Check new MOT legislation before you proceed. What you wish to do is all possible, but if you don't carry out the install including projector headlamps, self levelling system and headlamp washers it will fail the MOT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hopefully you might be able to exchange it. Albeit inconvenient, far better this than a real oil pressure issue. Glad your sorted now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank, I am familiar with this service I too have used it before. The fact still remains however that this parcel will cost at least £10.00 to send. But thanks for your thoughts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Jamie, if these were not heavy items I would accept your offer. Whilst I think £50 is a fair price, I will accept £45 plus carriage as a goodwill gesture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If they were lighter items Jamie I'd go with your offer, but postage is more of an issue here. In the interest of goodwill how about £45 plus carriage costs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I guess it was too later for me too :-) what a blunder print! Hey as long as we all have a laugh at our human breakdown after a long day!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think you know what the answer is, don't you 12 valves ABV, 32 valves R32. ;-). It's late, we'll let you off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi, I'm one of em. Just thought you might like a little recognition :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Sounds to me like your low oil pressure warning setting, which is part of the dual Pole sender unit, has a low pressure setting which is too high for your engine. Ideally you need 2bar at 2000rpm when the oil is at 80 degrees C. If the low pressure warning is set too high, but your actual Pressure is ok, this would explain why when you increase the idle the warning ceases. The low pressure setting of your sender is stamped into the hex nut at its base. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Get the engine to 80 degrees oil temp. Unplug the blue ECU temp sensor plug. Remove the cam cover breather hose from the boost return pipe, and angle it away from boost return connection. Rev the engine three times, each time in excess of 3000 rpm. Connect analyser. Adjust CO% and idle to allow correct settings. When done rev engine once above 3000 rpm and re-connect plugs and hoses. For sale a pair of Mk4 Golf style alloy rear brake callipers, in very good working order, having only just been removed from my A4. These are ideal for fitment to any Corrado, and are a direct swap for cast iron units. You will need to fit banjo type rear brake hoses to connect these to your Corrado hydraulic system. I am happy to offer full tech advice on this simple conversion. £50.00 plus carriage, or buyer can collect from West Sussex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pair of 288mm front brake callipers including carriers. These are In very good working order, having just been removed from my A4. They have been painted silver, so are not the typical rusty donor parts. £150.00 plus carriage, or can be collected from my location in West Sussex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Check the air gap clearance between the wheel speed sensors and the ABS wheel rings / cages, fitted to the back of the rear brake discs. These symptoms could also be caused if these cages are insecure, damaged or damaged in some way. Another cause could be if the rear wheel bearings are incorrectly adjusted, or worn then this wlll have the effect of making the air gap continually variable. This should give a start, with some the causes I have seen for this problem over the years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Check your vac hose to the ECU is securely connected to the correct pipe on the throttle valve, and that it is not split etc. Before you can adjust the CO% level at the potentiometer you will need to follow the correct procedure to then in turn allow adjustment. Furthermore you will require an exhaust has analyser. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The A3 callipers will Work from the car you have in mind. The A3 1.8T is quite simply much the same animal as the 4 Motion in this respect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rear Brakes Locking After Fitting 288mm to front. HELP!
16VG60 replied to Philuk's topic in Drivetrain
ABS fault needs to rectified, as this is an integral part of your cars braking system, and to mention the legality / insurance issues. Secondly are you sure your compensator valve is working. These valves regularly are found to have seized, as they rarely become get moved (Corrado being predominantly not loaded sufficiently to bring it into play) you may well have backed off the compensator arm, but is this influencing the internal valve? Your problem very much sounds like brake pressure proportioning fault. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The brush pack or voltage regulator as it is known is available from dealer, or you could approach any specialist auto electrical centre or reconditioners. The only other replaceable component is the rectifier or diode pack, but this is less likely to be at fault, and alot more involved to replace. Start with the reg and progress from there if required. Well done you, 16VG60 is the way to go. Totally agree the sound of these engines is awesome. I built my first generation engine back in the early 90's, am now on the third generation of my original build. Mine is fully run in now and it gets wound up fully to 7500rpm crack of dawn on all the twisty roads of my county. Enjoy your efforts to the full, you will have worked hard for this result. Rest easy fella there is nothing missing. The component in your pic is the auxiliary belt tensioner, and the thread will accept a bolt as and when you require to de-tension the system for belt removal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As an alternative thought for your situation. The majority of alternator failures are due to worn brushes on the regulator. So indeed if your unit is ok bearings wise and the rectifier is also fine the you could effect a repair by the inexpensive replacement of the reg. just a thought, if it helps, as the G60 alternator I believe is unique to that application. I am sure however that given the number of breaking Corrados, sadly, you will soon be offered a used replacement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If I were you I would firstly want to check more thoroughly the possibility of valve damage, and whilst I am sure your friend has made every effort to pin the crank correctly, are you sure the timing is now correct? You have pretty much answered your own question. The engine was running fine before the bolt broke, and now it is not. What has changed? Check the valve integrity, and cam / crank / dizzy timing alignment. A number of features of the engine now suggest disorder in these areas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Will an Early lower bumper grill fit a late bumper?
16VG60 replied to dragon green's topic in Exterior
The lower grille will fit from early to late, but be careful to use the correct lower grille for the specific model type. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
More importantly you will require to use the correct specific bolts in this application. The camber bolts have a reduced shank to allow sufficient camber adjustment range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most likely cause is water getting into the HT and ignition systems. Get yourself a good quality dewatering spray, WD40 is ok but Wurth 2040 is better, and spray the internal connections of every plug / joint in these systems. You will need to separate each plug to spray inside, as it is pointless just spraying randomly over everything as is. This will have the effect of giving your ignition system some degree of resistance to water ingress causing shorts to earth. There are other causes but this will be a good start point, and inexpensive to complete. Regards, John. JMR Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
