He's tried 2 types.

Can't find the receipt from my vr6 rebuild but I recently bought timing chains & tensioners for r32 and that was 220 from avs. Give them a call, they are absolutely spot on and all parts are febi so good stuff Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Don't want to rule out column, definitely worth a try but it turns fine when wheels are off the ground Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

We took them apart and the bearings were not great but regardless the steering would still have given it a go, there's absolutely nothing. I cracked the pipe between the left/right pot and main rack pot whilst in lock and there was no pressure at all Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Yea, one of them came off my vr6 when I changed engines so I know that works but after changing every part in the system we can't assume anything works. The thing that makes me think it's the pump is that the engine note doesn't change, there is no straining or anything when moving the wheel so if it was top mount or something it would at least try. I'm thinking its damaged pressure relief valve, if that can happen Not sure if Phil has access to pressure testing equipment. Would definitely be a good idea Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Not sure to be honest, thought Phil might be along to update but he's tried 2 different racks and same with both. All I'm thinking is it has to be pump Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

If I remember I'll measure mine tonight, its double and I've had 2 cars plus crap either side. The standard parking space is 2.4m wide by 4.8m if I remember correctly so 5.3m is a fair size. I used to be a planner myself and went on to architectural drawings so if you need any assistance give me a shout. I would think with the right design the planners could be persuaded to allow the width, you can submit plans for a 'pre-application' discussion. If I remember I'll take a look at permitted development rights, haven't done a side extension for a while but they massively increased it a while ago.

Yea, no difference, not even a slight wine. Just spoke to Phil and said he made sure high pressure pipe was clear before he put it on Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I don't think you can get them the wrong way round, certainly don't seem that way but happy to be proven wrong Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

He's tried the original, one that came off my car that was 100% working and a brand new one. As far as I'm aware it does require some resistance when manually bleeding, its supposed to be a self bleeding system but we are trying not to assume anything about the system. Do you know where the pressure relief valve is? I was told its behind the high pressure line in the rack but it was a royal git to get back in and I got covered in fluid so want to make sure before going at things with spanners again.

Jacked it up and turns fine, it was my thought but you can turn the actual wheel by hand (not steering wheel) when you take the weight off. The strange thing is, if it was something like top mount the pump would groan or something but engine note sounds exactly the same Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

So philuk has been having problems with no power steering. I popped over to have a look today and I'm about stumped as well. He had the rack reconditioned, it's had a new pump and changed pipes, still the same. There's absolutely no noise/whining of any sort and no power steering at all, it's the same engine off and on. We tried to manually Bleed the rack today and we think we have fluid everywhere that needs to be and we've got all the air out we could. We held the rack in lock and cracked the pipe to the chamber (the short hard line) but didn't seem like there was any pressure there. The only thing I can think is that the pressure relief valve is stuck open or the pump isn't working fully so it's circulating but not pressurizing. Anyone have any clues or advice? Good luck with the sale, as above it's been an inspiration for me and my build. The attention to detail has always been amazing, someone is going to get an amazing car Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

You can easily find the break with a voltmeter by checking resistance. If it is a broken wire either solder it back together or use a duraseal connector. As said, changing the full loom is a mammoth task! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Corrado Club National Day 2017 date fixed

Steal the sliders off the mk4 for a weekend! Seems weird that though, never heard of it happening before. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Amazing! My mum made me a cake for my 30th, you are never too old for your mum to make you a corrado cake! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

You could always have a crack at doing it yourself, there's a full thread over on clubgti. Wiring is similar to a 24v conversion, I've briefly looked at it and seems simple! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

3rd brake light - Vauxhall Vectra (bear with me...!)
swiftkid replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in Interior
Just get a multi meter and get someone to press the brake light, be quicker than going through all the wiring diagrams Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Agree its not conclusive but worth a check, mine was a late 4 pin maf and my engine note had a definite note change if it was working. It would splutter a little then go back to normal. Also you may have noticed reduced fuel economy with faulty maf, worth plugging it in to vagcom though although I've always found maf has a tendency to cause a lambda fault to pop up Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Sounds exactly like when my MAF went. Nice easy test, warm it up and unplug MAF, if engine note changes theoretically its working if not take it for a drive and see if it makes any improvement as ECU will go to base map.

Spotted a couple over the last week, nice red vr6 parked up in plymouth on Wednesday for the firework competition. Saw someone was sat in it but was with my girlfriend and in-laws so couldn't say hi. Also on my way back up north saw a lovely dark vr6 with crystal rear lights. Followed me into the 50mph zone near Nottingham, gave a thumbs up but don't think you saw me in my beemer. Haha top work! Looks tidy, we can't even say welcome back seeing as the dust is still settling from the last corrado leaving Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Hope you don't mind me asking but how much did you pay for the long life? I've got a miltek 2.25" system but I'm wanting a 2.5" system to help it breathe a bit better Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I always nab them from scrapyard, got a couple now so that's my retirement money sorted Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
