  1. Id heard they are the 4mo block minus a cyl with an effective R32 head. Surely the internal components are the same as the 2.8VR. I wouldnt be looking at mega HP (350ish) if I was doing this so a spacer gasket with standard internals and standard intake should suffice. You can also use the gearbox from some as it has lower ratios. I realise some custom bits like the manifold and downpipe would be needed but I think it would be a cool little project.
  2. You certianly notice a difference with them on but no more than any other 17's Ive had to be honest. I couldnt use my 15's as I still have tyres on from the last track day in Nov 2011 and they wouldnt have lasted. Defo needs some appropriate tyres as I was so slow in the corners compared to others because of that. Most other cars were track dedicated or with silly power so I was a bit of a mobile chicance. There was a newish GTR that was unbelievably quick and sounded flippin amazing, still wouldnt have one though.
  3. Thanks but it needs a lot if tidying up which will happen just not at the moment. Performed well on track if it a little slow. Standard gearing is bollocks for the track to be honest and road tyres just cant cope with the weight. On a positive side the brakes ducts and DS2500's performed very well, didnt have any fade at all. Also the baffled sump seems to have helped with oil temp as even on a long stint in hot weather the max I saw was 126c and normally ran about 120c that is with standard oil cooling system. Compare that to last track day on a Novemeber day where it would go to 130c quite quickly. Someone found a quick pick of me, I took out the drivers side headlight after this to help get some colder air to the air filter. Really needs a 3.68FD and some trackday tyres on the standard wheels.
  4. That is quite cool. Well done folks. Beat the Scottish version in Sat by a long way, there was only two of us lol.
  5. Cheers, good to meet you and your car was stunning. Should have come and asked for run. Tyres and lack of power were really noticeable today. Im sunburnt and knackered.
  6. Fitted the brake cooling vents today in prep for trackday tomorrow.
  7. Thats why Ive kept all my standard bits in the garage. Not that I plan on selling but if need must...
  8. Well they arent going any lower thats for sure and if you look on the likes of Pistonheads there is a lot less for sale. Supply will go down so naturally prices should remain as they are if not improve slightly I would have thought.
  9. Paid, its okay I'll get the scotch cloth out to dull them.
  10. This Saturday folks. I'll be down early as we need to sign on about 9am then in and out the pits for the first couple of hours. Weathers looking good as well, hopefully not to hot though. Whos still coming? Might be space in the main bit beside the cafe but if not there is usually space down at the hairpin.
  11. Anyone know of a V5 fitted to a C? Got to thinking last night if I ever go down the power route with my car I would fancy doing something a bit differenent and though about a turbo'd V5. It should just be the same as any 24v V6 engine I would have thought with some custom exhaust mani's required.
  12. Another one comes back. Did you / still have the B7 RS4?
  13. Looks like a good fit. Can they do them non polished?
  14. Ah but you have the uber quiet 24v compared to the tractor like 12v so its probably not needed to supress any noise. Paint shouldnt be affected either.
  15. DS2500's in, pads that were in were shat hence the disc. Wheels are on, they look ace. No pics yet though.
  16. Mmm, Im visiting my brother in Poole next month, I could send it down and pick it up while Im there. Send his details on please.
  17. It more for track based things to be honest and wanting to keep the interior looking OEM. I believe you can just do it over existing wheel. Who did yours?
  18. Looks good. I do love a silver Mk2, prefer the small bumpers now. My first Gti was diamond silver and would love another for nostalgic reasons.
  19. Anybody done this on a standard wheel? I have a couple spare and I really like the one in my RS4 so might get one re-trimmed with this.
  20. I intend on keeping mine for a long time and slowly doing it up and even then I dont think £3k would be near what I would pay for a respray. Again its all relative to the cars cost IMO. Mine has a few bits needing done, a few bumper scrapes etc but Ive just treated it and touched it in as best I could. I find that better as with new paint you will be over protective.
  21. Nope the hangers fell apart from the standard exhaust so had to remove the lot. Not going to national day, I have a trackday at Knockhill that day and hopefully some other fello Corrado owners will be there for a mini meet.
  22. Thanks, yeah it should look good. Should get the wheels back tomorrow with tyres on. Managed to fit the exhaust tonight, god I forgot how much adjustment they need. Still not right but sounds good. Also finally managed to fit my Dave 16v short shift, nice improvement.
  23. 8x17, ET35. Same as the previous group buy. Yeah they are awesome and will work well as the car will be more track style focused. Techtonics exhaust and DS2500's going on tonight. Glad they are grey so its different from Goldie's car.
