Is it not the fact that both filaments on the h4 bulb light when you hold the stick back, along with the main beam (h1 bulbs?) I guess the reason they dont always stay like this is heat generation. im guessing but HTH

i think there is a fail safe that still makes the buzzer go off if the wires are dissconnected from any senders. senders will come in at less than £10 for both from ecp/gsf.

how does your alarm know door are open? is it just by the interior light/door switch? worth checking. edit, the handel is unlikly to cause problems as it is a physical movment that locks the door, no switch etc. if the door locks then its something to do with the pump in the door or associated wires. remove both handels and lock with the 'zappa' you will be able to see the pumps pulling the lock down (they are connected to the lock with a metal rod (from the pump) to a plastic arm (on the lock - this can snap and is only 45p from VAG)

they are kind of right, you may get away with normal size dampers with -40mm springs BUT you would be far better off with shorter dampers and you should air to replace them in pairs anyway. You could stick a set of boge turbogas struts (from gsf) on with the springs which would be cheap and not to bad. the turbo gas shocks are about 30% uprated over normal shoack. if you have the money look at some knoi or h&r etc... hth.

the switches work by going to earth i think, so loose wires can cuse this aswell as faulty switchs. the switches are on the top of the oil filter houseing. i thing you will have a black and a white or brown one. they are cheap from gsf/ecp. :-)
-
a claw type oil filter wrench should do it.

i agree, i had two burst so got a vw one of a newish car in the scrappies for £5

thanks for that guys, gave gsf the part number and they had one in stock. £6.20 ish edit: Tip - get new bolts two as i almost rounded on of the little buggers off. :-) -
looking good mate! how much for the vag wishbones? I will be undertaking something like this in the next few weeks, well doing bones/brush stuff. Im gonna try and kill my car ready for NoRice

I had the same problem in terms of the flashing and it was indeed the sensor, So a new tank sorted it. Mine used to be intermittent but nowhere nears as regular as yours. I guess you could make sure its not a faulty wire by bridging the contacts on the sensor plug. good luck.

looks good, but would not do it. Dont like the idea of driving round like that, would cause all sorts of problems, and is it safe? But each to his/her own :-)

The Gsf in my area has just started up so maybe they just couldnt find it. The item deffo has that number on it  Anyways all fitted and looking good, thanks again :-)
-
OK GSF had no idea what the number on the back of the reg was. but they did manage to find it. So if anyone wants one its gsf part number 91030.

cheers Neil, help as always :-)

ah sorry guys! i should be more clear  . Carpy25 had it right. I want to wire the car charger in so its all nice and behind the dash. If i can just wire up the lighter insert to a fused supply then thats great, ill do that. Ill just use the wires from the lighter socket as stan says :-) sound good?
-
as above guys and girls, i want to fit my phone/gps charger in to the car so i dont have to use the lighter sock. any ideas?
-
yeah agree with above, i had simmilar and i replaced the front mount. Its better but still there a bit and i can see my rear mount is dead. Ill report back when new rear and gearbox mount are fitted but i suspect they will sort it

looks like the GSF option is the way to go. I order what i thought was the regulator from VW only to be given 2 individual carbon brushes!!!!! I had to solder them to my old regulator myself! (bloody VAG) Looks like ill get on the GSF website, anyone got the part number for the complete regulator?
-
looking fine mate! love the bus, any more pics?
-
you can get away with out one, but i would advise you get old of one. I think that halfords will stock them. Also some one will confirm but there is 2 types (not sure which is on the C) 1. allan key style 2. 2 noch style like on my C (a noch on each side of the piston) hth
-
so anyone know what the wing mirrors are off?
-
Just saying i would do it my self  if its your first offer just make sure you look around mate! it doesnt sound that bad, and it comes down to being convenient after all :)

Parts will come in around £60-70 from a place such as ECP/GSF (discs, pads, bearings). its not that hard to do yourself if you can. But im not sure how ''long'' it will take 'them' to fit, i think i could do it in 2 hours with a few cups of tea. i would say that you will need new bearings and yes maybe a little steep (i wouldnt pay it) hth
