  1. Yan, did you have any joy with finding a manufacturer? I'm tempted to start looking into it, but don't want to step on your feet.
  2. Hmm, has the heater matrix been changed or is the spare thrown in with the sale? If it has never been changed then chances are it will need doing soon. If the matrix is included in the sale then perhaps the original is on the way out? it is a dashboard out job to replace, but you could use it to negotiate the price.
  3. Spotted a nice looking VR6 on the M23. I think it was ice grey violet, nice looking colour. We exchanged waves and proceeded in mini-convoy down the M23 till the M25 :)
  4. Looks like Kev has got his Christmas lights up early! :) Amazing stuff!
  5. If anyone is interested LIDL are selling self-adhesive door protectors for use in garages. I just bought one and it looks pretty good, not mega-thick, but i might double-layer it using staples. Not bad for the price. http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_25048.htm
  6. Another Corrado owner in Crawley here! That may have been me as I am not far from Balcombe Road!

    SWG scuttle panel

I've got a SWG scuttle panel that I bought in a group buy sometime last year. I've decided I am going to keep my Corrado as standard as possible so will be selling the scuttle panel. If you are interested let me know and I will find out how much i paid for it originally and I'll get back to you with a price.
  8. I'd guess at either the immobiliser (if you have a late VR) or idle stabilisation valve. Try giving the connector to the immobiliser a squirt of WD40. Its a small black box under the dash near the fuse box. If you do a search on here I'm sure you'll find pics or a better description. If it's the ISV you can try giving it a clean with carb cleaner, again there are loads of threads on here with pics of where to find the ISV as it is a pretty common problem.
  9. I may have a second hand one in good condition. I will see if I can dig it out and check the part number.
  10. Another big thumbs up for Andy from Trim Wizard. He fitted a Cobra alarm for me yesterday. Top job and really knows his stuff! He was very complimentary about the condition of my Corrado too :)
  11. Cool, Did a quick search and it does seem that I should be ok. I'll take a punt on it.
  12. Andrew, sounds good to me. I will PM you for payment details. Presumably this is the same as a Corrado sunroof motor? The part number I am after is 535-959-731. The only difference to the part number in the photo is the first part - 1HO vs 535. That just distinguishes if it is for Golf/Corrado right? Cheers, Dan
  13. I'm looking for a Rockwell sunroof motor in known working condition. Does anyone have one? Dan
  14. Ah, thanks Tony. That would explain it! Now you mention it I think I remember a spare plug sitting round there. Cheers.
  15. Thought I would attach a photo...... The end circled blue plugs into the ash try light. Anyone know where the end circled in red plugs into? Cheers
  16. Can anyone tell me where the other end of the ash tray loom plugs into? On the ash tray end the plug goes into the bulb holder, I am tracing back the loom and have a plug on the other end that is not plugged into anything. I had the dashboard out for a matrix change last year and I must have forgotten to plug this back in. Any help appreciated!
  17. No, I got them from ARZ-Tuning in Germany for 59EUR. I think the prices are about the same as the dealers (maybe even cheaper from the dealers?) but as I was getting lots of small trim pieces from ARZ I got the lenses too as I didn't have time to stop by the dealers. They are right-hand drive Hella OEM lenses and identical to the originals - minus the crack and pit marks of course! Thankfully my reflectors are still in pretty good condition so just gave them a quick clean.
  18. I replaced the headlight lenses today as one was cracked and they were looking pretty tired. I gave the light units a good clean-up while I was there and replaced the rusted screws. The photos probably don't do it justice, but it all looks a lot fresher at the front end now. I just need to get the stone-chips sorted now!
  19. The underneath looks stunning! Looks like a new car!
  20. If you're after something to get you motoring again for the weekend I have an old coilpack you can use temporarily. It was starting to miss a bit when wet and cold, but worked perfectly when warmed up. I want to keep hold of it in the long run as it might come in useful for troubleshooting in the future, but it's yours to use for a few weeks if its any use. I'm in West Sussex, so not a million miles away.
  21. Got my tax disc today after having the C SORN'd for the last couple of months (it was tucked up nice and dry in the garage). Gave everything a quick check over and it fired up and ran perfectly. Went for a drive in it which was great. It made me realise how nice it is to drive. Looking forward to getting it tidied-up for Summer. I have got loads of tidying up to do on the interior following the matrix replacement last year.
  22. Yep, thats where the pump is located. I have circled it below. I think they do generally make a bit of noise. If you do a search there is probably a way of testing the pump, but if it is making a racket then it sound like it may have had it. dscf0093.jpg[/attachment:1ult1yob]
