly need any more power. Anyway, as i mentioned on the phone, here's some quick shots of the business end of the engine as it progressing with the tidyup exercise - camera phone only at the mo, i'm afraid - and a video which for some reason hasn't got sound????
  20. yep - its noisy initially to a degree that i thought it was faulty but this is totally common - you're right about the kits - not exactly great fit and things like the belt alignment should be easy - mines spot on now after i dimmed th pulley myself - not hard really is it.. ;)
  21. Never known the head to need trimming - maybe you got an odd head, james? 8) when I got the pulleys made, i reduced the size of the boss by 0.8mm so the belt now lines up - i'll by trying the smaller pulleys on chris's car so we should be able to establish roughly what psi you'll get dependant on DIA. As you know, i have spare pulleys as well.
  22. its had a 500 mile trip - everything else works great - i might be wrong but i don't think its that.
  23. finally got a map to be proud of yesterday - i've always regarded Vince and Stealth very highly, but the time and expertise put in for the map yesterday was unbelievable and I honestly believe the expertise and dedicaton to getting the best from a car and producing the best map available would be hard to find elsewhere. Thanks a lot Vince - for everyone who already knows Stealth, I can only reinforce their reputation and for everyone who doesn't, be assured your car would be in safe hands. Quotes of the day. before first run Vince " Watch the gauge (KW gauge for rollers) - if we get to 140, we're doing really well!!" after first run with guesstimate map to 5000rpm "F*&KING HELL!! 193KW!!!!!" Vince " If it gets any higher, we'll be out of range and that'll be it, can't complete the map!!!" "I've only rough mapped to 5000rpm, we'll see what we get - 324bhp!!!!, for a first run partly-mapped run!" second run "58bhp!, wheres the power gone!!!!!!" (Frantic panicking by all!!) - Blew the intercooler pipes off......... ;) 12 runs later, after - spraying sticky stuff on the rollers to stop wheel spin - lashing the front, back and over the slam panel and anywhere else we could tie the car down - blowing the extrator box, pipe and weight across the room etc... oodles of torque due to the crank and manifold but not as much additional bhp as we initially expected as all the power is below 6000 with this crank - where you want it really. Gave us a shock as a first run of 324, we were expecting mapping up to 6800rpm and getting 350bhp!!! But a fantastic, smooth, linear, VERY torquey map - majority of power and torque below 5500 so no need to rev the engine. Superb result. Mods - how can i post 3gp vid on the thread? i've uploaded to photobucket but theres no sound? 331.1bhp @5884 311.2lb ft @5150
  24. Corrado been in the garage for a while and now that it up and running again, the passenger door won't unlock!!!! The button moves on the central locking but not far enough and I cannot pull it up manually. ALSO - I have passat handles so suggestions of using the key won't work. Any idea's chaps??????? :x
