  1. What are the 3 plugs for, what do each do? I have some problem with the fans, they go on after a while but only at about 70-80c then just stay on til the engine is cold but don't turn off with the engine and run til the battery's flat, this is a nightmare so i have the fan unplugged. Chris
  2. Nice one Kev, I never knew or even heard of this, how the hell did you know about it? Chris
  3. ISV if it's getting worse as the temp goes up and the air gets warmer in the system? Chris
  4. ET15! He'll need curb feelers soon :norty: Chris
  5. If you want to fit coil-over-shocker suspension and use 2 settings it will be not only epic to constantly do but expensive as you will have to keep getting your tracking done every time you change the ride height as the camber and caster angles change significantly with the adjustment. Chris
  6. That's around half the price of the Powerflex items! And i'll bet they are pretty much the same product too. Chris
  7. Lee, I noticed the very same wheels on your car on page 2 i think about your car in the members thingy if i'm not mistaken? I have already ground clearence on the front caliper carriers so my wheels would fit, prob took 4mm off them on the edge but then they fitted nicely so should be fine else i'll get the grinder back out for him. Chris
  8. £118 for the 4 wishbone ones & the beam alxe ones plus postage, seems Stealth was cheaper after all so far! Chris
  9. This is a fascinating thread for many reasons, just so far from the general forum themes! I agree with a lot of points but not all, interesting reading! The Princess was an aspirational car of the time by all accounts, i was too young to know the difference at the time but later on i recognised something really special with the Austin Princess. 20 years ago when I and most of the teenagers and early 20yr olds either had or aspired to have a Ford Escort and you could watch the rallying on TV every week and Top Gear was a can't miss programme making it's mark, we discovered that our MKII Escorts could have 4pot callipers and vented discs up front! A tenner from the scrappy and an impressive break upgrade for your Escort 20years ago! It's a lot different now with a 4pot kit costing £500 upwards, as someone said a couple of pages ago 'the good old days!' Just takes me back. Chris
  10. A20 LEE, Bit rought that stark statement without supporting text like! Chris
  11. Doesn't look fruitfull Gixxer
  12. Woo-Hoo! Nice one, look forward to seeing them on the car and remember the locking nuts! maybe 2 sets! Chris
  13. Wasn't it a Seat Ibiza that Paul used the control panel from Chrishill! Chris
  14. It's true that the fluid damages the componants, if it's had the wrong fluid in there in the past it may still help by draining and filling with the propper stuff but it can take a little time to bleed it's self through and get the bubbles out and go quiet again, do some lock to lock cycles to move the fluid to where it needs to be and push bubbles out Chris
  15. kevhaywire, You love that term 'unsprung weight' don't you! i've noticed you using it plenty of late. My wheels are an ET35 and do sit out a touch but is fine though i though the std VR ET was 38mm not 42 but stand to be corrected. As long as they fit and tracking and inner/outer arch clearence is ok then great. Oh and how lucky am I? An Audi TT left hand drive bumped into the side of me today, i couldn't get out the car cos his TT was parked in my door so i put the window down and shouted at him German Cnut! Chris
  16. Now those look much better on the car than in the pics on web sites Nice one! Chris
  17. Damn Fragglopolous, Just looked through page8, and i have to say, it's looking bloody lovely and i'm not the biggest compliment giver! Chris
  18. here's something i thought tasty. By the way that link just wouldn't load on my pc! Chris
  19. It's not that hard, i used a bodyfiller spreader with your fingers each side and a bit of pressure pushing and it just comes off and didn't bent the strip at all, the car is now Chrishill's silver VR6 and resprayed but not fitted the strips back on. Chris
  20. BeavisJem, that's a fantastic avatar, had me mesnorised for a while whilst i followed the plains of movement, very clever! Chris
  21. Shame, I love watching Top Gear and have grown up with it and watched it's changes as it's brought up to date to it's current incarnation, plus i often miss it which sickens me so don't want it to disappear all together either Chris
  22. yeah it all supports the engine/box and i think the rack too etc. Not the nicest of jobe so you have my sympathy also! A similar thing happened to my drivers side one and ended up getting it out with help from Corrado VR6n.o.s, thanks James. Lots of WD40 and plenty of heat from oxy/acetaline lit glowing orange hot. Got some Stillson grips on the stub of the bolt and slowly slowly and with a lot of sweat and hoping it came out, new bolts are only about £1 each and plenty of copper slip grease Chris
  23. I'm after finding the best price for the front wishbone bushes from Powerflex. I've used the search and my eyes are tired now with no luck. Please post up cost and contact details for the company whom you found to be the best for supplying these. Thanks Chris
  24. I'm not a G60 owner but have to say, why are these things so damned expensive, they're nothing more than an air to air radiator so why the huge money???? That's the main reason i don't have an intercooler on my VR6, water injection looks the more realistic. For 8bhp/Lbs ft gain for £1000 was it? I'd seriously be looking at keeping the std cooler and popping nitrous on which not only goes in at -160c so is the ultimate intercooler but gives you a reliable increase of 75bhp instantly and safely and would take a lot of bottles to get through to equal the price tag of the modded cooler but offeres a massively higher fun factor and impressive performance! Chris
  25. There's always one isn't there! Bursting into song at the least oppertunity :D Yeah much better and more thoughtful but, What is Potatonet? Chris
