Reprogramming a laserline alarm & vw flick key?? (pics)

Paddy- Not sure you can tell from the fob- you need to find the actual alarm control unit and it will have it written on the front Cheers -
Reprogramming a laserline alarm & vw flick key?? (pics)
Ice White Socks replied to sciroccotune's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
I have the instructions for adding a new remote fob onto laserline 996v2/996v3/919. Is it one of these? just saves me writing it out if yours is something different! Cheers Mike -
Superb looking car (thought it was mine at first   ) The colour has come out so well and the ride height looks spot on- The highlight is that pic of the front- can't see a single stonechip. Nice

Believe me trim tape is absolutely rock solid- All of the rubbing strips down one side of my car have been stuck on using the Halfrauds trim tape and I very much doubt they would come off without pulling all the paint off- its very, very strong on a plastic to paint bond

Just bought these- £33 per side plus Vat and postage if anyone needs to know for definite! Still fahookin expensive though.. Cheers
-
Been there myself mate- prob the pump thats gone- you can sometimes get the fuel pump running again by clouting the top of the tank- prob won't get it running for more than a few mins but at least you'll identify the problem. Cheers

Yeah good to have you back Kev (thought you might have lasted longer than three poxy days- Pah- what kind of a tantrum is that  )
-
Think it might be too late mr Wales- Kev has closed all his group buys- one with the comment 'i'm outa here'- I truly hope that isn't gonna be the case :(

Sunroof Question.. (not snapped cables)- Now Sorted :-)
Ice White Socks replied to Ice White Socks's topic in Exterior
I now have a fully working sunroof :D , fitted by Paul Harrington (H8RRA) who must qualify as being the daddy of sunroof fitters- superb, quick and careful job so cheers for that mate- I am so glad I didn't have to attempt it myself or it definitely would have ended in tears (mine) Hehe well chuffed :D Mike -
£275! Surely no body shop could fit a rear quarter panel for £275 let alone paint it?? I got rear quarter done on the insurance and it cost about a trillion quid..
-
Are you sure you need a new arch? How much have the bodyshop quoted because its very expensive to fit in a new rear quarter and then spray to match- Its strange a body shop would ask a customer to source a whole rear quarter :? Any Pics Cheers

I went down just the same path a few months ago- The trouble is everybody is looking for these things so 90% of the ones advertised are sheds bought by dealers at auctions for £500 then put out at £1500- its very hard to find a good example. I ended up with a Corsa 1.7d- got a minter with one lady owner and 83K on the clock- but even that was an overpriced £1100. Very pleasant drive - the joy of pogoing over speedbumps in a car with a foot of suspension travel- heaven I tell thee :)

Go to that internet shop (http://www.vagparts.com i think). Go to the 'aladins cave' and they sell good thick self ahesive felt which is perfect for the job. I recently pulled out the centre tunnel trim and relined with this stuff- makes a big difference!!

My sunroof has done just the same thing (currently in the process of trying to bribe a forum sunroof expert into fixing it  ) Interesting point on the lubrication- Bently manual says you must use lubricant.... ( cue some big part number)- then says in bold- never use general purpose lubricant... My sunroof worked fine- then six months after I lather it in grease the cables snap... mmmmm

Mine is under construction at Audioscape as we speak :D - Pics to follow in the next few weeks 8) They are keeping the templates- so if you like mine then you will be able to order one similar yourself.

Sunroof Question.. (not snapped cables)- Now Sorted :-)
Ice White Socks replied to Ice White Socks's topic in Exterior
OK great- thanks for your help on this mate 8) -
Generally just a sensor which is on its way out and moving in and out of what is an acceptable resistance. It dead easy to test the front ones because there are connectors in the engine bay next to the front struts- just unplug and test resistance across the sensor side of the contacts- Not sure what the correct resistance is but it should come up on a search. Saying that- I always thought the ABS was disabled if the light was on? Strange yours still works. Cheers

Sunroof Question.. (not snapped cables)- Now Sorted :-)
Ice White Socks replied to Ice White Socks's topic in Exterior
OK so the cables actually come with quite a chunky piece of mechanism then? If I try to tilt the sunroof back into position I can actually see the broken part of the mechanism move backwards (and I thought pulled by an intact cable?). I am sure the rocker has jammed like you say- it just appears to me that the bit the cables attached to has fractured rather then the cable itself- is that possible? You right about the crack from the sunroof- its been doing that for a while now- bugger Cheers for your help so far though 8) -
Hi, Sunroof has gone today :( , Won't slide but can tilt up- then twists on the way down. Thing is the cables seem fine, but a metal slider the cables attach to has snapped on the passenger side. Is this part included in the sunroof repair kit? (my search through 12 pages of posts make me think it may not be)- other than that what are my options to get it fixed, Reisdent experts appear to be Henny, Kev and Mike Edwards- so all help appreciated 8) Cheers Mike

Cheers Bud :D - I'll just get one from there

The 350z actually sounds pretty special as well. has the same note as the VR but actually it comes more from the exhaust. I like them a lot
-
lovely- I actually really like the front bumber- it really muscles out the front (kind of reminds me of a skyline front). Nice
-
Its about the most embarrasing thing I have ever seen on TV- a joke
-
Keep in mind that its not exactly an easy fit- a 'reasonable' mechanic can do it no problem- but I remember my very competent VW specialist had to do some thinking before he could replace it without having to take off some of the front of the car. I read about a VW specialist in sheff no too long back on this forum But can't remember the name  - There is also JBS autodesigns in chesterfield if you live on that side! Cheers

OK cheers- Its the texture of the black ones I was worried about because they look slightly grainy. I'll get the one on ebay and sand down myself- last question- how much from GPC? Oh and- nice car by the way  Cheers
