Yes, they are fine to use. Same as what I'm using

Silver g60 J***OJN last night just before 11pm on M5 Bridgwater. Think it was a g60, was quite dark but could just about make out the supercharged badge. Followed you through the roadworks in an A3 then you turned off at junction before morrisons depot. Apologies if my lights were dazzling, just installed xenons and think they are pointing to the sky! Saw this today, very sad to hear. Never met him but always seemed a really nice genuine guy on the forum etc. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I'm fairly sure to get the intermittent wiper you just need to swap a relay if it's early rado. Relay 99 I think Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Stolen from here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?30764-Secret-computer! "With key in the ignition hold the MFA button in with the slider on 1. Start the car then turn off then re-start....secret computer is now activated! Look at the computer on the dash then press the MFA button. Instead of MPG and stuff like that you will now get a digital rev counter, vacuum reading and other fun stuff...some stuff will stay the same like the time. Whilst the engine is still running put the MFA switch to 2 and more fun stuff, i dont know what it all means but different figures come up. Like i said its all done by holding the MFA button in whilst you turn the car on then off then back on again. I was told there is a digi speedo but i have not found it! The digi rev counter works great and looks good too! The secret computer will carry on working until the car is turned off, then it goes back to normal." In position 1: 1 Engine map code 2 Country code 3 speedo drive ratio 4 upper rpm limit 5 lower rpm limit 6 deceleration fuel shut off pressure 7 segment test In position 2: 1 Test sum of programmed bytes 2 intake mainfold vacuum/pressure 3 engine rpm 4 momentary fuel comsuption 5 signal from speed sensor 6 oil temperature 7 ambient temperature sensor

Yes, my toad alarm does it, such a brilliant feature. There was a thread a while ago with all the magic things a corrado does! With the stalk if you click to intermittent then back to off, leave them off for however long you want the delay then turn it back on et voila, delay set! MAGIC! But did you know about the super secret MFA? :norty:

You don't need to pay to join the forum, it's membership. Have you got Facebook? Vr6oc are usually quite active on there and I'm sure it's just been overlooked. I know Pete is usually pretty quick to sort any issues. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Speak to Mr sexy bourbon, aka Matt. He was selling them a while ago I think Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

As above, Wossner is the usual one I head of for VR's. I read a while ago Kev saying his used to rattle a bit on startup but as far as I'm aware thats to be expected. Oil choice is a big one as you can't just slap any old rubbish in. What are you looking to achieve? High compression for N/A, low compression for turbo or just boring it out? If its just boring it out, there was a guy selling a set on here a while ago and when you added everything up, the cost of going 3.0 compared to the power you get wasn't that great. Obviously turbo/charger applications are different but that's n/a

That looks stunning! very tidy engine install. I remember sitting with all the wiring in front of me and thinking "why do I hate myself". Interesting you used the DSG, how do you find that gearbox in the rado?
-
You shouldn't need to do any modifications, you should just be able to adjust the cables from the gearbox end as ends are adjustable. Mine certainly needed adjustment. Question though, when you installed your shifter did the cables rest against the top of the tunnel where they exited the shifter?

I can't view the video at work so I'll try take a look later but my miltek fits terrible, I've lowered my car, not stupidly and it just sits on the rear beam and is tight up to the bumper and even that's never hit the exhaust shield. Maybe make sure the exhaust shield is fitted tightly and none of those clips have rusted away. If its just over bumps you could try renewing the hanger rubbers?

Don't bother getting hoses from vw, just pop down to your local motor factors and buy late mk3 golf hoses, as long as they are banjo fitment. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I'm sure I'll get corrected but those panda cars probably won't have any recording equipment, so absolutely no proof. By the sounds of it he was bored/new to the force and just covering his backside. They usually slap you with a section 59 which is a blank "I'm a copper and I don't need a reason" on the spot ticket and a fine. If there is a complaint, he can say he's pulled you over for a chat and that's that, I wouldn't worry.

Do you test the plug? There's 3 wires, earth, lock and unlock. Just bridge them and that will pin point handle or something else Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
-
Have you tried bleeding the clutch? I've had 2 slave cylinders go on me, I haven't had a clutch go but when the slave goes you can sort of pump it to bring the pedal back a little to test Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
-
Easy way to test, unplug the handle and bridge the wires. Usually the wires go brittle and break, might just need soldering back together Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Yes, they are interchangeable. As you say, only difference is the raised lock. You can use Passat B4 but if I recall correctly you need to use the lock mechanism as well

Spal fan wiring and constant full speed dash switch
swiftkid replied to sexybourbon's topic in Engine Bay
ChrisL had the brackets made through his work although not sure he would be prepared to do it again, you'll have to ask. Other than that any machine shop with a laser should be able to do it. My fans are revotec from Burton power. Think they are all pretty much the same, just make sure you get correct push/pull direction. Not sure whether it matters as it's just a case of reversing polarity but just so you are aware. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
help! 1.8 16v oil alarm buzzer coming on as soon as revs hit 2.5k
swiftkid replied to g0ldf1ng3r's topic in Engine Bay
When I was doing an abf conversion on my mates mk1 golf I read somewhere that the buzzer won't go off at all until 2.5k, seems to ring true as I think there's a sensor on wrong so buzzer is always going off but fine until 2.5k Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Not sure if it's just me but I can't see the image, comes up as a broken link edit: it is just me, can't see it on tapatalk but works fine on laptop. Not seen that before, presumably an interior part? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Another part into the parts box, grabbed a German eBay bargain which turned into a bargain but slightly less after 20euro postage and a tenner for international payment fee. Just need to get a loom sorted somehow and sort wiring, can't live without cruise control these days. Also, mk3 golf's have a slightly different hazard light so that had to be swapped over. Can't wait to get cracking on this over winter, can't wait to drive it again! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Good luck with your search, never seen one for sale second hand before. I managed to cobble a manifold together using bottom half of vr6 and top half of r32 manifold. Hopefully next year I'll be getting a custom one made and tempted to have a couple made

I keep trying to find time to work on it but things just keep popping up, so for now the collection of parts just keeps growing as well as the dust on top. Managed to get another billy bargain the other day though, Passat B4 in my local-ish scrappy, someone had already pilferred all the door handles, not that I need them as I have A3 handles but it did have a full teves20 system. After 2-3 hours of blood, sweat, swearing & very nearly tears I got the lot out. £35 including the centre sun visor, yes thanks. Just need to get some lights up in my garage and some spare time and hopefully things will start moving.

Yes, do it, no hesitation, one of the best mods I've done. I went from standard to Daves short shift to mk4 and its night & day between all of them. Dave's short shifter is great and I'd advise that but the MK4 improves side to side as well plus makes everything nice and tight
