Howdoo, where abouts are you? If your offshore then you'll have plenty of time to come up with plans for spending money on it!!
-
I know what you mean about the weight, RC are one of the lightest 17's you can get. Im undecided to be honest, both look good. The chrome caps on the RC's really help. I think a 10mm spacer on the rear would make them fill the arches more.

Cant wait to see the side on with the two different wheels. At least it will let me decide which way to go.
-
Im assuming 16's as a minimum for wheels?

Mmm nah I dont have issues with heights at all. I dont feel scared.

[eBay] MK3 Golf VR6 with 2,670 miles on the clock...
coullstar replied to Jim's topic in Ebay and Misc
Yeah I dont get it to be honest, especially not at that price. Its good to have nice expamles of older cars around but on the whole on something exotic or rare, A Mk3 VR6 is not rare. -
I saw this, quite cool I thought. Just goes to show we are all wired differently. One thing that Ive noticed is that when Im at the top of sheer drops like that I have this little thing inside me thats wonders what it would be like if i jumped. Some other folks Ive spoken to said the same.

The magazine must be very old or there is one insane person out there. £17k is madness.

Nice one. Original box is secured using two thick rubber bands IIRC. -
Ive had one of them. Tough little beasts. Its right in Perth by the way, click on the map tab. Only problem is Im not that near Im afraid. As long as its been serviced and he had evidence I would say its okay as there little goes wrong with them. Just ask him to take loads of photos of it and maybe a video of it running/revving.

Where exactly and what bike is it?

Procurment is the new IT! Ive seen it so much in the past few years as they hold the purse strings, the problem is they drive our margins down so much that we almost dont want to do the work and cannot support it as good as we could have so they have more issues. Fecking bean counters.

Or just take a small bit of wood in the boot and drive onto that if you need to use it. I bought a Clarke 2.25ton from ebay recently with the handle acting as a wheel bolt spanner and two sockets. Its doing fine so far and like the soft cover for the jacking point.

Check the wire with the fuse under the rear seats isnt loose. Im pretty sure thats to do with the fuel pump set up.
-
No spacers. I actually think that the chrome centre caps are the best but good luck finding a set of those. Ive actually gone with VW centre badges.
-
Heres some I found and one of mine when I had them on without the caps. Agree that shiney wheels dont suit the silver.
-
Ive had 3 Msport cars in recent years and have to agree on the way they drive out the box, brilliant. Currently on an 08 E91 320d Touring and its brilliant. We are however getting away from budget here. Same old thing, go and drive the cars and see what you think.
-
Lol, I was just away to swap the MO's to the Golf and put my RC's back on, snap. Im assuming you got the caps etc with them? RC's are a timless wheel on the Corrado.
-
Mk5's rust quite badly on the arches and tailgate. Body itself is generally okay but to be honest a lot of cars that age are a bit crap in that respect. Badge snobbery or not Id choose a Golf over an Octavia, its simply a better car when everythings taken into account.
-
Depends on resell as well. Maye be more for the Golf in the first place but they command more when you sell.
-
Basically a map is good enough. Maybe R32 front brakes, H&R springs. I actually think they handle better on the 17in wheels as well. One of the few cars that Ive owned out the box that I didnt think needed changing. Nice to haves would be winter pack, xenons, touch screen headunit, cruise and armrest. They have thier faults like all cars but they are easy enough to rectifiy.
-
If its your only car then a Mk5 Gti is a far better car than the Corrado. They do rust though. £5k sounds like it will be high mileage. I didnt realise they were getting that low. Id happily own another, few wee tweeks and they are a brilliant all rounder.
