    100w Xenons

Yes I did didn't I   Things always seem better if you get them 'by mistake'. Now I know they were supposed to be in the parcel they don't seem quite as good anymore. In fact now I know the bulbs won't even fit the feckin car they don't seem good at all  :)

Hee hee I hope so :) - cos thats just what I'll be fitting tomorrow, along with some Ultra Blue 3400 kelvin side light bulbs :| , they'll make bugger all difference but they came with the Silverstars from Powerbulbs (a mistake I think) so I'll put them in. Nice looking loom Gavin- Cheers 8)

  5. I don't think there is any better visual deterrent than the disclock steering wheel locks. My car is Cat 1 alarmed and immobilised plus a factory cat 2 immobiliser so it aint going anywhere, but I would be almost as gutted if someone tried to break into it and battered the doors/ steering column etc. I think the disclock just gives that added extra protection and deterrent. My mate said a few weeks ago he heard a van pull outside his house at 2am in the morning for a pop at his next door neighbours golf. He heard them say 'shits got a disclock on', they all got back in the van and drove off- they just didn't even bother trying :)
  6. If anyones interested. They are the 'super brilliance' plus 50% Xenon range (the best ones!) Mike
  7. If you say so :? I have used my foglights for a little longer than a 'few minutes' on a number of occasions and I haven't had to shell out £100 each time. In fact they haven't cracked yet
  8. Yeah I feel for you too mate- every day I am just glad when I get to my Corrado and everything present and correct Like you say- your pride and joy ruined by some dozy biatch- the only 'good' news is you caught her in the act. I bet if you weren't around she would have just scarpered :?
  9. I think a few people have managed to bring these back from the dead- Unfortunately I wasn't one of them :( I would have a bash at it TBH- the worst that can happen like you say is to run on the fogs for a day or so :) I haven't heard any cheaper price than £50 odd quid :?
  10. I got an Aux water pump from my local VW specialist who are a Bosch dealer. It was about £70 odd quid- and he said they have actually gone up £10 in the last three months or so :( When I got the new pump fitted I wanted to be sure it was working- if you turn the ignition on but don't fire it up then its very easy to hear whether the pump is actually working or not. I don't think they run very fast though so you have to get close to it.
  11. I'll have to dig the receipt out for it. Its a busy place though so I am suprised no one round your way knew :? Drive into Sunderland down the A1231 (from the A19). Turn left on prob the third roundabout along (the one with the Fergusons transport depot on). Go to the end of the road. Turn right on to North Hylton Road- about fifty metres on there is an industrial estate on the right (you can't actually see the buildings though just the road). Go into the estate- the units are on the far left end of the estate (east side). something like S&R or J&M wheels. Can't remember how much- definitely a reasonable price and its was a top job :)
  12. C Chris- There is a great place in Sunderland which do alloy refurbs. Not sure I can remember the name but I can tell you exactly where to find it if you want to know. They are good lads- did a great job on my solitudes and rather bizarrely fitted me some tyres (supplied by me obviously) and balanced them for free.
  13. Whats happened to it mate- Too much play in the rack or leaking fluid or something :? Funny cos you don't hear much about those going wrong. That will be another thing I can worry about going wrong now :x
  14. I finally remembered the name when I woke up this morning (bizzare I know  ), despite posting this a million months ago. Its called 'crabbing'. Well chuffed
  15. The reason I ask is cos I had a dent removed on the arch flare a few months ago- and the guy drilled a 4mm hole in the inner arch to get to the back of it- came out perfect :) I need to get it covered before winter. Was thinking about just cutting back the underseal- aralditing a penny over the hole and then sealing over the top (unless anyones got any better thoughts...) Whilst I honestly don't think any waters got in cos the underseal feels like its closed over the hole- I aint taking the chance of sealing a bit of water into the rear quarter only for it to fall to bits on me in a couple of years. Is there a drain hole in those rear quarters or do I need to think of another way to make sure its dry inside :(
  16. I think the Fiats are gorgeous. I think the later ones came with a bit more bodykit on it- I had one behind me the other day in a colour that was the purple side of Ice Gray Violet- looked sensational. There is no other car that more fits the description of poor mans Ferrari- thats what all the mags said when it came out (something like 80% of the performance of a Ferrari for 30% of the cost :) ) I had a play with one once, straight drag from 10mph to 90mph- he was four up and I was on my own- didn't take a yard out of him :( Soon as we got to the twistys he just vanished- Doubt he was pushing it though
  17. Green Storm in Durham today (Tuesday). Didn't spot it myself but ma girlfriend texted me to say she had seen it 8) followed by the comment that 'they mustn't be as rare as you think', needless to say I soon put a stop to that kind of talk :) Haven't seen it in Durham before. Any takers?
  18. I don't think you *have* to do the bearings. Its just I think you have to bang/drift the bearing housings out of the old discs- potentially damaging then, and to be honest you may as well replace them for the peace of mind- they really are not expensive. I'm no expert but I think you might have to bear in mind the possibility that you may knacker the ABS rings when changing the discs. Again not expensive :D
  19. Aye your right. Tried it with the ignition on but engine off and I can now hear it buzzing. You know I almost feel unhappy if there isn't at least one thing wrong with my Corrado :) mad eh!
  20. Isn't there some kind of voltage regulator that prevents overcharging. Like you say if that failed then it would overcharge the battery- can't think of anything else that would boil the acid :?
  21. Does it run quite slowly then. I can't feel it buzzing when the ignition comes on? I thought it actually came on after you had switched off a hot engine- and it just switched on thermostatically to counter heat soak :?
  22. Hello, Had a new aux water pump and header tank fitted today, tried my best to get it as hot as possible to check for leaks and nothing- Great :D Thing is i always feel a bit uneasy when things are 'easy' with the corrado- got me thinking- how do I know the aux water pump is working? I remember it gurgling the coolant throught the pipes every now and then but it certainly wasn't every day or even every week. My Corrado runs a little cold but how can I check it is working :?:, how often does it come on with other peoples corrados. I have already tried geting the water as hot as possible- but it just won't go over 100- the fans just kick in and bring it straight back down  Cheers Mike
  23. You mean that place in macclesfield don't you Henny  , Tis a good place mind
  24. I thought that you had to take the headlights out when changing the bulbs :? and that they would need to be realigned after. Don't know why I think this though. Am I talking Pap
