  1. If you are talking about the NEW hyundai coupe then thats not too bad- It got rave reviews when it came out- people said it looked like a baby Ferrari (though I thought that might have been a bit far) If its comparing it to the older Hyundai then yes- we've got problems!
  2. They take the strips off the PVW Corrado in the A20 Lee issue. Typically enough I can't find it at this moment but they use a drill with some kind of buffer/soap wheel to get the adhesive off. I'll post more when it turns up (unless someone beats me to it!) Cheers
  3. Some of us lucky ones of course do have an oil pressure gauge in the centre console :D Oil pressure from cold is at least 4bar at idle (and thats in the summer- bet its fair whack more at below freezing), whereas at warm it looks more like 1.5bar. So yes- I guess if you ragged it from cold you could be looking at 8bar plus
  4. Like Corrado Wales says- Halfords do a specific trim tape- its about 2mm thick so it has a bit of give, and as long as you prep the surfaces welll (which I am sure you will) it never, ever comes off! Cheers
  5. Do you work there? or is that where the car was fixed? Its just I drive by that place every sat on way to Gym... Cheers
  6. Where you from RW1- Its just I live in Buxton and I can't think of any body shop here I would sent my car to? or was the car itself from Buxton? Cheers Mike
  7. Deffo 350z as well- when you get close it has the same muscular stance as the C, just wish the interior was, well, better :?
  8. Deffo 350z as well- when you get close it has the same muscular stance as the C, just wish the interior was, well, better :?
  9. I scanned in 3 full 6-8 pager VR6 articles from the mid 90's- some crackers in there as well- Just waitin on Andi who's gonna put them in the fast purple section (tactical nudge to Andi who I think may have forgot :) ) If anyone wants them emailing- just send us a PM as they are all zipped up & ready to send Cheers
  10. I have had a fuel pump go- AA fella bashed the top of the fuel pump cover and tried again and it fired for about 5 secs before dying again- didn't help me get home but at least it showed what it was(think the vibrations free it a bit for a few secs) The I had the FP relay come unseated- exact same symptoms as when the pump went- I am sure it wasn't 109 tho- maybe number 53? Cheers
  11. Nope- but the Audi A3 was if thats any consolation :? Like I say- the guys a turkey Cheers
  12. hi, Not sure whether you guys remember- but we managed to get the Corrado in the top 10 'useable classics' feature in the independent a few months ago- even though the nobber who writes it clearly had no idea what it was and only included it because of a 'small but devoted band of followers' ie us lot. This weeks was the top ten golf based cars- including such notables as the VW caddy & golf MK3- but no Corrado in sight  (despite it being in clarksons top 100 cars ever etc etc) Anyway next weeks 'top ten' is the V6's so if anyone fancies nominating the 'ol VR- email mailto:[email protected]. (I wouldn't worry too much about the technical distinction between a V and a VR- I would lay money on the fella not having the foggiest clue about the difference!) Cheers Mike
  13. Jeez thats awful! is it just me that thinks its a dead ringer for an MG Rover 75?
  14. Cheers for your advice mate- the speakers are the GB focals- and I might well take you up on that offer- prob at one of the shows next year
  15. Had a race with a A3 today- had the fella sitting right up my ass when pulling onto the M606 motorway & I did the usual VR trick of snicking into third and accelerating ever so slowly in the outside lane until the spoiler pops up before nailing pedal to metal and mmmmmwwwwhhhhaaaaaaa- all hell breaks loose and he's a hundred metres back- hehehehe  The only difference this time being the unplanned addition of one of the top radiator hoses literally blowing itself to pieces on the redline in third- cue one massive vortex of boiling coolant in the rear view mirror and one very embarrassed c-nut making a shameful dive for the hard shoulder :( Cheers for the other Corrado that stopped to investigate (another mystic blue Storm- what are the odds on that)- and the AA did a great cobblage job with some plastic tubing, jubilee clips and lots of tape to get me the 80 miles home without losing a drop of coolant. Another day in the life of Corrado ownership!!
  16. I am glad this caught your eye cos I know this is right up your alley! Its a 9835R same as yours (& incidentally how cool is the infinitely adjustable colouring on the buttons 8) I am just setting up on the fronts at the mo, so its HP at 50hz on the amp. On the parametric it says I have five bands so 20hz is -6db then (is that what you mean by completely defeated), 1khz is -3db, 20khz is +6db and the other two just left at 0db? Finally on the crossovers, the manual bangs on about slopes and levels. So for the fronts do I LPF at 40hz with a 6db slope and keep the level at 0? Cheers for your help/patience!
  17. Hello, Just finished installing all my Audioscape swag- sounds and looks awsome but needs mucho fine tuning. There is too much treble, but I think I can dull the tweets on the crossovers. I have a nice alpine head unit with all the crossovers and a big handbook to read through- but what about the basic settings on the amp? I haven't go a fahookin clue what all these buttons mean  . Any chance anyone who has set-up this install could tell me what each of these buttons/ dials means and does or at least what theirs are set too so I know its ballpark. Then I can worry about the rest on the Head unit. Cheers Mike
  18. Hi Got a shed load of ICE from Audioscape weeks ago now and still haven't got past fitting the tweeters and soundproofing the door cos each thing i do highlights another job thats needs sorting :? latest one is when I pulled the battery out to route the power cable I noticed the wax underneath was cracking and absolutely filthy as all the mud had slowly sank into it- plus there were a few rust patches as well. Anyway I have got all the wax out along the whole inner wing and repaired the rust - just need something to reseal/ rewax- any recommendations? Plus the battery jacket disintegrated- are these still available from stealers? Cheers Mike
  19. Actually I have just finished my doors today. have done the outer skin completely but a few parts of the inner skin- hopefully this will be enough deadening :?
  20. Karmen do more than just VW stuff- I think they made the Escort Cosworths and stuff and make the Chrysler Crossfire and some Audi convertibles now. I think their order book is pretty slim now though- the Mk5 Golf Cabrio is being made by another company that I believe is located in the same town!
  21. Pretty sure the Jag XJ220 had an active front spoiler too- that was a 90's european car- do I win :D
  22. Hi, I know this has been discussed a thousand times before- but can someone just answer this dead easy question- its giving me a headache looking through all the old posts :( My heater controls are still working (thank the lord) is there a bit I need to remove from the mechanism before it snaps off and jams everything up- or is it a bit more complicated than that? Its just they seem to be getting stickier and its that last thing I need right now for them to go too  Cheers
  23. No worries Neil- have added you on. I'm moving to sheff myself soon and spend a bit of time there- Should be able to answer ur probs
  24. Hi Guys, Am just planning the fitment of all the stuff I have ordered in the audioscape group buys recently- three questions- 1) Best place to mount the front cross-overs 2) Bearing in mind there is gonna be loads of cables running front-to-back- do I have to do two cable routings- I have some vague idea some cables interfere with each other- If so which ones run together (there will be amp power, head to amp phonos, amp to front speaker cables plus the autochanger lead) 3) do I need to put any deadening on the boot floor/ arch well sides around where the sub-box is fitted? Any other nuggets of wisdom appreciated- I have fitted loads before so understand the basics- this will be the first 'hi-fi' one though so I don't want to miss owt! Cheers
  25. Hi guys, Have a problem with a droning noise at speeds above 40mph- increase in pitch with the speed of the car- nothing to do noise wise with the engine or gearbox. Sounds just like a wheel bearing but is completely independent of corners (every wheel bearing problem previously gets far worse when you are cornering on the side of the knackered bearing) Could it still be a wheel bearing? or is there something else it could be? Cheers Mike
