  1. Ha ha, thanks mate, it's murder trying to keep on top of all the stuff I have, plus the heating is magic in the winter, makes it a pleasure to be out lying under a car when it's -2 outside. Plus, that's only half the garage  and there are also 2 sheds
  2. Got a few bits done on the forgotten Twilight in my quest to get it out the Garage, rear hubs reassembled using the stuff from the Red vr, just so I can get wheels on. Cracked the bolts on the subframe.....why 18mm bolts??? and unbolted the steering rack. Engine mounts unbolted. I'll drop it off tomorrow and if I'm lucky time wise I'll try and start putting the front all back on.
  3. 45 Got my first one about 2002/2003 I guess, haven't looked back :) Edit: looks like I joined up here in 2006, which would make it more likely to be late 2003/2004
  4. Ha ha, the things you find when you start looking:)
  5. I am mate, cars like yours are what us mere mortals aspire to :)
  6. Picture Framer but play with the cars for fun, it's mostly nuts n bolts in reality:)
  7. We can discuss it next week once you are back home mate :)
  8. They are going in the Storm, there is a few light scuffs in the plastic window but not too bad, can't see them unless the light catches them. I still want another set for the red VR6
  9. Cheers guys, I got offered them from a guy on Facebook, I'm fairly sure he's not on here, although without a user name I can't be sure. I put the same wanted ad up on there months ago and had really given up on it. I would love to have bought yours mate, as you know but these came in a bit cheaper.
  10. Been fairly busy doing some of the less fun jobs, stripping the interior out of the Twilight vr, including the carpet so I could get to the heated seat loom........not a nice job really. Also put the rear beam on it as it's coming closer to the time that it needs to vacate the garage as the Storm can't stay in the paint shop forever. Also set about stripping the rear beam on the red vr, if it wasn't for Irwins I'd have given up this car malarkey years ago:lol: Rear brake carrier bolts are horrible But I did manage to lay my hands on something I've been after for a while 8)
  11. I do mate, would you like to collect seeing as you are local? :)
  12. Are you planning on tidying up the beam before refitting it? If so you might like to remove the brackets that the beam secures to, to give them a tidy, 3 bolts each side for the brackets. One big nut and bolt that secures the beam to the brackets. Another thing to note is that the bias valve will likely have to come off as is obstructs the big bolt from sliding out that side, (unless the bolt is fitted round the wrong way). You'll also need the bolts that go through the bottom of the shocks into the beam, one each side and hope the captive nut stays in place(not a big deal if not but makes the removal of the bolt awkward(you can see the nut at the rear of the beam in the holes). That is it I guess if you are leaving the brakes alone, but best prepare for any of the brake fittings being difficult to remove
  13. No, still got a couple left mate, I'll fire you a PM
  14. Definitely not standard, any more pictures of them?
  15. Of course mate, PM on the way :)
  16. My parts car/breaker is the same, early heaters etc and same seats, also came with the same wheels
  17. Yes, got a couple left, PM sent :)
  18. Ha ha, good luck mate. I find a helper to pull on the handle invaluable as it makes the tweaking a lot easier:)
  19. Exactly that mate, I'm sure you'll get there, and like all these things, you'll have a better understanding of how it works :)
  20. By pushing that side over, you may have pulled on the drivers side
  21. Can you get someone to pull the cable handle, so you can look down the hole/holes to see if the release mechanism is moving, and to see if both have equal movement. Just in case the passenger side one isn't sitting right?
