weird over heat problem on a Wagon R
CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to davidwort's topic in General Car Chat
I work for suzuki and those engine are not prone for these sort of problems, but what you are describing is a head gasket or cylinder head failure. When the headgasket was replaced was the head pressure tested for cracks? Also suzuki do not allow us to skim ANY of the heads we have off...new only! not that it applies to you but the suzuki RB413 motor is well strong. -
plenty of link on line...quick google. http://is.gd/ new ebay link..... here

Aqua blue pearl VR - p.34 bonnet cable repair
CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to fla's topic in Members Gallery
Ive just looked at mine and its the same as what you have! just shows i dont pay attention sometimes :camp: The cables sit ontop of each other like your bracket. Dont know about the rubber rings on the cable,im sure they are to keep the cables away from the tunnel, not sure if this is a problem tho. When you say to short...im what way? can you not just pull them untill they fit or have you locked off the gearshift from mooving? -

i really dont know mate,im sure the bracket on the box will be at fault rather than the cables, but its at a guess. :( Edit. ETKA part number for the cables are the same. But brackets are different in part numbers....the one you have is for 4cyl versions. -

I can see the cables has the early bracket mate, possibly this is the reason for the cable lenght being short for the VR box. As for your brake pedal and clutch, i would set the brake pedal and clucth to the hight you want and the pull the centre of the brake switch out as it self adjusting, try it you will see what i mean  james -
Questions questions..... A tool to turn the tensioner would be good but have seen many folks jam a big screwdriver in to lever, then tensioner accross......i would use the proper tool. Rule of thumb is if you fit the belt (give a few rotations to settle) and then twist the belt at its longest point, cam to main idler pully.... it should be able to twist between 90- 180 deg with reasonable force, any more than 180deg is to slack. and its clockwise, othe way would work but the lower cover would foul when you try to fit it. hope that helps

hmm that jetex system will work well witha straight pipe 8) ,i would have dont the same as you but they dont do 3" systems :(
-
yup nothing wrong with that at all, good engines th VR 8)

Yea the tag stops it fully rotating around but if there is to much free play that could cause the tag to come away and worse case the thrust drops out but thats unlikley as it would have to be excessively worn.
-
You will exspect the thrust washer to move back and forth if you move the crank like that to. But once running it not going to move like that, have you measured the crank end float?

what about ignition timing, fueling etc.....does the engine pink? -
there is loads on CGTI mate also they follow grooves etc badly on the road. Get a dif ya tight git
-
I was going to get a set a while back before the diff. They have thick sidewalls so are noisey on the road and are not so good in the wet but folks do run them for a daily. Most reserve them for the track and use T1R's for the road. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread ... light=r888
