From what I can remember the 6mm offset is due to the Mk4 discs offset therefore if I use the LCR calipers/brackets and discs then they should all align. Thats what I wanted to check i.e. that I didnt need a different caliper bracket.
-
Okay I have a couple of questions regarding these brakes. I have a Mk4 Golf 4motion that has the LCR set up i.e. 323mm discs and 4pot Brembo. My plan is to remove these and put the kit on the Corrado so Im assuming that the caliper brackets will work on the Corrado as well? Also are the hardline hose connections the same on the C as on the Mk4 to prevent me having to get new lines? I was looking at using the 288's calipers from the Corrado and sourcing the 312mm carriers/discs as I believe the calipers are the same, is that correct? Would be good to get this done ASAP as I have a trackday looming and the Brembos would be ace to have on!!

It does look like a nice example. Brembo's do look good, more and more tempted to put them on mine now.

Lucky number 7 - sold but 911 in its place

They feel better but I dont know what pads are in. I asked a while back and it would seem the jump to 312 from 288 is not worth the hassle of not being able to run standard wheels. Just get good quality discs and pads. Yeah the Audi wheels are okay but they weigh 22kg+ with tyre which is rediculous for a 17in wheel. Im either going light(er)weight 17's or try and get some 8in RC's. Tried a friend a set had and they were lighter than these things by a mile and lighter than the 7.5in ones that come on the Anniversary golfs. Just goes to show OEM wheels are generally shat cast heavy whoors. -

Yeah the Alfa interior was a nice place to be but almost too nice for a daily car. The car has the adjustable Koni's, only issue with 3dr seats is they sit too high. The Techtonics is 2nd hand affair that was for sale on here a while back, I have one on the 24v and love the simplicity of them. Its the rear box with small mid box so might be a little louder. I think Im going to put the standard exhaust and brakes on the 4mo as there a bit too much for everyday use. -
Looks nice, is it running right yet?

I just used Goodridge late Mk3 banjo type. Brakes are better now after running the car last week. Little update on the daily car. I traded the 130i a couple of months back for an Alfa 159 Ti saloon. Really nice car but I just couldnt live with the saloon impracticallity and it was acutally quite bad on fuel for being a diesel. It was therefore punted on and I didnt really loose any money so Im back to VW's and a car I know well, a Mk4 4motion. Picked this one up a week ago now. Its has Koni/eibach, H&R arbs, Supersprint exhaust, blue haldex controller, LCR front brakes, full heated leather, R32 wheel and a few other bits and bobs. Its not mint but that whats I need as its essentially a daily hack. Ive removed the R32 trim / pedals and there getting sold on as its too bling for me. The RC's from the Corrado have been put on as the wheels it came with were on winter tyres but I had to use 15mm spacers and the BBS stick out too far so Im on the look out for some subtle 17's that clear the brakes. Corrado is getting the Techtonics put on in the next week or so and it really needs alignment dont so I hope to get that done before the track day in July. -
Yep they are awesome, thats what Ive got.

Classic look. Quick question about the Rota's and the brakes. Ive picked up a Mk4 4motion with LCR brembo's and I was looking at the Rota's, did they clear okay with no spacers? I may put the 4mo brakes back to standard and put the LCR's on the Corrado but then again its good to be able to use standard wheels.

Theres still plenty of the old hands on here. I like the sound of the Lotus, Im assuming its a TTRS engine your using? -
Good work, I kept it clean but never really polished / detailed it. Its amazing how it shines when clean though.
-
Bugger, the one I have is only 800x448, dont think it would work.

Do the photos supplied have to be a minimum size?

Never been to this and would love to see it but I think a couple of days would do me. I know its a biker mecca but I think Id rather go to the North West, sadly I missed that trip when I punted my bike down the road a few days before. 2 years since my last road bike and 6 months since I sold my race bike and Im not missing it in the slightest to be honest. Mugello GP is another must, the Italians are nuts!!!

The tailpipe has too much angle and needs to be slash cut style IMO.

Ususal suspects.

Good to see it back safe and sound. That sounds about the right MPG I got on the way to Inters a few years ago. What was the A/F readings when on the motorway and when you give it some boost? I used to take the lambda and A/F probe out to clean them every now and again. I put a fairly new Lambda probe in before I sold it. Best way to check is by the checking the plugs, thats what I did. It is an awsome car and Im glad its being looked after. Better running a bit rich than the other way as it will do things like this every now and again skip to 1m30, was getting held up on the back straight and back off for a nice pop of flame @ 2m 15ish

He sold it last year, Goldie has it now. I think your G60 went to scotland and was painted in frosted grey that the new M3 comes in.

I would put it on ebay with all that info to see what interest you get.

10.9 and 12.9 do come in zinc coated that look stainless. I think this is more to do with where the bolts are and what the thread is exposed to than the head. As said, heat + plusgas and that will help a lot.
