Ron's Blackberry VR6 - A11 VRX - Getting her back on the road

This is not going to help you but coming from VRT to a standard VR I couldnt believe how slow a standard car is. However you soon get used to it and you just have to realise that there are a lot of other cars quicker than you. Plus you can drive the car hard and not worry about doing sill speeds all over the place. Your standard brakes are fine and I would say on the whole the car is more reliable. If you like having a car that make you laugh with speed then keep the charger IMO. If not then maybe an NA car is for you. -
Ideally looking for a nice set of Solitudes with good tyres. Im in no hurry as the car will just be sitting about most of the winter and next track days arent until Feb/March.
-
Wider helps but tyre make is probably more important. 17's are fine and allow you to put bigger brakes on but which you need on a charged/turboed car. For my stockish car I dont need anymore that 288's and the track day tyres are a lot cheaper in 15in.
-
Hi, as nice as they are I would be looking for something straight 5x100 as the plan is to do more trackdays so I will be either using my 15's for the track tyres or what ever people swap (why I mentioned 15's tswap to) The plan is to swap out road for track wheels at the track easily.
-
£750 for the whole lot. I can possibly travel a little to meet if that suits someone. May be interested in a swap + cash my way.

Nice, good base car to start with and great colour of I do say so myself.... Pretty much what mine was like when I go it.
-
Lol, it is funny. Welcolme back. Im looking at houses with tha aim to get a big garage and Ive pretty much promised myself if I do that I will give the car a proper going over. Slightly modded is the way to go now, mine has been pretty much fault free in the couple of years Ive had it.

Was treated to a few inches this morning (oh er) an the drive to work. Great fun in the new beemer daily.
-
Thing is they have jack all room inside. Hateful cars IMO.

Well had the car out on Saturday for the first time in a good while. Started first time no bother and took it for a blast. Still good fun. Had my Audi on the dyno on Saturday after a map tweak and fitting some biggers intercoolers. Results were VERY good. Basically 498bhp and 420ftlbs. Not too shabby. A couple of vids for your enjoyment. -
Some (slightly) better photos. Found that one of the rears has a little rash on the rim as well. 5th wheels is still in the box. I might now consider swaps for some VR6 Solitudes or other 15in VR wheels.

Thats not diesel though...

Mine sit in standard arches and dont rub at a fairly low height. Mine are also almost new and have one little blemish plus I have a set of 5. Selling for various reasons to be honest.
-
Nope, not my thing sorry. Idealy want to sell outright.
-
Not really, im trying to get some space back in the garage and raise some money for other reasons. What do you have?

Compomotive MO's in grey Compotive finish. 8x17in, 5x100, ET35 Bought new this year, have been on the car for around 500miles. I have FIVE of them so there is a spare. Reason for this is they sent me one that was not completely identical to the others so I took another one to keep the odd one as a spare. Its very hard to notice any difference. One does have a chip out the paint on the rim. Centres caps were painted matt black and may need doing again. Going to ask for £650 for the 5 wheels. 4 of them brand new from compomotive would be around £1000. Currently fitted with 4 tyres which I may let go with them for an extra £250. They are all Pirelli Pzero Nero's with about 6mm on all. I will try and get better photos at the weekend of the wheels. Based in Aberdeen [/url

Assuming the box has gone then? I did PM you about this on 3rd November on VR6OC.

Do the Yanks do everything different? - VRT??

They also had some 12v Mk4's as well and remember there is a difference between RHD and LHS bay set ups. I wouldnt bother with it. -
Use insurance and watch them do it.
