what size? depth? Most are fine and fitted correctly will never come off...ones that are 10" + long are going to run bearings off at some point.

Help needed, ignition timing on a 9a 16v
CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to Jay16valver's topic in Engine Bay
when i used to tune classic cars we would get the fuelling right then on the rollers get max power/rpm in 3rd gear while turning the distributer to gain maximum bhp then lock the dizy off. Get the new timing with the gun and our done we got big gains fom this and most of the time the standard ignition timing was no where near stock. i suspect stealth will do the same. -
New/recon gearbox...what are my options? ***Updated***
CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to MonkeyVR6's topic in Drivetrain
if you can give me the gearbox code then i can get them for you bud. -
i susgest the powder with aux belts and yes that could be it but mostly Vr have this problem.
-
it will be something on the aux side, pull the belt off and spin each pully, alternator etc and it should show up if the noise stops once the blts is off that is.. but if its still the same pull all covers off incuding the cam belt covers and go through what you did, have a good look at covers for any sign on rubbing etc.
-
if you remove the aux belts is the noise still there?
-
did you adjust the cam belt tensioner up over or down over...? as you should rotate the tensioner clockwise to clear the covers? If you take the top timing cover off does it stop?

CorradoVR6-Turbo replied to fla's topic in Members Gallery
i just use normal grease, just a thin film of it on the sleeve and release bearing contacts will do....there is probably special VW grease out there somewhere....
