  1. Was a bit annoyed this year, been a loyal customer with flux for about 8 years, came to renewal time and they upped my policy by about £80 and wouldn't budge so now with Hastings direct. Thats on my unmodified daily so not sure what they are like with modified cars. Will be shopping around next year for the corrado though as I didn't like the amount of loopholes and smallprints they added to the policy, sound like the type of company you'd have to fight until your last breath to get a penny out of them
  2. There's a bit of a bodge over on edition 38 that works a treat. For people that use Chrome, I'm on my phone at moment so bit awkward to copy paste the link As some people have said, pretty much single handedly nail in coffin for forums. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  3. Can't remember which orientation it is but if you lower the car it puts more braking force on the rear, presume yours is not lowered as mine used to try swap ends under hard braking after I lowered it. It needs to be as free as possible, cover it in WD40 and that should free it up a bit.
  4. So its a 4mo engine? whats the base car? I'm presuming from your username its a VR6 so reuse subframe and gearbox, if its not a VR you'll need both from one. As for engine mount, bin the big heavy chunk of engine mount and fit the standard VR6 rear engine Have a look in the 24v conversion thread, everything you will ever need to know plus a full DIY guide. Its suited for an R32 but it's fairly similar
  5. Black sensor is 3rd fan speed and if you have A/C it should be a 4 pin with that aswell. Have you bridged the yellow temp sensor or the radiator temp sensor to test the fans? I can't remember which it is but you can get the black or blue temp sensor plug mixed up with something, think its cam position sensor maybe as they have similar length wires and same plugs.
  6. It's up against the bulkhead next to the fusebox (on the left) where the back of the fusebox cover clips in to. It should slide over a tab Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  7. I've been using a mk4 pump for years but it didn't have the extra lug, it looked identical to the corrado pump and works exactly the same, mine was from a 4motion though so might be different on a 4pot. I have heard people say its higher pressure but no actual concrete evidence to say so
  8. What oil are you using? It might be worth upping the grade and if you are not already, using fully synthetic. It does make a difference! As for engine rebuild, I did mine when I first got it and think I worked out at about 1k in parts. That was chains, guides, head rebuild etc Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Wiring problems

Check the wiring between the door and the main chassis, where is goes through the rubber boot. Known it before that wires break/rub in that area and even the rubber boot to break so wires rub on the metal edge. If you look for vag documents on Google drive there's all the documents you will ever need uploaded by rubjonny on clubgti Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  10. It wasn't the actual sandwich plate if I remember right, it was the threaded tube that caused the problem as apparently it can be fitted wrong way round. I've got a mocal sat in my garage but from what I've heard it does over cool the engine Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. On top of the battery the mk4's have a junction board where all positive connections join, it's nice and neat if you have amps/Headlight loom etc wired up Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  12. I rolled and pulled mine slightly so they fit fine, they did used to be on herisites car not sure of his were rolled Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  13. I've got a full set of 9x16 up for sale, buy 3 spares ;) Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  14. Just the pump, people have said the pressures are different but they look identical to me, I've been running one for a few years now, feels the same Also -handbrake with mech -if you are getting stalks you'll need column & wiring loom and you might as well get steering wheel, although as far as I'm aware you need some mods to the column for it to fit -if its got climate control you could take the heater box, controls, loom etc. -battery junction board is always a nice mod -pull out cup holder if you are feeling adventurous -arm rest maybe?
  15. I'm not sure how the alarm is wired up but usually if its the alarm all the dash lights will be out on second turn of the key, I may be wrong though thats just how mine works. Does the throttle body do its adaption party trick noise?
  16. Think they are foam, I've got one but the other fell off. If I remember I'll get a photo tomorrow Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  17. Just seen a 1.8t for sale on Facebook for 3250, up in Scotland. Looks quite tidy though Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  18. Tfsi has been done, just not off the shelf stuff. Sure if you looked you could find the info you need, biggest thing is wiring but people can do that for you. There are quite a few corrado's coming up for sale with conversions already, maybe worth looking out for one you can improve on as it will save you money in the long run. I was trying to save money doing an r32 conversion myself but that didn't happen lol Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  19. This is personal opinion, but I always advise sticking with the same amount of cylinders for the car, to convert to the likes of vr6, 4motion, r32 you need vr6 subframe so may as well get a vr6 to start with. I've heard 1.8t have problems with early bonnets but a 2.0 16v will have bulge so will be fine. Most engine swaps have off the shelf conversion kits these days but I really like the idea of tfsi engine conversions, they tune well and do sound good! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  20. Wouldn't fit anything other than a toad, had it on my last car for 8 years without a single issue and had it on my rado for 5 years. Fit and forget Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  21. Have a look at renewart if you are after them, they look really good quality stuff Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  22. So this is version 1, a whole lot of improvements and black filament needed but it's a start. It's a lot bigger than I expected (ooh matron) so back to the drawing board. I know there is a guy making these to a much higher quality than I will ever be able to make so I don't intend to offer these for sale and to be honest I'll probably end up buying one myself but I had this already designed a few years back so interested to see how this turns out. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  23. This any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162550662900 You could use any socket caphead though as they are minimum 10.9 tensile anyway Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  24. You'll be at it for ages with a stanley knife and probably end up removing chunks of skin. Dremel it, took me 5 minutes Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
