Yes just about, the thermostat sort of fits into the water pump unit and the pipe covers it up No idea about part numbers , sorry :D

Hi all, A friend of mine has a problem with his polo.....3 door R plate.....not sure what mk this is? First of all the door wouldn't close.....the latch thing in the lock wouldn't engage.......so i gave him a hand to remove it from the car.....not too difficult.....once out of the car it was still hard to see why it didn't engage but there was a loose spring which i'm guessing is broken/out of place......and there seems no way to take it apart any further.. He went to a scrappy yesterday and got another but off a 5 door.....and he wasn't sure of the year? After fitting this all seemed well......he opened and closed the door a few times and it seemed to be working fine.....he refitted the door card and got in the car....shut the door and you guessed it.......JAMMED shut! We spent a couple of hours today removing the door card , uncliping the central locking part so that we could get at the mechanics of the lock. The external door handle does pull the bit on the lock but nothing happens The internal door handle is connected correctly and moves the right bit on the lock The door pin bit is also in the right bit. So if you are still awake after this :D .....the questions are...... Should he have taken the bit that the lock attaches to? ie the small bar on the door frame Is this bit bigger on a 3 door than a 5 door? How do you open the door ??? My plan is to get another lock tomorrow and drill/hammer/prise the old lock out ! that is unless there is another way :confused4: Cheers guys Martin

Mine has a leak at this hose under the distributer ........well not the hose exactly....the plastic bit that joins the block that the hose joins onto........i have a replacement sitting in the glovebox......been there months now :cuckoo: ......must get round to fitting it soon........or just keep topping the system up :D

The cat on mine was blocked and that caused a loss of power......put a bit of pipe right through it :D Ran so much better when unblocked......it was so bad that you could hold the pipe on the back of the cat and not get burned

The dash lights are easy......three bulbs along the top and one for each lcd....5 in total.....straight swap.....i bought them off of ebay and have since bought a couple of others from torsten from off here......sorry about poor pic quality but you get the idea.....it will take you longer to get the clocks out than to change the bulbs......also , you have to remove the green plastic strip at top of clock unit

Here are the torques according to autodata.....not sure of correct sequence's but i'd work from the middle out, opposing sides etc ......Someone with real knowledge will be along soon i'm sure :D

If its not got 2 holes each side.then it'll probably have a single vertical slot each side in the middle about 15mm tall......you'll need something flat and thin with reasonable strength.....

I used to go through the Gorbals all the time.....I worked in the high st and stayed in Mt Florida, and often visited the gorbals leisure centre. I'm over in Mosspark now.....and have a new job, so not a Gorbals regular any more.....although i do get my car mot'd/fixed there still :D . The green vr6 in the halfords car park is andygal off of here .....its his new one.....he recently sold his black one. I'll look forward to seeing yours in the flesh at some point.......and I'll try not to show how jealous i am :D
