  1. Cheers perksy, that all looks right. I'll have to double check I'm routing the belt right, its not just a little bit long... its quite a bit longer. Not sure if the Audi engines have done something weird. But just to clarify I've got a 4motion power steering pump and pulley, 4motion belt tensioner & alternator mounting bracket and the rest is Audi 3.2 stuff. I've got a quick question to those doing wiring themselves, I had originally thought that T121/17 & T121/50 was the blue temp sensor (warm up map sensor) but found that its actually radiator outlet coolant temp sensor G83, what has everyone done with these wires?
  2. I swapped the whole vr power steering pump with the 4motion pump. I had it so. Thought I might as well swap it, the pulley was slightly smaller though, have I been sent the wrong one?
  3. Having a bit of a problem with the belt size, I ordered a 6pk1624 as specified in this thread which I believe it a 4motion non air con belt and it's quite a fair bit too long, I've swapped the power steering pump over to the 4motion one and seems like the original corrado belt size is the right length. Anyone experienced this?
  4. The sensor is oil level and oil temp. According to wiring diagrams you have pin 1 as ignition live, pin 2 as earth and pin 3 as your feed to the display unit (clocks). Seems a bit can-busy to me, I can understand wiring diagrams to a certain extent but I'm no auto-electrician so not sure if its possible to do anything with it?
  5. Has anyone used the R32 oil temp sensor in the bottom of the sump for the oil temp so I can then use the 2 holes in the oil filter housing for the oil pressure sensors instead of using a Tee piece?
  6. What's everyone done about the outlet in the block for the auxiliary water pump, I presume it has to be moved to where the old vr6 one sat but then there is an outlet in the block. New core plug?
  7. I'm midway through my R32 conversion and have noticed that my gearbox mount is past its best, probably about 5 years ago past its best... so looking to replace it. I had been meaning to swap it for ages, just started doing a search on here for the part no. for a mk2 golf diesel gearbox mount but I read somewhere that there is no longer a difference between mk2 engine mounts. Could anyone confirm this? Just wondering what to go for, vibratechnic, corrado or try get a mk2 diesel one?
  8. Thats exactly what I was looking for and yes I meant inlet, I had oil all over my hands at the time and was pretty cheesed off some my brain wasn't engaging properly, cheers Kev. Quick one for those doing the wiring, I have a wire from the ECU T121/28 (blue/white) I believe is for the alternator. Its not in my wiring diagram weirdly, what has everyone done with it?
  9. Hey all, just double checking everything on the engine at the moment and it seems like the exhaust camshaft vvt has plenty of movement but the exhaust has barely anything, as in it won't even move a tooth distance. Is this normal? Also has anyone got a proper timing guide? I'm using dribs and drabs from everywhere at the moment.

    Rear Beam

Might be worth doing a little googling but I think the rear beams are the same as 5 stud mk3 golfs. I know that Corrado's have an element of passive rear steer but as far as I'm aware its the bushes that do that.

    All red rears

Just wondering if anyones got a set of all red rears for sale? Can swap for some standard lights, 2 currently have lamin-x (with reverse cutouts on) and 2 bits of unused film but I just don't like the film. Cheers, Dave
  12. I have an eezibleed kit but I'm a little wary about it, me and a mate had a bit of an issue when we were bleeding his mk3 golf. Stuck the kit on flat tyre and it popped the filler tank, literally inflated the thing then popped it!
  13. If I'm perfectly honest I don't know Sam, I think the valver is a cable speedo? Or I might be thinking of another car I've owned. But yes, I only need the plugs but thought if someone has got an old rubbish loom kicking about it would be worth more to me than them! The VSS is vehicle speed sensor, its the plug at the back of the gearbox. It comes straight out of the 40 pin plug and downwards on the engine side of things. That would be great fla, I have a couple of spare looms from the fusebox, its just the other side I need. I did have my obd1 loom kicking about somewhere but it seems to have gone missing and I'd rather not cut up an obd2 loom for the sake of 2 plugs.
  14. Yea I'd seen that but I imagine it will probably go for a bit seeing as it sounds like a converted obd2 loom. stuck it on my watch list anyway!
  15. Hey all, I'm after a VR6 engine loom. Cheap as chips if possible as I only want it to cut up for the wires for R32 conversion, off the top of my head I only need the reverse plug, VSS plug and temp sensors so let me know what you have. Cheers, Dave
  16. I have the audi 3.2 floor mounted pedal, it just looks like a standard one anyway as its not an R32 engine. So I guess I'm stuck with floor mounted then :( I might take a trip down to the scrapyard for some pedals to try before I cut a hole in my floor!
  17. Just wondering if anyone has researched into the various DBW pedals? I have the floor mounted pedal that came with my engine but I'd prefer a hanging one, I understand you can't just mix and match them but are there any that are compatible? I'd really prefer to use the hanging one than the floor mounted one.
  18. I think we are looking at 2 different wiring diagrams, the BDE diagram I have is from May 2001 for a 2.8 engine (from Rubjonnys private collection of awesome here). It shows it going to T32/11 - J285 Control unit with display in dash panel insert with I presume is the MFA screen in the middle of the clocks. As for pin 81, I presume that because VW will try make the least amount of variations of looms that they can that on some engines, wires will be there but unused, hence why at the back of the corrado fusebox there are usually a few wires that are not connected.
  19. Not sure where you're looking (VW_OWNER_85 insert real name here) but I've just had a look at the BDE wiring diagram and it says it goes to T10/9 which goes to the "control unit with display in dash panel insert" T32/11. Says its a green/brown wire. It looks like T121/81 goes to T10/2 but seems to stop there, perhaps as a result of switching over to canbus and keeping non canbus wiring? Or making 1 loom for multiple uses?
  20. I doubt anyone that has done research is posting duff stuff mate, its a learning curve and a massive one at that! I look back at my notes when I first started looking at the diagrams and think "was I taking medication, that is soo simple to understand but I didn't get it". On my engine (2004 Audi A3 3.2 BDB engine) I don't have pin T121/37 or 54 but I was under the impression that I needed to add these. I do tend to overlook things when I get in a certain frame of mind and when I was looking at the Corrado diagram the other day I noticed the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) which I believe is the plug on top of the gearbox. It has a power feed taken from the fusebox, an earth and a feed to the clocks, I then thought, why do I need to add wire 54 in when I have a Corrado speed sensor that works perfectly fine on its own, which is what I plan to do. As for pin 81, I have no idea how MPG is worked out but could it be something to do with the tacho signal anyway, ie. the higher the reading the less MPG you are getting... in a simplistic form. Obviously I could be talking a big bag of crap but could it be that pin 81 and 37 are doing a similar job, hence why people use either?
  21. Well I don't have pin 81 at all and it seems that we can use pin 81 for mpg. As far as I'm aware, now please someone correct me if I'm wrong, for rev counter it is pin 37, for vehicle speed sensor we reuse corrado stuff?
  22. I believe the rev signal is pin 37? On my engine I don't have it as it's canbus but from what i hear the ecu still sends the signal if I put a pin in there and connect it up
  23. Are these still in production? I'm interested in one
