That was lucky! Tell me about it .......really lucky, it was the braided hose at the passenger side front, i wouldn't have liked that to go when i was driving :gag:

Change Blue temp sensor, now heaters wont blow hot?
easypops replied to bigrichi's topic in Engine Bay
You have put an air lock in it mate, not sure how easy it is on the vr6 but should be easy enough. Try running it with the coolant cap off, and its best topped up from the top rad hose i think, generally a bit of squeezing the pipes might help :norty: I'm sure someone of proper knowledge will be along soon enough  -
I had the clutch done on mine a couple of weeks ago........I got a the clutch from TPS for £80ish plus vat but they give you £20 plus vat back for the old one, also needed the fork that the thrust bearing sits in replaced £30ish and the rear engine mount £30ish......labour for that was £150 which i thought was ok, still moaned about it though
-
Yes zak thats the very bit i mean......sorry if my bad terminology has caused you any stress mate
-
Not sure its of any help but my clutch went recently and i thought it was the slave but it didn't help changing it......the problem turned out to be the clutch fork that holds the thrust bearing was snapped, and after reading on here it turns out i'm not the first thats happened to, don't think its that common though.....and if it is, its about £30 for the fork. Hope you get it sorted mate

Maybe if you describe the colour of the wire you cut into , then someone might know which one it is.......The wiring is a bit of a mystery to me though......all i know is that if you dont connect the Grey/blue one at the rear of the headunit......your spoiler will stop working

VR6 Clutch Issue....bearing and clutch death? UPDATE
easypops replied to easypops's topic in Engine Bay
Well it looks like i'll be towing the car to the garage on monday morning......spoke to someone else today and seemed to know exactly what it was ........release/thrust bearing has partially or fully came away from the fork?......and will likely have done the clutch in :( .......i'm guessing i'll find out on monday :? Thanks again to wullie for the visit earlier on :salute: -
VR6 Clutch Issue....bearing and clutch death? UPDATE
easypops replied to easypops's topic in Engine Bay
Did you do this yourself?......is this possible to do at home or am i best to bite the bullet and book it in somewhere? That sounds like a parts and labour price. You will need to take the gearbox off.Not everyones cup of tea to be done at home on the driveway. Thats what i feared :( ........i'll see if i can get someone to do it for me for cash.....either that or its getting booked into the garage :gag: -

Wullie was good enough to come down and have a wee look.......and his thoughts are that its possibly the release bearing? Anyone any experience of one of these failing, symptoms etc? Cheers Martin
