I am based in Rustington West Sussex which is at the southern most end of the A24. Give me a call or PM to discuss details. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am trying to contact this forum user, and owner of a Corrado 16V recently supplied with a Milltek system. Can you help? Nathan i hope this has gained your attention, would you please contact me asap.
-
If you fancy a trip to the seaside i'd be happy to check over your 16V. I see loads of guys from the London area so the journey can't be that far.

Have experienced a simillar problem to this and it transpired to be a deffective printed circuit, which once replaced cured the fault.

Have you replaced the exhaust rubber mounts or are you using the existing items? Some VR6's are fitted with particularly flexible rubbers and these are tendant to cause this type of problem. I would recommend you replace the mounting rubbers and re-align the system. It helps to have an assistant hold centrally in place the tailpipe while you tighten the system clamps from front to rear.

Changing the front and rear suspension bushes on Corrado and Golf has become the hot job of late for me. With the mileage and age of our cars now this job has become a must and revitalises this aspect of the cars handling remarkably. As with all wear and tear issues in this area, one does not notice the gradual decline of these components until a marked failure occurs or you drive another car that has been fitted with new components. I am a firm advocate of OE components and not at all impressed with silicone rubber copies. The only area where these are valid is for replacing the front lower arm rear bushes. The Powerefle rear torsion beam bushes i would not recommend or use as they adversely affect the Corrado's passive rear wheel steering response. At the end of the day the Corrado was received with great acclaim at the time of it's launch for in part it's handling characteristics, so the OE bushes can not be so bad. To make more efficient my works in this area i have invested in the VW tooling to replace the rear beam bushes and use my press to remove / install the others. For the information of those who are interested the cost of both front and rear bushes including anti roll bar is £175 and I charge £280 for fitting a total of 8 hours. Camber and alignment need to be adjusted after these works and a fee of £50 is made to set the car up on a lazer alignment rig. If any require further advice I'd be happy to discuss with you

Well recommended piece of kit, i have had a Road Angel for some time now and recently upgraded to the Road Angel 2. This is a genuine upgrade on the first offering and in my opinion has made it a must have for your car, irrespective of your driving style or mileage. If i did not allready have one i would be jumping at this very attractive deal.

I am not familliar with this FK setup so can not give specific info but i would imagine it is on a par with the Boge/ Sachs shock and spring kit which retails for around £195. I would recommend you spend a little more if poss, and go for an FK Konisport coilover kit. I can get you a better than normal retail price on this kit if you are in the bidding.

There are allot of simillarities between the systems fitted to the Corrado and Mk2 Golf. This is an inheritance from the Corrado being based upon the MK2 floorpan. Scorpion in the early 90's used to supply MK2 Golf systems to Corrado owners, prior to making a dedicated Corrado system! You can certainly try this crossover it may indeed "fit" but wether it will give a satisfactory install we will have to wait for your come back. Alternatively there's a guy on this forum offering blinding deals on Milltek systems try giving him a call

If you would like a standard G60 front pipe i have a few!! give me a call, i'm sure i can help you here

I have fitted the Konisport FK T/A coilovers to a number of Corrados now and have every confidence that you would be 100% pleased with the resultant ride quality if you followed suit. I am sure that one of my customers would be happy for you to have a test drive to sample the install. If you are interested in a kit and fitting please do drop me a line as i have an arrangement with Richard at Vennom Motorsport regarding a more competitive price.

Harry, it's common knowledge that Neil closed down his Volkspeed business, but i am unsure as to wether or not he is stil trading on casual basis from his home address in Surrey. You might be able to get more up to date assistance from Danny Allen on this forum. In either case one of my customers recently presented me with his charger for rebuilding taken from his ex Volkspeed 20V G60 Rallye. I am sure he would be happy to assist you if you are interested.

If you are not able to secure this 4 branch manifold. I could supply you with a JMR big bore S/S front pipe and a ported exchange exhaust manifold that would give you the improvement you seek.
-
Would be happy to assist, but the commuting time from West Sussex would be a little harsh  . If you require any assistance via PM or phone, would be happy to advise as required. Good luck.

Considering buying another corrado - or upgrading existing??
16VG60 replied to Skimask's topic in Engine Bay
Can not see the point in fitting an engine into a car to achieve an end product which allready exists in production, unless of course this is going to be part of a radical re-make. The cost would be greater than going out and buying a VR6. Remember it's not just an engine and box, you will require the whole ten tenths and barring the body shell and interior will be changing the rest!! I would recommend you go and test drive some Corrados, and then review your budget, and make a more informed decision. Sure you can make any conversion you wish for, given the money with which to achieve your desire, but if all you seek is a more powerful Corrado then first off at least find out what can be done with your 16V they are capable of producing substantially more BHP and comparable with a standard G60. -
Reading through this thread it would seem to me that alot of you guys are having troubles with your exhaust systems. Clearly i have a full knowledge of Milltek product but have had plenty of exposure to other systems. I have seen most of the problems of which you complain, and i have often taken on works to rectify these problems regardless of the system manufacturer. The individual scenarios are numerous but often they are attributable to incorrect fitting of the system, worn or deffective hangers, non-replaced components deffective, or surrounding bodywork / trims causing interference. In any case i am happy to help with any difficulties you may have, if only to assist in narrowing down the possibilities. A problem shared and all that.

A good 2.0L G60 8V conversion with the typical associated other mods that one does at this time would yield an output of about 220 BHP and a torque increase to around 195lbft. Well worthwhile conversion but choose your components carefully, as a poor choice can result in a hateful item unworthy of being planted in any Dub.

My Steam cleaner can be set up to produce a steam only function which i have used on occaisions. I do however preffer to use a it on a setting just below that at which it becomes purely steam. If steam cleaners are used appropriately there should not be any electrical complications following use. The complications, if any, are normally forth comming in association with poor condition electrical systems or DIY bodged wiring ie the use of scotchlok conectors etc. I have been steam cleaning my customers cars for many years now without problem and to good effect. After cleaning the engine i spray the entire unit with a protective coating that ensures corrosion can not take place. If this practice of mine was problematical i am sure that after having done so for the last ten years one of my customers would of had complained by now. As in so many cases it is not the tooling but how it is used.

Although i have not witnessed the case for early Milltek systems being a little below par on the fit, i have heard the stories. I can state however that the standard of fit, materials used, build quality, and customer service with Milltek systems that i supply are beyond question and easily able to compete with any other product available on any basis. All systems come complete with VW OE style clamps which have replaced the items used on the earlier systems. Milltek systems are radically lighter in weight than the OE system and therefore there is no need for uprated rubber hangers the OE items are more than adequate. The systems are warrantied for life to the original purchaser, and this is a clear statement of belief from any manufacturer in todays climate. I have built a sound trading relationship with Milltek over the past few years and as a result of this i am able to offer systems to the Forum at unbeatable prices. I have adopted the policy that if a product is found to be good enough to satisfy my standards, and is susequently fitted to my Corrado or tried and tested on a suitable other vehicle then i am happy to recommend it to my customers. Milltek meets this requirement and i have fitted Milltek systems to countless VW's since.

Ok, so is this a conspiracy of silence on the part of all those of you that i have supplied Milltek systems to. You remember, you are the guys who complained bitterly that the old systems you had previously had poor fit, sounded awfull, were banging on the rear beam etc etc, and since having had a Milltek system fitted have been delighted with the result ney even jumping through hoops! Well get your fingers on the keyboard and tell Robbo149 and his kind that Milltek are the market leader in high quality stainless steel systems and that you are whitness to this fact. Furthermore i can supply you a system for your Corrado for £249 inc Vat plus P&P. Magnex i am sure will please many of you and i know their product well, but Milltek is what i supply because having sampled every product and the customer service adopted by each company i found Milltek to be well ahead in their class.

None of that heavy duty scrubbing with de-greaser for me me, i use my trusty steam cleaner set up just right to remove the muck and nothing else. Dalek where are you based? I could steam out your engine bay in no time at all if you are in reasonable driving distance from my workshop.
-
Ok, so i dipped out on supplying your exhaust despite offering a blinding deal  , so come on let me have the commission to rebuild your cylinder head  I can rebuild and gasflow your head for £450 plus p&p. Interested?

If your your Corrado's electrics were working without fault before the recent works were done, and have since developed these problems, i suggest you return the car to those who did the works. This could of course be a coinsidence, but it would be wise to make this the first step. If you get another agent to get involved with this problem before, having given these guys a chance, then they would have every right to defer blame elsewhere.

Sounds very much like the operation of your PAS is impaired. Do you have any other Corrado owners with which you could compare PAS operation with? The system on the Corrado should not be whining in this way in general use, typically you will only become aware of undue noise when held on full lock. It would not be uncommon for the pump top fail given the age and mileage of many Corrados, even so it would be a good idea to get a comparison before investing in a replacement. Afterall it could just be down to air in the system causing cavitation of the pump. This is often down to a leak at some point.

Are you saying that your car will not lock on the alarm but will with the key? Furthermore are yoiu saying that even with the key it will not operate the central locking? I am trying to understand wether or not there is a common fault to both methods of securing the car or indeed it is isolated to the alarm interface with the CDL. If it is a common fault with both i would suggest you check out the central locking air pump located in the boot. You need to check the operation of this unit both as an isolated item and as part of the system it serves. If you find it to be ok as a unit but not as part of the system then you are looking for the fault in the wiring supply or in the vac pipe system from the pump to the locks.
