hehe german dipstick! hes going much faster than the golf in the first place and i think just totally misjudges the corner and tries to brake mid way through, his wheels lock up and he heads for the trees.

i dont think 3rds crap if you get it in the right rev range, low down its not so hot but above 4500rpm in 3rd its pretty damn rapid! or at least mine is...

think this one might be hard...

theres a guy at work with a mr2 turbo, I keep trying to leave at the same time as him and try to have a bit of a play, but i've never managed it yet :( I dont think its modded, and its an early turbo so i think would fall into the 'around' 200bhp category, not sure how heavy they are but i reckon it'd be a fairly close race.

I'd always been 'aware' of the corrado, but never seriously looked at them until i had an accident in the astra i used to own and wrote it off. I was originally on the lookout for a nice mk3 golf, and while trawling the dull plain examples on autotrader i slipped into fantasy mode and did a search on corrados. I realised I could probably afford a fairly cheap 16v, insurance wasnt much different from the golfs i'd looked at and the corrado looked a hell of alot more fun! I thought, like alot of other people, that VW's didnt go wrong, so it'd be a safe investment! ah well, by the time the first bits went wrong I'd got the bug, found the forum, and was all set to start accepting my car not running quite right was just a fact of life! I was quite happy with the 16v for a while, spending more than i paid for it on modding it  but then I get the opportunity to buy a VR and i HAD to have it. I see the 16v as my introduction to the VW world and the VR as an opportunity to use what i've learned to make the car how i want it.

I've got the forum RSS feed to one side of my browser window so i can keep refreshing it and never miss a post... sad but true!

would it not be easier just to put VR hubs on rather than use adaptors?

I think Paul AKA H8RRA has a stock of the tools, try dropping him a PM

what size are corrado vr6 speedline standard wheels?

15x6.5 i think, width might be wrong... -
i thought it was legal so long as you display a sticker indicating you're carrying a presurised gas?
-
thats downright vile! even though its been done well and looks nice and shiny the 80's paint job does little to hide the fact hes superglued hunks of heavy plastic sh*t all over his car. why on earth would you spend ££££ on an engine like that, then make your car look SO awful? it even says in the article he wants to find more ways to lighten it... rip the tat off you muppet! that said the engine sounds more than a little impressive.

so 021 906 461 is the one i need for an early vr6?
-
nope, nothing at all other than the vw/audi logo, the 'bosch' logo, a directional arrow, 'made in germany' and 'durchflub' whatever that may be!
-
right vag number is: 071 906 461 bosch number: 0 280 217 523 it doesnt actually look anything like my MAF, its open at one end and has a thick plastic mesh before a thinner wire mesh at the other end, 5 pin connector and looks as near as damnit brand spanky new. if you can find out if its for a late vr paul its yours, but i'll PM jay and see if its the one he needs...

makes sense to me mate, although you really should try and adjust to our weird customs ;)

mines down 60mm and catches fairly regularly! i suppose it depends what the roads are like round your way, mine clips most speed humps (the narrow pointless ones where theres normally 2 side by side rather than the full road width types) and scrapes on a couple of petrol station forecourts. I've got the 90mm splitter which might make a difference... yours looks like the later 50mm one.

chrishill replied to CorradoVR6-Turbo's topic in Members Gallery
could you not just twiddle the vent dial and shut them off? i cant imagine you'll often run the heater blowing into the cabin at full chat anyway, and you can just close the screen down when you do! -
why LHD? or does 'dutch' imply what i think it does...?
-
try giving style dynamix a ring, just be cheeky and see if they know since they stock RH rims and were super helpful when i bough my AG's

sweet, total bargain! -
Storms were the last off the line (or there abouts) special editions, 500 made 250 green 250 blue (cant remember the proper names for the colours) and i think 10 of each were autos. They got a higher spec trim, different wheels and a badge, all of which could be bought as options on non storm VR's. Theres been alot of debate about the extra money they command, its up to you to decide if you think the extra is worth it. there were various 'limited edition' corrados in other countrys but i dont know too much info about those, just dont be fooled by 'karmann' limited edition interiours, all corrados got them! -edit- yup no mechanical differences, i think the only major change that happened in the life of the vr6 was the swap from the early distributor based engine to the later coilpack.

StuartFZR400, take a look at this http://www.performancevwmag.com/classifieds/ad_photo.asp?id=37462&c=United+Kingdom thats what i've got, paid £200 for it 2nd hand about a year and a half ago and its cracking, for £120 you could do ALOT worse.

nice pipe! looks almost stock... just my taste :thumbleft:

which is basically what i was saying, even the standard headunit (which I doubt any corrado still has!) would sound miles better with different speakers, technology's moved on a hell of alot since VW slapped in that paper nokia crap. cheap doesnt have to be naff, its just not up to the job of satisfying an hardcore audiophile. I've spent about £150 on door speakers, dash speakers, 12" sub and a 4 channel amp, some of which was second hand admittedly, but still thats cheap as feck and it sounds bloody good to me, and i'm fairly picky.
