If it was a Lightening model then dont feel too bad, its got something like a 5litre superchrged V8 that makes over 400bhp. There is a red one in the Glasgow/Edinburgh area thats just like the one in the attached pic.

Ive just got some BrownBread for the doors in my C. i was under the impression that I would have to fit it on the inside of the outer door skin but on the box it shows a pic of a door where it has been fitted in place of the waterproof membrane. :? Where should it be fitted?

Mine are concealed behind the shelves (think youve got kneebars or something there). There might also be space to mount them behind the kick plate in the footwells, weve got the abs module there in the passenger side but I think the other side should have space.

I used new wiring so wasnt restricted by the factory stuff. One of them is strapped to a wiring loom under the steering wheel area with cable ties and the other is similar except under the glovebox, I never intended on leaving them like that but it keeps them out the way and they dont rattle so it will do for now

Do you have any water leaks in your C, if the water is coming in through the heater vent area it can get into the abs controller and cause all sorts of strange problems.

Could it be a firewall problem? When I first ran Bentley, ZoneAlarm asked if I wated to allow JREW access to the internet, it came up with an error until I allowed it.

The door handle has a removable section that prises off with 2 screws behind it, the handle to open the door has a surround that slides off, maybe a screw behind this as well. Theres a few screws round the edge and possibly underneath and there a screw hidden at the front edge under the speaker cover. The switches just prise out as well and unplug easily. All the above is from memory and its been a while since ive taken a card off so not sure if ive got everything, its for a late interior as well. The focals are very good speakers though, ive just got some dynamat ordered so will be taking the cards off soon to fit that. :D

You need to remove the doorcard then fit them from the rear, I dont know what the circuit board is though. for the tweeters I made some plates from 6mm mdf and used the clips from the original tweeters to mount them in the dash.

The gearbox mount on mine was oil filled. Dont think the rear mount is though but that hasnt needed replaced yet.

With the cam sensor knackered the ecu will be running in a back up mode so probably isnt taking any readings from the maf, the cam sensor is fairly cheap and easy to replace.

You can get a set of Goodridge braided brake pipes from ECP for about £50-£60. Supposedly greatly improve pedal feel as they dont expand under heavy braking.

I was looking at the prices of the 6speed when I got my diff and clutch done, just for the gearkit it was about £1500 so I gave it a miss, didnt even bother to ask about labour on that one.

So its safe to use the standard DOT4 or DOT5.1 is better but more expensive, but dont use DOT5 as it rots the seals?

From Bentley. Needing my brakes done soonish as well, probably go for the standard front disks with pagid pads, but what does everyone use at the back? Standard disks I assume but standard pads or pagids as well?

Have wondered this as well, the answer I got basically stated that fi cars arent always under boost, when off the accelerator there is a vacuum which builds up for the brakes and there is a valve of some sort to stop the vacuum being lost when under boost.

Happened to me on my old 16v and I think Tom (vr6) as well, theres an old thread on it though I think it broke in a different place, at the bottom of the drivers side wiper near the wing.

But will there be Right Hand Drive versions? :?

Its in the same place, under the gear gator. I think its only the later coilpack C's that have the new style connector.

I found that my vr got better fuel consumption than my 16v as well on long runs, on the 150mile run home from aberdeen i got 29 in the vr and the 16v was at 27.

Yip, sure am, especially with the at the wheels figure. (And the diff.) :D The car may be chipped according to Jim, should have asked him if it would be obvious if i open the ecu to check.
