  1. Yeah, i've had many of these tying to but my Skylines but all bollox! Chrishill did a good one with one of these that i was hoping for him to explain it on this thread, Chrishill! wanna post it? Chris
  2. Nope, they are defo headlight covers like i had on my VR sprayed with tinted black laquor and they aren't illegal, i know this from first hand experience after being stopped more than once and asked about them. It's if they aren't removable and there isn't a headlight pattern of enough light getting through that there is a problem and they can be used with an eyebrow if slightly modified. I bought mine from ECP, not sure if they still do them but i know of a few people that also got them from ECP. Chris
  3. It's widely known that in a lot of places the council has placed humps to use the money they have in thier budget and so they got more money next year they go hunting for roads to put them on, it's all wrong but how are we all letting them get away with it? I don't know anyone that agrees or likes them so how are they so prolific? Chris
  4. CoxyLaad, Shortly it will have been a year since you asked that question and i'm sorry for the delay in replying but no the pics were taken at Durham if i'm thinking of the right pictures you mean. Chris
  5. corradovr6sc, god damn, was all that from memory? Joe M, I've not yet had it on the rollers in it's current tune but will soon with the smaller pulley on so we shall see but it should be somewhere between 250-270bhp CoxyLaad, I will be taking it down to Stealth to get Geoff from Amd to do a map for me with the smaller pulley on and this should yeald more power and accuracy. Chris
  6. Guy, VF Vortech stage 3? but where's the charge cooler, stage2 i'm sure you mean though i stand to be corrected, have you been spending more money! Grinding is refering to the edge of the socket that fits on the wing fixing, lift the lifter up once popped onto the wing fixing and it goes so far, if lifted further up it tends to pop it's self off so i groung a little of the back of the socket off so it lifted to where i wanted it. HTH Chris
  7. The drilled hole needs to be through the double skin area so you get a better thread but you can always dot it with a bit of mig weld to secure things further but they worked well for near 3years, another factor is you need to fit the strut to the wing and lift it up, this will pretty much give you the place where you need to drill and fix the nipple, a touch of grinding may be needed to allow the gas strut to lift a touch higher as i did. You don't really want to drill through the spot weld as this would remove the weld, instead, you can make the hole partly into the spot weld but not in the middle of it, just thought i'd make my self a little clearer. HTH Chris
  8. Two's never enough, when you've had two you always want more ;-) Chris
  9. so far i have £2500 in it for the bug all round break upgrade and the charger and nitrous Chris
  10. I have to add the the keep fit count here for my old 1.8 valver had keep fit windows and i never understood why they put windy windows but an electric sunroof! My current VR, well, just nothing works or not very often anyway, just when it wants Chris
  11. the car park has looks of somewhere foreign, defo not the usual UK tatty car parks, nice! :-D
  12. The rear shockers are so cheap and simple to change yourself, there're like £16 or something from ECP or GSF Chris
  13. I import Japanese performance cars, it's surprising how much things like Skylines can be bought for even, take a gander at the website and it tells you the what's & where fors of us importing a car for you. Chris
  14. Don't suppose it makes much difference like cos you can still remove the glass if damaged. What about getting the black surround colour coded on a stsndard non welded mirror, would it look right or twee? Chris
  15. Nissan 350Z. I can import one of these from Japan for £16,000, was fancying one for myself as the Vortech supercharger kit takes it to £650bhp! and that's rolling road proven. Plus i already have the vortech supercharger to slap on it! They are deceptively fast as is the VR6, I was recing one with my biz partner in one of our Skylines and it was pulling hard and was level up to the 140mph mark then we were pulling away up to 170 but he wasn't far different from the Skyline and would be easily much faster than even a modified VR unless supercharged. Chris
  16. And by the way chris yeah, pics, there must be a couple to keep people interested, post 1 or 2 up man Chhris
  17. Vag Com! it's just fluid man, what's vag-com going to tell you, have you ever seen what is displayed with vag-com? nothing to do with break fluid that's for sure and nothing to do with faults re:abs Chris
  18. Don't forget the proportioning valve at the back axle, best if the back wheels aren't left hanging by jacking up as this will seriously limit the amount of fluid allowed to flow through it to be bled Chris
  19. I don't know, there seems a lot of chat about my car, did ppl talk about it as much when i had it? The reason i'm a little deflated about it going is that i felt i'd sold it too cheap because it is looking right and the respray was £760 and a little more violet was added to get an effect going on and it is sweet when clean and the sun shines! The new one just isn't as good and has standard suspension and nothing works, like the locking, windows, sun-roof, mirrors, a dry joint to the ECU, the f***ing breaks are the s***est i've ever come across! It's just f**ked and it hasn't got the glassy tinted finish of my old one plus the drive shafts vibrate and every nut, bolt and item underneath is blood rusted into a fluffy ball of corrosion. That's why i'm sad that my VR's gone although i know it's gone to a good home that's why i sold it cheaper and left some stuff on. I have the 6 direct port injectors yet to fit for the nitrous on the new engine and the reason i swapped the engine & box is because i had an ultra-light 6Lb alloy flywheel on and i'm buggered if i was going to go through the toil of splitting the two to swap the flywheel out and i wasn't going to leave it as it's £349 worth of flywheel Good luck Chris, glad you're liking it! I've got grooved and cross-drilled discs on the back now and 310mm cross-drilled vented discs with calipers for the front and getting the goodridge hoses soon so hopefully the breaks will improve with them on. At least you can tell ppl your car has seen the higher side of 160mph many a time! And as you saw with your own eyes, it beats Skylines! You were the passenger at the time so you saw first hand! It's a competition with the Satin Silver VR6's with me and Chris now especially as we're both Chris's, join the party! It's all gravy man! By the way Chris, where's all the pics then!? I'll have to post some pics of my new heap but someone nicked my new Nikon digital camera so Chris you'll have to take some for me in kind of a two silver VR on angles stylee, like Tom VR6 and i think Kev Haywire's cars Chris
  20. Chris VR6nos

    H&R Springs

I'll agree that they are good, my mate had them on his vr and it sat as good as any Koni or other VR and was comfortable as well as sporty and level. Chris
  21. Or you could soak it each day for a few days in WD40 and use good tools and it will come off, hopefully! Chris
  22. I had a similar problem with one of my VR6's and it was a failty MAF, changes it and it ran great from that moment. Chris
  23. woerthersee! Austria! Looks like i'm going! Chris
  24. Chrishill, The darkened rear lights look very effective, i'm gonna do that to mine but you need to chop the bbs wheels out and put the RH's in for the full effect! Chris
  25. Clearence, I used an angle grinder to make enough clearence as my wheels would only fit with spacers but i wasn't happy with that. The caliper carrier was ground 2-3mm back and the wheels now fit fine and the but i ground doesn't make any difference. Chris
