I've heard of people doing it, using the vr6 coil pack and something about a shifter light setup to control the vvt as it only needs to switch at a certain rpm, don't know if it's any more complicated than that

My 1.8T Rado......End of the adventure.......Gutted!
swiftkid replied to rado-steve's topic in Members Gallery
That's terrible news, absolutely gutted for you. You could see the blood, sweat and tears gone into the car as it was always so clean and tidy. Saw it on my first year of big fat tour, a timeless classic! -
Yea sure, need to head to my car to grab a plug for fla so I'll kill 2 birds with 1 stone. You still got my number?
-
I do indeed, car won't be seeing light of day until next year so radiator is out of car
-
Replied, sorry for delay I'll try sort it this week
-
Ugh, I hate seeing this for sale. Wanted this ever since the first time it was built, such an awesome car, I want the engine Fancy swapping the engine for an r32 setup... ;)
-
Awesome! Going to need them for mine, barely any clearance with r32
-
Is it a junior terminal? You can buy terminals from a guy on eBay, does all sorts. I bought a jago crimping kit as well for about 25quid from Amazon, was a right bargain!
-
Are they that rare?! I've got one sat on my shelf in my garage. I'll have to keep it safe from now on
-
Absolutely awesome corrado but pictures don't show engine bay, the 1 bit I'd be wanting to see!!

I noticed that postage is absolutely extortionate when I went to buy an oil t piece, think it was about £5! I understand that mail order businesses have to be careful about posting things because of people saying "it never arrived, can I have another one free of charge" whilst keeping the first one but surely it can't be that expensive!
-
I havn't even got the R32 running 100% yet but my future plan is to have a turbo, R32 turbo was a consideration but not something I've looked into, I've now got a VR6 sat in my garage needing a rebuild with ARP bottom end already, perfect for some VRT action. Mincy why is it so much fabrication on the 24v? I know people say its expensive but always wondered why in comparison to VRT. Surely its same amount of fabrication as a VR6? Thats if you run a short runner on both

I've had a few very awkward experiences of have to use a flathead screwdriver to spin them round to gain access with molegrips but never had a big problem removing them. I've come to 'that' age where tools that make life easier make working on cars much more fun.
-
If anyone is considering those remote ones, I bought one, first time using it out of the packet to remove the rad hose and it snapped. The remote has a tab that just snapped off so I'll be investing in one of those different type, spent years using molegrips though, unfortunately they do make the clips look a bit second hand!

I'm after some but I refuse to pay 70+ for mats, I've spent less on engines! I'm same as Sean, all I'm after is some good quality mats, no pictures, possibly corrado script dependant on price

Have you tried taking the fuel line off and cranking it to see if you are getting fuel? I'd be checking that first, also I wouldn't rule out having 2 knackered relays, I've had that problem before where a 'spare' part used to rule out something is also knackered. You could always take out the relay and jump the terminals to give it constant power though

Well I finally have a running 3.2! Now my attention has turned to the little bits... The tacho is not working, I've been told that apparently the ecu sends an analogue signal out but has no pin, so I've put the pin in, now kev tells me apparently it doesn't... Bugger! So I have a couple of options, either piggy back off the coil or get a canbus adapter. Now thinking about the canbus adapter I might be able to use the oil temp sensor from sump and get the tacho working. Anyone got any advise on what canbus adapter is suitable?
-
Just replied to your other thread, I should have that connector and if you still have no luck sorting one out by next week I'll snip it out of my spare loom and check my pin tool fits as well
-
Which side is it that you need mate? Is it the fuse box side? If so I've got one you can have, I'm in Devon for the week though so won't be back until next week
-
It runs!!!!!!!!!! Soo soo chuffed, will try get a video up but I had to start it up then head straight out. Few bits to sort, don't seem to have a tacho, not sure if I've put wire in wrong pin or the A3 ECU doesn't send an analogue signal but now begins the fun of rebuilding it and getting it on the road
-
Well it's in, long day at work meant I only had so much energy so didn't manage to get it running just in. Hopefully fingers crossed Sunday will be fire up day

2.5" Stainless Steel, mandrel bent, tig welded exhaust systems
swiftkid replied to Trackslag's topic in Suppliers Forum
I'm just installing an R32 into my Corrado and exhaust systems are massively limited for me. I've managed to get one made from the standard VR6 exhaust but will be wanting a proper manifold once its on the road. The dubpower ones I have heard are very nicely made but apparently designed for the mk2 golf and I have heard quite a few people say the fitment isn't quite right and at £370 I would want it perfect! As for united motorsport firstly they are designed for mk4 downpipes and secondly they are impossible to get hold of, not a company I would want to deal with. So if there is a chance of getting an R32 conversion manifold made I'd definitely be intersted -
Well big day tomorrow, work all day then straight to the car to try get engine out and new one back in. Taken a bet at work me and a mate can't have the engine out and back in within 3 hours... challenge accepted hehe
