Going round in circles here aren't we lads! My view is that say if I wanted to drive my mates car home from the pub beccause he was pissed and I wasn't and my policy covers any car third party then I could drive it as long as I had his permission to and as long as my mate has an insurance policy currently on it! But say he didn't have insurance on it and no one else did then no I wouldn't be covered on it as I am sure the car that wants to be driven has to have cover taken out on it! Just my 2p's worth

eezi bleed kits are excellent make the job a hell of alot easier than doing it the 2 man old fashioned way :D You can get the copper brake pipe, unions and flaring tool at most motor factors a 7mtr roll of pipe will cost around £10 and the flaring tool is about £20 from draper but in my experience the hand flaring tools are rubbish the flaring dies always break and they're hard to get replacements, at work we use a vice style flaring tool which is excellent but very expensive. To be honest your better off taking the brake pipe off down to your mator factors if it's an issue and get them to make up the pipe as it only costs a few quid to have one made.

I ve been with HIC for 3 years now and am in total agreement they're phone system is c*ap! I'm going with elephant.co.uk now on the rado as they wanted double what I paid last year, which was £720 this year they wanted £1450 :fist: for this years renewal even though I have another years no claims and no points. It's a shame as they offered by far the best package with all the extras you get I'm still with them on the gti though as they did a good deal on that

isn't the kit migs sent you the 180 degree bend rather than the rsr I would hope it is as you would need a 180 deg samco if it's a rsr outlet but yeah you need to remove the black silencer box and bolt the 180 to the outlet port of the charger casing :) easy enough!

Try Clifford alarms they've had intelli start in there range for years now! I got mine fitted 3 years ago, it came in handy when I used to get up for work at 4am in the morning, in the winter I would just press the button 10mins before I was ready to go and the car would start up and be nice and warm ready for a quick dash into work. I ve also got a push button start button for when I cant be arsed with the intelli start :)

Just Installed new speakers in VR6.....Sounds pants!!!!
Banana Man replied to Scott's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
As what nigel says the OEM wires are really pants get some decent oxygen freewires fed to the new speakers and also it might be worth investing in a crossover to filter the right frequencies to the right speakers as this will also help with the sound quality! Whats the rms power handling and the max if the rms is more than 100w I would get a small amp to run the speakers off but I should think you would be ok with the amp in the headunit. Good luck Cheers Ant -
£64.95 +P&P it says on that site for the cars. It sounds much the same as diamond brite jewel ultra and supaguard to me which alot of the main dealers have as an option when the car is new usually costing £150+ but you can buy it for between £20 - £50 elsewhere ( ebay  ) I ve got a full supaguard kit that does the whole lot wheels, paint, interior I got mine from toyota ( handy having a dad that works there :) ) which I'm going to use on my beast when it's finished.

I ve been getting windscreen quotes in the last few days! the ranges of the quotes are ridiculous autoglasss quoted me £490+ vat +£90 for the rubber trim seal then the RAC quoted me 450 ithink +vat + the seals. I went to VAG to see how much anew screen was and that came out to 150+vat with the green top tint I was a bit suprised to say the least when it was only that much so I decided to ring a few more companies in the yellow pages and found a guy that uses original glass and doesn't quote extra for the seal that usually have to be replaced anyway all for £220 inc vat Bargain

Very nice Leigh I think I saw your car at the national day at woburn abbey, it was in the show and shine wasn't it!! Just makes me wanna get my nugget beast back on the road asap!! I also think the rear lights tinted black look quality on the yellow too thats why I tinted mine :D

I will probably be updating regularly this and next week as progress is made as I have taken a few weeks off work :D going to bloody need em too if I'm going to have anything ready for inters! I'll post the pictures of the bumpers and the front pane when I pick em up in the week. Got no room for them here so they're still at the bodyshop all ready and waiting. :)

I ve been contemplating changing the colour of the crappy headlining in my rado for ages and seeing as it was out while the car is being resprayed I decided to do something about it. Went down the art shop to see if thety had anything that would be any good for the job but all they had was tiny little pots of fabric paints at £5 a pot which I would have needed about 15 of! The lady in the shop pointed me in the direction of Homebase as they have a complete range of paints so I trundled off up there to find one called plasti kote which does a wide variety of materials so I bought a couple of cans, total cost £10 got home sprayed a small section to start with justy to make sure it was ok to use it came out ok so I carried on with doing the rest of the headlining in thin coats and it's come up pretty well I think. I ve let it dry now for a few hours and am going to do one more coat tomorrow and then brush it down to get any excess off but it looks sooo much better than it did so I'm well happy :D here is a before and aft

They dont drill it they stick a std flywheel on a lathe and take material off the whole suface which reduces the weight of it ( or make it out of billet alloy and hardened steel)so it will take less effort for it to spin up when it's in an engine so you get better throttle response a little better low down torque I'm having mine done when I finish the X flow rebuild. Take a look on ridgeways website for the differences in weight from a std flywheel and one of they're lightened and balanced jobbies! http://www.ridgewayracing.com/

Maybe it had one of these fitted jim LOL http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... gory=32094 There are some proper muppets out there that actually think this kit works lol.

I ve hit 155 in my G60 a couple of times but in the real world with the inacuracies taken on board I rewckon it was around the 145 mph mark ( on private roads of course ahem! ) :D

I wouldn't bother with the special pliers for undoing the sprung clips they are bloody useless in tight spaces as they are quite big ( like water pump plumbing pliers) I found the mole grips as Henny says are just as good for undoing the clips as anything else, and once removedI never put them back on I just replace them with normal jubilee clips as they are soo much easier to take off! Oh and if you did want to buy the special pliers Draper and Sealey also make them for the cheaper a option than snap-on think mine were about 15 quid when I bought mine

Cheers for the comments guys it's a bit of a bummer to say the least but they are doing they're best to get it back on the road asap should be next friday as they have 3 blokes working hard on it, they've also had to replace the rear screen as it cracked while it was being shifted around it's one thing after another still they're sorting it out for me but it's knackered my plan of fitting the coilovers and the new brakes tomorrow now it'll have to wait till I get it back whenever that may be! :(

would a suspkit from a golfmk2 gti fit a corrado g60
Banana Man replied to brian g60 corrado's topic in Engine Bay
Yes they will fit I transfered my old mk2 jamex kit straight onto my G60 and that was 3 yrs ago and they're still going strong :D -
. I was supposed to be picking up the car today, all they had left to do last night was fit the bonnet, sunroof and tailgate, got a call this morning to say that the car is going to have to be completely stripped and re painted as the paint shop who mixed up the colour f*cked up on the first mix as the bonnet, sunroof and the tailgate are a completely different shade to the rest of the car and they dont know what the problem was with the paint mix, so the bodyshop have had to order a whole new lot and re paint the whole bloody car again to fix the problem, so bang goes the idea of getting it back this week or next week!!! Just what I didn't need I have got so much to do on it before I can even think about getting it back on the road! Looks as though I might have forget about inters now I just dont think it is possible with only 4 weeks to get everything done!! :( :( :( to say I'm pissed off is an understatement!!!
