  1. What did I tell you mate! You've got the bug well and truly. Lol There's not 1 piece of plastic apart from the rear speaker shelves, Oh and the steering cowling and drivers side foot plastics but watch this space. The dash under trays are being re done... I want the insides re trimmed in alcantara so it nicer than the flocked internals. My door pockets have been trimmed in alcantara to not scratch the leather. A chap on here has taken his Recaros to be trimmed by Tim so you'll be seeing another set to lure you in I'm sure. This weekend I will finish the polishing on the RH's and buy 4 new tyres Monday for them and should be able to rig up seats this Saturday so it's a Corrado weekend. Plus I'm meeting the buyer of my old seats in Dorchester. The supersprint 6 branch arrived today and they guys in the shop laughed! He's chopped the end off and then I dropped it off today to be blasted and when it's ready it will go back to have a new flexi and flange stainless welded and offered up to the car. Then I need to have it coated and then wrapped or I may go for a ceramic coating? Will post up asking peoples opinion about ceramic coating as I heard the drag cars coat the inside too.....
  2. Fla, I could probably get the leather nice and tight and think there's more room with the plastic ones. The question about the different companies making these chrome pulls were to try and determine if folks have fitted them without the rubbing/catching and where they bought them? I was on the ARZ site yesterday and spotted them but don't want to order them incase the same happens. The other 3 or 4 sites I saw them being advertised and they all say for late interior and no modification required! Anyone else got them fitted? Cheers Rams
  3. Quick update Picked up new plug for seat and sunroof clip and wire kit and the factory wiring loom arrived from Germany to make the seats electric. Happy days so this weekend I can have them all rigged up and to fit my seat belt stalks.
  4. Have people successfully installed the chrome door pulls without it hitting the plastic housing when opening? I'm not happy with the fit, tried shaving plastic but it doesn't return properly. A few places are selling them saying no mods needed but I'm wondering if another companies chrome door pull is a nicer fit that the one I have otherwise they are going back to standard plastic and be re trimmed. Cheers Rams

    Rear interior lights

Lets wake this one up! Lots of good ideas and wondering if the talented ones would make something up and potentially creat a group buy. I can't imagine them being overly expensive and nice little modification to brighten things up over the winter months and on. Also seen a rado with a matching boot lights on both sides which seems straightforward and very OEM esq Door pull lighting Puddle lights Rear footwell/C Pillars Has anyone since done any of the above and care to share? Heated Seats Issue

Exact symptoms as I had when I first got the car. Makes sense as the driver side gets more wear and tear. Good luck solving it

    Heated Seats Issue

You may find that you will have to remove the covers and you'll see the element wire running around the base of the seat and there is a join where it's attached/soldered to continue the loop and if someone has knead on the seat or its become detached with general age/usage then it will be re soldered. If you use a stanly blade you can seperate the cloth covering the element. Should take an hour or so
  9. Great reply! One tiny thing that just jumped into my head- your black screw covers - either side of dash that secure it in place, could you get cream coloured ones to blend in a bit more?
  10. He's got the trimming bug! I can recommend the furniture clinic conditioner and smells nice too. For regular use, natural baby wipes are a winner and easy to store in the glove box. Be honest, how many times have you stroked the dash whilst driving?! Lol
  11. Looks fantastic! Very smart overall
  12. I didn't want to break that news to you mate about the holes. i know how satisfing it is to get it all back together... when I did my dash re trim I had the holes opened up and made some inserts for the holes but later took them out as they looked less obvious with them out... Otherwise, if you need a new screen do it then from outside. Also make sure this area is properly pinned down under the grill as its likely to expand and contract with heat/cold temperature. Your dash is lightly different to mine so perhaps its been done a different way and its already very secure. Mine are joined under the grills as I didn't want the stich line through the top middle.
  13. Member 358 and joined back in 2003! Still going strong! I remember all my posts were in the wrong sections!
  14. Did you cover the holes at the back of the dash? It looks to be nicely trimmed. Did you have any problems getting the Bulk head screws out? Makes such a difference once your driving seeing it in your peripheral vision. The dash actually looks so much better and not so dated. IMO Good work!
  15. Really liking this modification and would like to express interest. Rams
  16. Can we do PayPal? Please pm details. There's no panic on this so when ever is convenient to post. Can send payment now or Monday. Cheers Rams
  17. Hi, would take the spacer gasket if still available?
  18. Now sold to Alex.. Please delete Cheers
  19. I like seeing this type of work and I'm sure makes you feel better knowing everything is nice and solid/protected. Keep it up!
  20. Make sure you use flexible grout and adhesive and tile to Aqua board where possible in moisture areas. Saves issues further down the line.
  21. Hey The chap is called Tim, I've just texting him asking if he's fine with me putting his number down... Sure it will be but would like to ask first... I warn you now, you will get the bug! Even spoke to him about a customer who called their company asking to trim alloy wheels and that someone he knows who's a trimmer has re trimmed most of his house including banister and spindles etc! A meet definitely sounds like a good idea, once Craig has his beast sorted we should rendezvous. Be a perfect opportunity to see and feel what the R32 is like. Tim just text back saying he's not allowed to advertise in effect so I am able to pass his number via pm. Please PM me if you would like it. I'm always thinking about the next stage with my car and I think that I'm still not sure what direction to take? Always like the VR sound and always leaned more towards a VR Turbo. I have a spare engine and box from obd2 golf 2.8 as recommended due to bore thickness but don't know where to start with engine spacer or low comp pistons and what ratio they should be so then I started to think, charged VR would be easy enough to get it on and running properly and now with all the r32 boys doing the conversion - makes it seem more modern and sensible and a stronger building point if you want more and more out of the engine. If anyone has any advice re engines or a good way forward I would appreciate hearing them. Also taking into consideration that I would like to make it 4 wheel drive eventually. Are there any advantages that I have OBD2 with the supercharger or Turbo route? Are they easier to map/setup? Ultimately a reliable fast 4 wheel drive car C is my ultimate goal.

    Seat belt release

Hi guys Any suggestions to make the gap neater between holder and release orange latch? Just wondering if I can paint it with a tiny brush in black? Or spray some plastic paint into a dish and hand brush apply? I think my trimmer would poke me in the eye if I asked him to cover it! Lol
  23. No problem. Just give me a shout as of when you need them.
  24. Evening Picked up the seat belt keeps and really happy with them. Dropped off the plastic seat guard rail covers and the rear seat belt holder covers. The guard rails will be leather and the other parts alcantara. The handle I never fitted on the passenger side will be trimmed in alcantara. So something to look forward too. Bought the Supersprint Manifold as advertised on here and booked it in for a clean up and to re weld neck in stainless as the repair was in mild steel by the looks of it and get it coated or wrapped. Should hopefully perk things up. I don't know why the retail for so much against others on offer but hope its a nice little upgrade. May have found a garage to keep her in over the winter with regular drives on nice days and looking for a everyday car which is practical so the search goes on. Thinking 5 series sport touring or 3 series equivalent. Not sure yet.
