Here you go, emergency ignition bypass http://www.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?3167-Emergency-Ignition-Switch-Bypass&highlight=Ignition%20bypass%20Hotwire

Got a wee cutting session in earlier, also managed to make a few cardboard templates up for the bits I need to replace, if only I could weld in cardboard  I've done the same with a few of the smaller bits but there is a big one that cardboard just isn't any good for :) So I'll need to cut out the exact shape

Before I drop the sump , for the wishbone bolt .....
easypops replied to robrado974's topic in Engine Bay
As I've lost/misplaced my breaker bar, I've been using a 4ft pipe on the end of my ratchet, and the advantage it gives you is amazing. Still to try the subframe bolts but my only worry is that I snap one -

I've ordered one of these, just so I can drop the subframe, wishbones/hubs all in one go.......sounds easy when you say it fast  And I've lost my breaker bar :( -
I've got a car sitting with the dash removed which you are welcome to look at to guage what's needed to get to the heater box etc, also got a box sitting about and a set or 2 of heater controls. Fairly sure you could answer all your questions without the pain of taking yours apart :)

I was wondering the same thing, then I found a set of stainless steel bolts for the sump I bought years ago, so it'll be coming off :) I don't think you want to be cutting the head off as I'm not sure you get to see the other end? -
So, I had a couple of hours this afternoon and as I'm still waiting on the bolts etc for the front underside I thought I'd have a wee play with the dents/rusty bits. The sill at the drivers door had quite a few chips along the edge, easy enough to grind back and paint over right? It's a Corrado so not a chance :( Small chips Thought I should remove the sill cover as I didn't want to get it messy, found these bits  After drying my tears I gave them a poke/grind/kick  So not nice but at least it'll give my comedy welding skills a good workout :) And I have a nice bit in the breaker to cut the relevant bits from. Time has run out again as I won't get back to it until later on and by then it's too late to be cutting and grinding, I'll just need to prep and hit all the welding at one time Breaker

I know exactly how you feel guys, it'll be worth it once they are done and hopefully it will mean some trouble free motoring for a while . Interior is looking great Rob 8)

Thank you mate, I don't know how to do the embarrassed smilie :)
-
Great , thanks, I'll add these to me back order. I wouldn't mind a set of those black rivets lol, happy to pay you though :)
-
No mate, it's just an old cable tie, it's not my doing, just on a spare slam panel I picked up :)
-
I know what you mean, I've been in contact with Anna quite a few times this week, and have a few things on back order, if you had a part number that would be magic :)
-
Looking good 8) Possibly silly question, where did you get the small square bit the bonnet hook hits, dealer?

After market upgraded CV inner and outer joint and drive shaft kits.

Very fast delivery, I ordered a set on Tuesday, arrived Wednesday:)......fitted someday  -
Jim, Here are the pictures of the bit under the slam panel,as you'll see it's basically just a bit of cable sheathing with ends on it and some foam spacers, should be fairly easy to make one I'd think......I've ordered some ends so will likely try one out. Length is 790mm Foam spacers
-
I'll take it if culshaw doesn't want it :)
-
Should be easy enough to fashion something out of your old cable mate, I'll also take an accurate measurement of it
-
I ordered one recently(Sunday) and I got a message to say it has been dispatched
-
I'll fire up a picture of it later on mate, it is as you describe, the same as the cable sheathing with a metal end on each side plus a 3 foam type spacers to stop it rattling I guess
-
Nice one Jim, thanks for the feedback, I have full confidence in mine now, well I will have when I put the front end back on :)
-
Welcome along mate, it is a very nice car you have 8)
-
Yes mate, PM coming your way :)
-
That'll be the ones mate, thank you. I'm not sure if I qualify as an enthusiast, more of a loony  I don't usually worry how long these jobs take but I want to get back to driving a Corrado again so I'm gonna push away until this is done, which will allow me to get rid of another car,my Audi daily, which will equal brownie points:)
