  1. I think its the second one down on the list on the website, DIN 81060 Cost me £90 which i didnt think was bad
  2. you not try http://www.monbat.com ??? the megalight is listed as a stationary battery but also says can be used for starting.
  3. I had to get a new battery for mine a bit ago, after a quite lengthy discussion with the guy in the battery shop he sold me a battery which he said was superior to lead acid batteries. Its a MONBAT Megalight, he told me it is more used for traction and long current drains, but also has the ability to provide great starting power too. Its what he uses to start his 4 litre diesel. It uses AGM (absorbent glass mat) technology, instead of lead acid. I really rate it, before with my other battery if i left the car for a week and half it would not start. I left this for nearly 4 weeks and it started first time.
  4. If i remember correctly, i turned the block upside down, then just poked them out. Obviously the bearing shells need to be removed before hand. I Think i used a 4mm drill bit and just gave them a slight tap with the hammer shaft, they arent in tight, in fact i think one just dropped out when i tipped up the block. Then to put them back in i used a 6mm punch, just tap them in until they are home.
  5. How do, Yeah i would of liked to of seen a VRT in action, but never mind. Maybe next time.
  6. Visited stealth on sunday for the rollling road day and got a late spot on the roller due to chazrad dropping. Glad i did as it has confirmed my work on the rebuild was all worth while and im very pleased with my efforts! satisfying feeling knowing the motor i built is healthy! My results from my best run on the rolling road were: 193.4 Bhp @ 5649RPM AND 194.7 lbft @ 4195 Well pleased with that!     Philmo and VAG-hag sorry i never replied to your questions i had not looked at this thread for a while. The bbs centres are some kind of bronzey colour, KADVR6 did them im sure he will know the exact colour, and the rims are just polished and im not sure if they are laquered, dont think so, i polish them with peek. well only done it once. Philmo, The stealth RR day was the first meet ive been to in the corrado. Will be at more in the future though! Regarding the oil spray jets, i changed these purely because it said in the bently manual that you should always replace. I was sceptical at the time as there isnt much that could go wrong with them is there? apart from getting clogged?
  7. Fitted my cat back, Dubpower system this afternoon!  Really pleaseresd with the fit and sound. Sounds stock when normal driving and idle. Then a slight sporty note when putting your foot down. Just what i was after! Any way heres a few pics:
  8. They are tight, cant quite remember what i did, think i used a screwdriver with a blunt blade to help prise them out too. Or did i nip it in the vice and pull?? Think i did both.
  9. The rubber bits do just pull out, but can be tricky. I found that a dip in hot water softened them up and made things easier. The piston just pulls out, i have an air compressor and easiest way to get them out was just blow a bit of air behind the piston. Just pops out then!
  10. Just received a cat back system from dubpower for my vr6. Impressed with the quality. Boxes are weleded at the ends so you dont get the seams down middle, all nice and shiny! :D :D Will report back when its fitted with feedback on sound and how it looks. How much do you thinkit would cost to get it fitted?? was going to do it myself but i hate messin about with exhausts!!
  11. I had a similar problem, mainly clunking when setting off quickly. It was the gearbox mount that was totally knackere3d. Worth a look.
  12. Sorted it!! yes it was behind the glove box, which was a struggle but it prised out ok! i just pulled the fuse for the flashing, it locks the car and opens it like normal but without the flashing. It will be fine for now until i decide to get a new alarm fitted! Thanks for the info
  13. I made some of these out of a bean tin lid and some tin snips. Does the job but not the prettiest pieces. cheap though! :D :D
  14. Could anyone tell me where the alarm module is likely to be located?? The indicators on the drivers side are staying on solid all the time, i read somewhere on here that it is most likely to be a stuck relay in the alarm module. Im unsure where the module is, so if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Cheers, sam
  15. Hit it with a big hammer and then try mole grips, Shock treatment normally works!
  16. My car has started doing this, i have an original scorpion alarm. Whereabouts is the alram located so i can pull the fuses or ahve a look at the relays?? I have changed the flasher relay on the main board and that has made no difference. Cheers
  17. I want to get mine dyno'd now all this talking of bhp figures. How much does it cost for just a simple power run on a rolling road??? Would be interesting to see as mine has the standard exhaust on still with a 6 branch, but thats it no other mods bar the chip.
  18. i know, for £20 i didnt expect much but it really has gave it a bit more kick, just doesnt seem as lazy anymore, less flatspots and better revving
  19. Ressurecting this thread. I bought one of these chips of glen, arrived today, so thought id whip out the ecu and see what needs soldering. Pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't the soldered in type! :D :D Swapped over the chip, took it for a spin, massive improvement i reckon. Feels a lot more responsive than it used to, and when you drop it down a gear to overtake it goes like stink! Seems to rev more freely too. Well impressed, got to be the best £20 ive spent on the corrado! and i know you dont get much corrado for £20!! Cant wait to get my SP263 cams in now that i also got for a steal off ADZ_VR6 :salute:
  20. As title states, what are they worth? thinking of selling my spare gearbox. was told its low mileage when i bought it but no evidence to back that up. But it does look in good condition.
  21. Dont think ill be de locking it, cant trust the central locking! Anyhow ive done abouty 500 miles or so now on the new engine, starting to open it up a bit more, feels very very smooth. Still not given it the full beans yet but that will come! Very pleased with the car now   Just dont get to drive it that much with having a company van with a fuel card!!!
  22. Thanks, i have not really set the height properly yet, just guessed it when i was putting it on, but it seems ok, just need some fine tuning to get it bang on. Im very happy with the ride on the ap's, not what i was expecting at all going from 15"!
  23. Thanks, yeah i like the colour. I f you get stuck with parts or anything when you do your re-build give me a shout i got best part of 2 engines in my garage, and i see your not that far away.
  24. Borrowed my mothers camera, (rubbish one) so not the best pictures, anyhow heres how it is sitting at the moment on the new wheels. :D
