Good on you.

I don't think its cracked or modified in any way, I'm going back into the garage for an hour later, I'll look a bit more in depth at it
-
Pulled the engine and gearbox out of the storm yesterday, started stripping / separating ancillary bits and bobs earlier, the ring gear is loose on the flywheel? Has anyone seen this before?
-
I was quite entertained by the thread TBH R32 is multi baffled and shallow 4Mo is baffled to a lesser degree and standard height
-
Surely if they make two different types of screen they should be able to explain the difference between encapsulated and non encapsulated? edit

I think I just removed the old roller with pliers, rolled the new roller down the channel and used the pliers to pinch the new roller onto the ball joint? Do one at a time to stop the lot falling into the door (worst roller first). I donated the one good roller to another forum member, the rear most roller was destroyed falling out of the channel.
-
I bet they don't fit lol I thought you went 288mm?

Remove both wings from the storm today, inner wings look surprisingly good. Holes behind NSF wheel, sill seam is rusty, NSR wheel arch needs replacing. Door has lifting paint above the handle. OSF sill seam rusty, hole in the floor, rust on top of the sill, hole in front of the rear arch. There's going to be more under the black waxoyl for sure. Its a breaker

Standard storm beige leather. The grot fell of the drivers side, the bumper has some lacquer peel so I bought a spare when I bought replacement classic green wings,
-
Rusty grot fell off the rear bumper Rear axle is rough, as is compensator and all brake lines, flexi and solid I have a rear axle off Hennys old non abs g60 and bumper stored too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes I have a spare, also a set of 3L pistons
-
Bought some high lift stands yesterday and got the rear of the storm in the air Part of the right rear piston crown is missing and the cylinder is scored (I removed the rust with a Stanley blade) rotated the crank with a spanner back and forth until the crank rotates 360 degrees Obviously the piston is no longer any use, the block maybe salvageable? It looked to be perfect prior to the HGF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All this info you've collected and knowledge you have about parts and there sources need to go in some sort of Keyo wiki? Where you can update with the ever more new finds? Amazing the stuff you keep finding and sharing

Did you buy the car as a non runner? A faulty crank pos sensor will give no spark or fuel. Do you have fuel at the rail? Are the spark plugs wet with fuel after cranking and removing them quickly afterwards
-
I'll attempt to clean the bores with the block in situ next week, priorities are to assess the rest of the shell, remove the rotten wings etc
-
I paid the sellers price, no haggling, I also bought 2 wings for £40 each from Matt. I also bought a 2.9 engine from another forum member for £50. different times back then

Found the original sale thread, sounds like the tensioner failed on the motorway with kids in the car, so I don't blame him for limping on to the next services TBH
-
The tensioners plastic roller bearing seized and the belt melted the now stationary plastic roller, the alternator is seized too now - I've never seen that before either. I've PM'd Matt - the previous owner to make him aware I've finally got my finger out (the Mrs wants her patio back - I've got 2 other cars parked on it ATM), he bought the car from Port Talbot to replace his G60 that got written off, the Storm was a disappointment after the G60 as well as life, family and work taking over so he sold it to me. Next I want to remove the rotten front wings and check over the whole body to see if its worth repairing - my welding is horrible!

So I did another couple of hours this afternoon, the head bolts at the rear were all east to undo, the reason I bought it so cheaply was due to the car being a non runner after auxiliary belt tensioner failure on the motorway Oh dear Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bought it September 2013 with good intentions, it’s been garaged ever since, other cars have lived outside in that time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Under 100k as it sits, it’s a long time since it had a battery on it.

Burnley, about as far from the coast as you can get lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
