  1. Well, after seeing the wheeler dealers episode i might buy the sub £2k corrados, do a bit of soldering and change an oil cooler and sell them on for £4k
  2. I do love it, but having to take it slow and not go over 3500rpm at the moment, so having to resist temptation. It just starts to growl and i have to change gear.
  3. Drove mine to work today, first time in about 18months
  4. I had this, bought a £150 escort and they wanted quite a wedge to insure it (the only excuse they gave was the amount of time i'd owned the car). Think i went with admiral in the end and they did something called "mirroring" my NCB, Made it a bit cheaper., but i still wasn't too pleased.
  5. Teves20 system isn't too expensive, pleased with how my upgrade went, it does involve quite a bit of work though, but the pump is serviceable and more available, plus it gets rid of the crappy brake bias valve on the rear beam. Cost about £300 for everything needed, although have seen some people selling the system a lot cheaper.
  6. Anyone seen chip foose doing his brushed metal effect painting?, comes out quite good.
  7. Just had a google and seems a few people just buy gasket paper and make their own
  8. Took hours with sandpaper to do that, tbh, i look back and think i would rather have a sprayed textured one.
  9. Its inside one of the old hoses, (i'm told, didn't notice mine either), I bought an aftermarket one and fitted it. Can just about see it on the rear hose to throttle body.
  10. I only mention the samcos as there is a non-return valve in the original hoses, which doesn't come with the samcos. Mine seems better after fitting my own valve inline.
  11. I thought it was quite a good idea, but also wouldn't be too hard to do it with paint and flat it back then polish up. I thought if you wet a sponge with red paint and then pressed the badge onto it a few times to build up the paint you wouldn't need a steady hand or any masking. Shame i don't want a red badge. I have a spare, might paint that and sell it for £100
  12. If it were me. I'd have a few tests and compare results, before buying glasses. I swear they lie to sell you glasses. I've had glasses since i was at primary school, i don't ever remember feeling that i needed glasses. But next thing i know i get an eye test and told i need them. Same with my brother and sister. I swear its all an conspiracy.
  13. Is there much difference between early and late vr's other than the coilpack, badge colour. Are they the same suspension? Was a good show. Made me want a respray. But feeling chuffed i got mine back on the road this weekend just gone. Didn't know the sunroof lining popped out like that, do you really need the special tool from vw? Wouldn't be surprised if people involved with the production purchased some of the cars at the end.
  14. Might be a bit of air in the system. Although am sure some slight noise is normal. Do you samco hoses or similar?
  15. They do take most of the 5 weeks to be delivered though, so I'd order in advance of needing them. Held me up a bit waiting for them.
  16. This is what i ordered http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/scirocco-corrado/corrado/body/exterior/sub-part-535809848.html
  17. If you message Anna on here she can arrange delivery of parts from classic parts. Saves on postage as said. Think the sill sections are about £40-50 each side. I have one spare i bought and didn't use.
  18. I'm going to watch it in Currys
  19. Must of seen corrado owners buying them and added corrado tax on :(
  20. I'd had a Karcher for years, possibly 15yrs, it started to break and i started to buy bits for it and fix it, but in the end bought a new karcher. The modern ones are nothing like the old stuff, "they don't make em like they used to" definitely applies here. Modern one feels much cheaper and just doesn't seem as good. I then had a friend want to borrow my new karcher to clean an old land rover engine bay, i had only used it once and he doesn't look after stuff so knew it would come back filthy and probably scratched all other so talked him into buying a Nilfisk. It seems just as good as a karcher. I therefore recommend Nilfisk and kind of wish i'd bought one.
  21. Yeah, its great to be using it again. Going to be a bit boring running it in though. Had some dick behind me in a range rover yesterday, driving right up my arse and revving the engine as if to say "get a move on" (was in a 30mph zone which took the ****)
  22. Think its all sorted now, coolant gauge seems to work now. Coolant isn't going down (done nearly 200miles over the weekend). Couple of pic of the Audi sunvisors i fitted, needed a bit of bodging but got them in. Fitted the sunroof switch back for now, will look into a black one when i have more money.
  23. I use pagid discs and pads from eurocarparts. I don't really drive too hard on the brakes so are fine for me. Same with tyres. I never notice the difference between the mid range and then the expensive ones. Never bought the really cheap ones.
  24. I remember a friends dad buying a new integra type r and was so anal about it. He used to plot all the fuel fill ups and distance covered in his computer. Would take the wheels and bumpers off to wash the car.
  25. I keep receipts and write the date and mileage on them. My folder is silly thick. Also note down the spec as it changes. Nearly bought brake discs and pads using a website where you enter reg plate. Only to remember i had 288mm fitted.
