On the early 16V 1.8 KR there is an idle temp sender that goes into the side of the head beneath the water pipe, green and red wire comes out of it. I had terrible trouble with idling until I found this switch was gone, my car would start from cold idle around 1200 then race to 2-3000 RPm the minute things would get a bit hot. Since I’ve replaced this switch It hasn’t idle’d over 1100Rpm

I like the look of it (This week!) Engine bay is nice where did you get the braded line coming out of your power rhor ?
-
Later spoiler control modules are different to the earlier modules (Pin type modules) but externally they are the same.

Lupo wipers look and work much better. I guess you get what you pay for, I believe you can save a few quid by getting non VW wipers but you’ll need the arms which cost around £50 a pair.
-
Have you tried cleaning out your ISV? I’ve mentioned this before and found it helped when I was having such trouble with my early valver. New HT leads might help things also.

Nice job I like the wheel, what kind of fiddling is involved to get that on?
-
Ok has anyone retro fit other VW/Porsche/Audi steering wheels on their Corrado? Is there such thing as a hub adaptor for the job? Im not worried about airbags more about fitting the wheel I was looking at TT/RS6/Porsche/M3CSL wheels also would any of these be any easier?

Did it come out the factory as a 3.2 auto or a 2.9 auto?
-
Silver would be less chav me thinks

A couple of rear headrests would make a big difference. Nice work, you’d pick up a set of these seats much cheaper than recaros & much less wear/age on them. A good upgrade even to get the front 2 seats and retrim the rest. Manual would be the way to go less hassle with electrics. Are the fronts heated?

178k last time I checked

Id budget for a couple of bushes when doing the changeover undoubtedly you’ll find 1 or 2 in rough shape. It might be an idea to fit polly bushes if your budget allows as your existing bushes will take more punishment with coilovers.

bonnet? I thought all late bonnets + wings were the same?
-
I found petrol quite good for shifting grease+ oil (be careful of plastic wiring etc)

As Henny says best off to do the disks while your at it, you can get them cheap enought from GSF.

Perhaps 5*100 doesn’t have this same issue but from experience the early valvers 4*100 have short wheel nuts that can be dangerous when fitting aftermarket wheels.
-
At the time I thought someone had a go at my wheels but having heard a few other stories of lads loosing wheels on their Cs it made sense.
-
Mate whatever you do get longer nuts when putting different BBS wheels on your car. I lost a wheel on my early valver last summer just a week after putting on a set of BBS RX. Luckily it went up into the arch and I wasn’t going that hard. I used the original nuts which were a few mm short for the job. I replaced all the nuts with longer ones & got a new set of locknuts (they were the only nuts keeping the other 3 wheels on the car) they weren’t cheap (for nuts that is) but I wouldn’t leave it to chance comparing the two there is a good 10 - 15mm in the difference.

ABS, MK4 rear calipers.....I need someones help tonight!!
Baz2004 replied to mrbeige's topic in Drivetrain
DOT 5.1 is race track stuff not that easy to get & a bit advanced for what you might need. Unless your stopping a V8 or serious heavy V6 using 4+Pot calipers then I wouldn’t bother with it. Normal DOT 4 is well capable of the job + far less expensive than the DOT 5.1. As far as I know 5.1 needs to be changed more frequently also. Good info RW1 ill be printing that off for my archives. :) -
How low is your current setup? Koni coilovers are not cheap & you’d want to be sure to get use of them, if you intend to track the car then it would be a good investment otherwise TAs with H&Rs are well up for the job of everyday driving. You could sell these of course to fund new coilovers you would still need to shell out a few quid for them.

Nice work, I T-Cut my tornado red C last summer came up well. You have to be careful though I managed to cut down to primer in a couple of spots on my bonnet. I’m getting the bonnet + wings re sprayed once I have it back on the road, I might even do the rear badge in red :) !

The RS2s were factory BBS option for the Bora 5X100 16s, they are on this website http://www.carprices.dk/vw.html Was the ani mrk 3 4X100? That would explain them being on a carbio. Are these non VW RXIIs available in 16s? I always thought these were like the LMs starting at 17 or 18s. Even so I doubt either (LM/RSII) are available 4X100. It makes no difference really 16’ mrk 3 RS2 splits are what I’m after.

I saw these 16' RS2s (splits) on a bora before They also come on mrk 3 cabrios I guess they have updated the look and name to RSII
