yep they did something simiilar to me, it was my dad and myself on the policy. They had noted my sp30 but the hadent noted my dads and when a claim was made (wasn't even my fault so the pay out was the 3rd party) elephant checked the details and my dad said yep we both have sp30's etc......Then they said that they wanted £220 as my dad had not told them about his sp30!!! i mean why would he tell them about mine and not his! anyway water under the bridge now but annoying!

I know what you mean about the 924 biggerbigneil, there is just something about them - much like a corrado. I will be looking into them maybe next year. Wasnt there a body kit diff? maybe later cars looked a bit more chunky?
-
OMG indeed! thast fantastic, the guy must be super rich! i would be happy with like 1 or 2 of those cars shiny!

some oil is normal, if the vr is like the 16v then there is a breather pipe that puts fumes back into the intake, which over time causes an oily build up.
-
have you cleaned the isv? also check for air leaks as the kejet system is very sensitive to leaks. edit what idle speed do you get?
-
is it a 16v? COuld be anumber of things i guess, does teh car run right etc other than the idle?
-
I guess the take home message is these things do happen with the old corrado, but keep a smile on your face and you will love her all the same :D oh and let have some pics! edit: to take the pof out you just need to take the surrond off aroud it, not the whole dash as mk2 golf. just 4 screws :-)
-
I agree with the guys but if you did want to do it its not the hardes of thing to do as all the parts can be had and the engine is designed to go in the car (not like putting an 18T in for example) Also dont think you would *have* to go wide track but you would need the dampers/springs due to extra mass of the Vr motor...
-
how bad are these things? e.g fuel pipe from pump to accumalator corroded (surface corrosion) must always happen a bit. And this slightly deteriorated part what does it mean? All old exhaust systems will show some rust etc. On the whole, if the body and engine are fine im sure it will be fine and welcomes you into corrado ownership  :D as for parts they are normally cheap form: http://www.eurocarparts.co.uk or gsf (google it) :)

well so far so good, timed it up using the '0' as i have a gun that you can set the advance on so i set that the 6 degrees BTDC and timed up using the afore mentioned tdc mark. all seems well and i was out so we will see in the morning :-) thanks again for the help

we had a new TDI disco a year ago, wasnt really a problem infact it was a lovely car with all the extras. Only problem was the fusebox went funny and had to be replaced but was done for free under the warranty. My stepdad was then involved in a head on with a volvo estate which wrote the dico off (volvo driver was from holland or something and was on the wrong side of the road, eek!!) all i can say is the disco and volvo were both trashed big style but my step dad walked away with only a bit of whiplash and thats it! the roof had to be cut of the volvo. As he would not have another disco he eventually ended up with a frontera Ltd edition with a 3.2 l engine. I have to say the newer ones are worth a look as its really nice in a strange american truck kind of way. What is the tow weight you are gonna be pulling?
-
well thats Kool! Ill give that a go tonight! I gave up trying to adjust the CO as my metering head has no adjustment hole like other i have seen, Ill just leave the ECU to sort that out  Thanks for the info guys, ill just use the tdc mark as i have a snazzy timing gun that you can set the advance on, so may even try a bit more advance again :D thnaks guys!
-
yeah i tried some of that stuff just for something to do and it has made a notable diff! think the 16v only use something like 4L, so stick about that in the check level etc... Basically i always have some left from a 5l when i do the change., :-)
-
Oo to time it up you just set the dizzy with a timing light at idle with out any need to dissconnect or change anything else (i.e the 1.8 16v you have to diss the red/black lead to set timing) its the whole kejet thing that has got me all confuzzled And you are right dave i deffo need to knock it back a bit (or try 98 ron) :D
-
Sorry to drag this up again folks! I have messed with my timing by ear and the car is sooooooooooo much better i couldnt believe it! But i do get a split second of pinging before the ecu sorts it out (only on WOT in low gear) which makes me think i have gone a bit to far so if any one has some infor on the timing setup on a 9a i would = :D
-
i find that my car smokes a bit with Q Silver, which i didnt with other oils i have used, im gonna try another brand next change. As for the stuff you have i have used in it my old scirocco storm with no problems, just stick it in and see :-)
-
get some later dash tweeters and they act as a loop, the wires go from head unit to tweets then from tweets to door :-)
-
yeah i guess so, i just put it down to power implementation over the rev range and putting the power down. i think im think to hard and it most likely wrong :lo
-
i see, maybe its down to putting the power down? someone should email the webmaster to check.
-
so whats so odd then?
-
URGENT! Is it pos to fit a C Rear Bench (hump) in Scirocco !
sciroccotune replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in Interior
i have heard of it, so its been done. hopefully some one will know whats involved -
thanks guys, that the mixture thing sorted out!! Gonna be having a go of that tonight - top info flusted, you may want to do another wiki! ;-) SO that just leaves te timing to check, any ideas? hope the hang over isnt to bad mate! :-)
-
I was hoping you may know something about this mate :-) Well all the ones that are currently published don’t seem to have the 9a and the library did not have that one, only 1988-1996. if you could get some info for me that would be great!! cheers :D
-
ok i have checked all the haynes books abut none of them cover the 16v engine. so im once again stumped!! and help? cheers :-D
-
