Nasty one chap. You have had a bit of a run of wan*ers messing with your ride recently. Im guessing an insurance claim would be a bad one if you are trying to build a no claims. especially with what you pay. Sorry mate can only offer sympathy. and you might want to get yourself a proximity alarm.

I agree with Catch 22 in that cameras are a poor replacement for a copper. but I think flashing lights displaying the limit would just make things worse. even less chance of spotting that kid by the road caus you are concentrating on the sign and then the speedo. There was some research in Europe somewhere a few years ago (vague I know but cant remember where) into the removal of all road markings and speed limits signs. The effect was that people slowwed down and concentrated on the road around them more, and roadside accidents involving both cars and pedestrians were proven to be reduced. None of these things though would have prevented the tragic accident, Which was probably just that. An accident. They do happen on their own without fault to be apportioned. Icy weather and cars are just not good bedfellows.

Try giving Mcguard a call. Dont know if they can be any help as things seem fairly terminal but you never know. 0808 156 3675.

Del, Ive got the alpine components up front with the tweeters hidden under the grilles on the dash and they sound ace. IIRC they were about 80 quid last summer but cant remember the name and number. They dont thump (that is what the sub and 6x9s are for) but if you fade to fronts they sound pretty good.

-
sorry. thought I had read juddery in the post somewhere.
-
Good stuff Cheers mate.
-
How bad is juddery? does it feel like you could put the pedal to the floor only for the engine to get lumpy and not rev propperly? if so it might be something called an actuator? no idea what it is but one went on my old oil burner and it felt like only running on 3 and bumbled on start up. Twas about 80 quid to get repaired including the part.
