  1. Corrado rolling shell on a trailer on the M1 this afternoon. Being towed by a silver passat estate... Jay
  2. Are these genuine? If so I will have them. Cheers Jay
  3. Think I will be getting one of these once the MOT is done. Jay
  4. Nothing is ever simple eh! Glad you got it done in the end though. How do you find it? I think the lower poly piece in the rear mount needs to be 60 shore hardness (currently 70) having lived with it for a few weeks as a daily it transmits a touch too much vibration at idle. I had 60 shore originally and it was more factory feeling with no vibration. Jay
  5. Managed to find a brand new genuine one on EBay. Expensive at £30, but the last one has been good for 17 years so it's worth the money. Jay
  6. Yesterday i was reminded of the joys of running a corrado as a daily... But also the fact I love the cars because they always get me home somehow! Having just popped round to Andys to drop off his orbital polisher and admire his spotless car, I pulled onto the motorway and heard a pop and then had a nice steam spray up the bonnet. I knew what it was and the coolant level light confirmed it, so I pulled over straight away and popped the bonnet expecting to see a burst pipe and found the top radiator elbow plastic pipe had neatly split into two short lengths.. I managed to push it back on loosely and actually limped to the garage round the corner before it popped off again under the rising pressure, but the temp never went over 120. At the garage I managed to undo the jubilee clip with my house keys (no screwdriver in the boot or for sale in the garage!! Doh!!) and removed the piece of plastic from inside the hose. I then pushed the pipe onto the 10mm or so of remaining plastic pipe and tightened the jubilee clip with the key again. I then bought 4L of nice spring water from the shop and filled the car up and it managed the remaining 20 odd miles home no problem! So I need a new top elbow, which as I found out today is obsolete! Great! So the choice now is a pattern one or a billet one... Typically when I was sorting out the engine a few months back I couldn't get a new elbow in time for the rolling road day so kept the old one on... So I only have myself to blame :) Jay
  7. Awesome story, but did I miss somewhere why you are not running the 17" RS's? Jay
  8. Any progress on this? Looking forward to seeing it all start :) Jay
  9. Whats included in the rears exactly? Any pics of the condition? Jay
  10. I am happy to bring my VAG-COM with me if anyone wants a scan :) Will also hopefully be able to help out with Corrado related questions. Jay
  11. I have a vague recollection of someone saying PSI chop the mounts to get the engine sitting level, even though they are not supposed to sit level (side to side). So this would drop the whole engine down a bit. I used factory rear mounts and my own front mount at standard height. Without the engine cover on (later style cover) it would clear the bonnet. I removed one of the supports under the bonnet to allow fitment of the OEM larger later style cover. Jay
  12. Nope. Too high maintenance for a daily. Just nice fresh bright silver is what these are getting. :)
  13. Never had any issues at all with my 24v. Infant it was more likely to hit the subframe than the sump. Jay
  14. Tyres have arrived... Lucky I had the day off :) Jay
  15. Yeah I always preferred the painted versions anyway rather than the ball polished. Can't wait to get them on now, but it's miltek exhaust fitment tomorrow first... Jay
  16. I am doing exactly the same next week or two on my DBP, perhaps I should just use your pics in my build thread LOL :)
  17. Sunday sounds good to me. I am sure there a few others who can make it...
  18. The edges actually look a lot worse than they are it's mainly just the lacquer lifting and corroding. A quick rub back, full sand blast and powder coat and they will be as good as new :) Jay
  19. Finally sourced myself some BBS RCs which are going to have a full refurb as although solid and overall pretty straight they have seen better days. A full set of four brand new continental sports 205/40/17 I managed to win for £300 on eBay are in the post to me to go on them and I have a pile of bits to fit to the car post powder coating. MOT is due at the end of March so I have some work to do..... Jay
  20. That weekend works for me and it's the week of my MOT so hopefully the car will be up to scratch a bit by then :).
  21. Nice work. Can't beat refreshing all the bushes etc.. Jay
  22. I think I am going to have to pop and see Cav. Some top work on that interior. Jay
