  1. Stick at it mate, wish i could be of some help but i have never removed any of those bits(too scared lol)
  2. Support the engine as its only held up by the 2 x 10mm bolts 8vMatt has told you to leave in place (once you have removed the 4 17mm bumper bolts) Good Luck :)
  3. Here are a couple of pics, only 3 turned up , maybe there will be more next time?............ last pic is dalhalvaig on the left and on the right 'The great ant hunter' wullie
  4. Hi Tim, £40 posted for the leads and I'll transfer you the money straight to your bank as soon as I get home? Cheers Martin :)
  5. Is the passenger fog light intact? Interested in it if it's not cracked, not bothered about the surround, also interested in the good ht leads, and of course how little you'll accept for both items posted to Glasgow ? ;-) Cheers Martin
  6. Thanks for that, I'll have a look at the wiring/probe in the morning and hope its something easy enough to spot ---------- Post added at 12:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 AM ---------- No the carbon canister is still there, its just started happening out of the blue?
  7. Thanks for the info mate, although a lot of it is very much in the land of the unknown for me.................the relay is only chattering whilst i'm driving, it all quiet when i'm sitting at idle...........does this point towards the lambda even more?.............could the ECU relay be at fault as i know i have read that people seem to need to change this at some point?..............First thing tomorrow i'll have a look at the lambda wiring and see if there is anything visible...........oh and if it is a lambda issue, would/could that cause my hessitation/missing while giving it the lead boot? Sorry for all the questions but seeing as i have your attention i thought i'd chance my arm as i know what you dont know about these things aint worth knowing :)
  8. Hi All, I asked in another thread about a constantly clicking(while driving) relay i have, its the upside down 53 in the picture.............i replaced it with another which just clicks like the old one, only louder :)..................So if someone could tell me what it is i'd be very grateful.........and if they could have a guess as to why its gone into click overload, that too would be most appreciated. Looking at the other pic it suggests that it can only be(if the abs relays are behind the glovebox) the 'Coolant after-run control module'...........so if it is indeed part of the cooling system, which i guess makes some sense as i unplugged it and everything else seemed to still work..............so what would cause it to click like mad?..............i guess its constantly trying to turn something on?.........the fans? Any help would be great Thanks Martin
  9. I could probably do Tuesday evening but not Monday :-)
  10. Cheers Wullie, I have another 2 on the main part of the fuseboard too..........and i have a spare fuseboard with 2 on it........one of which will be taking the place of the mad clicking one..........hopefully that might sort it? Not that i have any idea what its function is anyway
  11. Have a look in here...............i posted links to a few other related topics in the last post of this thread..............i know where my money would be going :) http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?52775-Idle-Problems.......&highlight=2.0+16v+idle
  12. Ok , so it says 53 on it and it's in upside down as you look at it, I have removed it and everything seems to be working as before, the spades on it looked a little bit black and it was quite warm, also opened it up and it looked ok inside.........just thinking about it, the only thing I didn't try was the heated seats? Could it be part of that?
  13. Cheers emu, I have discovered the relay which is going mad........it's right at the top, above the rest of the relays, .........anyone know what this is as I can't find it in the bentley manual and don't want to unplug it in case it won't start lol
  14. Hi , I have an occasional misfire on the vr, its not too bad but a bit annoying, fairly recent(miles wise) coil pack, leads and plugs...........and i have started to heard a relay clicking............not that easy to diagnose which one as it only does it while driving.............turns out its one on the top of the fuse box.............the only one i can see which might have a bearing on the misfire would be the 'No 16 Fuel pump after run control unit'...........now i'm not sure it is this one that is clicking as i only managed to feel it last night..............anyone got any other suggestions as to what it might be?.....................i'm going to change the fuel pump relay and the ecu relay anyway, so any part numbers would be a help TIA Martin
  15. Not sure if this is a trick question, but I'd say yes. If it's a vr6 you have you need to use a lead removal tool to stop this very thing happening :)
  16. My money is on the oil pressure sensor, happened to me the day I was selling my old 16v, and also happened on my vr the day I was going away for a week in it
  17. It might help, just a little , if you were to give a clue to what engine it is? Lol too slow
  18. There is often talk of a Scottish get together but as yet it's still to happen , but yes there seem to be quite a few about here now :)
  19. Welcome mate.............can't help you too much on your list ,lots of good advice and spare parts on here though, nothing terminal by the sound of it, where abouts in Glasgow are you?
