  1. Sorted, replacement wheel on the way but not in time for the 20th so I'll just put the odd one on for now.
  2. I hope your steering wheel is held on by more that what it looks like in that photo!!!
  3. Weel wheels arrived yesterday, was all set to get tyres on today so took them out to check everything over. As you can probably see from colour all is not right with one of them, will see what they say about that. Few other little things as well.
  4. Murray's worked his way to where he is, I wouldnt compare him to Button or Coulthard as they were both lucky with the machines they had. Andy has done all the work to get where he is. He is a dour bugger which doesnt help with his popularity but none of them have much of that these days. The last 4 grand slams he has played in he has been in the final and now holds two so Id say he is pretty **** hot and a one Britain (mainly Scotland ;)) should be proud of.
  5. 6 branch and decat are why yours will sound more tinny/raspy. De-cats not worth it IMO and I think the 6 branch as been proven to make very little difference as well. Bore size, silencer size and tailpipe all have a lot to do with noise. Std systems were not that restrictive and are 2.25in bore I think. 2.5in is probably as big as you would want to go on an N/A engine. ---------- Post added at 2:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:14 PM ---------- 6 branch and decat are why yours will sound more tinny/raspy. 6. Deal. I'll sort out picking them up.
  7. Very nice, BBS wheel is a nice touch.
  8. Powerflex bushes included in the 30% deal?
  9. Where do the brake cooling wings fit? Trying to picture them fitted. If its helps cool brakes I'll take them.
  10. I think Bedrock might still be around, they are Glasgow way. Whats the spec? The only part I can see for tuning is the map so you could send the ECU to some to get a map put on. Its not perfect but in reality its probably best idea.
  11. Well I'll find out tomorrow night, grinder/cutter is coming out.
  12. Still getting ready for 20th for the VW trackday. Ive got some DS2500 pads on the way after almost deciding to fit the Brembo's from the Golf onto the C. Im still taking them off the Golf though and keeping the 17in RC's on it. Only exhaust, gearbox oil, short shift and brake ducts to fit before the track day in a couple of weeks. I picked up a set of genuine Santa Monica's which I was away to get my tyres fitted to on Monday but luckily the tyre guy I use was away. I say luckily as I came back to work, went on ebay, found some nicer wheels and won the auction last night for a decent price. I'll update when I get them but it will be a sense of de-javu.
  13. You have the opposite to what Im thinking of doing. I want to keep CAT, front section and suitcase section and remove just the back box. The suitcase does a lot of the silencing I think so when you remove it it will be loud as you have found. It was just soemthing I thought about this moring and remembered a back box splittling at the axle section on a Mk2 and it not being as loud as I thought it would be. Asthetically it would need a pipe to exit out the back IMO.
  14. Valid point however when the cars are generally only worth £3k on average people need to take that into consideration. I sure as hell wouldnt put £2000 wheels on my Corrado or £1000 seats in, hell and wouldnt even put them on my Audi. Yes they are rare and yes they are nice but it has to be relative to the intended car as well.
  15. Im still on course for this, few things left to do to the car. Might even wash and polish it for the day!!
  16. Im actually looking at another set right now. :) RC's are on the Golf although I did get some cheap genuine Santa Monica's as well. I understand why people ask these prices but surely its getting to a point where the items cannot be used as they will loose thier value, whats the point in that.
  17. £1200 cloth seats, £2500 wheels. Theres originality, rareness and then there is taking the ****. The thing is the standard seats are more than good enough.
  18. I was going to be removing the standard exhaust soon and to this requires cutting the rear box off. That got me to thinking has anyone ever run thier car without the back box on but with the suitcase section still there? I believe the noise level will not increase as much as you would first think. I may do this and make a straight pipe section, that way if I wanted to put the rear standard box back on its a very simple sleeve and clamp. That leads to another question about exhaust exists, do they have to exit at the car body?
  19. A B5 RS4 motor taken out to 3l with about 1.5 bar of boost will see these sort of numbers so I would hope that there will be some good tuning potential with this one to get more. Ive put this up before but here's a comparison between a standardish VR6, my old VRT and my RS4 with the 2.7TT engine before map tweak. All on the same dyno. Just shows you what the twin turbo set up can do.
  20. We can live in hope but I doubt that will ever happen. This will be for uber barges only I suspect. This is the engine the new RS4 should have had.
  21. Oooo, bit like Borbet C / ATS.
