  1. I had a similar thing on my mk3 - it was a CV joint. But I ain't no mechanic... :)
  2. Mate, I've heard so much about not buying GSF parts etc, but after this 1st hand experience of them not even lasting a year Im convinced that the 'rado is only getting VW bits from now on (and not so bad after finding a friend with TPS account :D ) The noise is horrific tho and as u say they won't explode or anything, but DAMNNN it's SO loud!! :( Thing is it's only a fiver from TPS and Im about to order some Brembo discs from there, so was thinking might be worth the fiver just to shut it the feck up! Ok thanks man - last time my mate pressed em in for me, I 'believe' he may of turned a tool up for it so i'll give him a bell. I just remember doing em on my mk3 and banging the sh1t out of the races to get em in
  3. Right, Im having a minor brake overhaul soon, with new discs and pads all round, 288's up front and gettin' some mk4 calipers for the back. Obv fitting new bearings to the rear discs - VW's. However, this isn't being done until next month, and the N/S/R bearing is absolutely HOWLING at me. So im thinking of replacing with a GSF special to tide me over (and keep my sanity  ) My question is: will it be ok to change just the bearings for now, and leave the old races in? (These bearings were replaced last May with GSF bearings so the races are less than a yr old - will NOT be buying GSF bearings again!) Only reason I ask is for a quick fix and not having to find some decent punches...? TIA :D
  4. Id be interested to see what a C would look like in an orange, a bit like this  dodge.jpg[/attachment:ch0lushg] But I do like that bronze! :luvlove:
  5. Good times :) Kempy, did u receive a letter regarding new training from Computeach yet?
  6. Looks awesome Kempz!! That last pic = :luvlove: Very nice wheels too man, think ur's is lookin' schweeet! 1st pic looks immense too. :notworthy: Edit: Just noticed, is that a little dent on the top of ur N/S wing in the 1st pic? :( If so...
  7. I couldn't find the front bush :camp:
  8. I got some front bushes for when I re-furbed a couple of wishbones - but from looking at the wishbones on ETKA there isn't an individual part number for the front bush, just the rear. I got my bushes from America tho http://www.fourseasontuning.com/?product=308#
  9. I think urs was the review I read
  10. Synta! U do need a trade account with TPS, or someone that has one, or u can try going in blagging it apparently... I bought 20litres from a guy on ebay for £55 delivered. Saves u a bit of dollar if ur gonna service the VR urself...unless of course u find someone friendly with a TPS account!
  11. Not neccessarily true, the 2 different companies I've been to (despite wanting to go to the dealer) had an excellent company profile, and the work they had done was superb! They won't choose 'any old company that's cheap' for the hell of it, their insurance company should have a list of 'reputable bodyshops' that they will allow ur car to be taken to. I know u'd rather VW do it, as I would have. But for instance, with my mk3, I had actually taken the car to a bodyshop beforehand for a rough estimate, and for the front bumper to be sprayed and a couple of touches here and there was around £400!!! So I was like "Im not paying for it to go there", and then it ended up going there through insurance!
  12. Lol! All I know is, whenever I've had my car repaired, I've had to take it to one of the insurance companies 'approved' centres...
  13. From what I've read Synta (10w40 semi-synth) is what used to be used, and many people still do! My local stealer still sells Synta. Someone's review on here (from what I read) didn't really get on with the platinum.
  14. Because even with protected no claims, your premium the next year would still go up, because you've made a claim. No claims bonus just knocks a percentage off the price. Oh right! But it wouldn't go up by half a grand, surely?
  15. Sounds good - the fact you know they'll be honest and genuine :) Agree with having it done at the best place tho - it wasn't your fault so u shouldn't have to 'make do'... If they have protected no claims...why don't they just claim?? :confused4:
  16. Im from Westbury and Chepstow mate - go through Bath all the time
  17. Thought u were being a bit optimistic
  18. Agreed. I have a very good amp in excellent condition if u want it mate... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=89857
  19. Nasty man, truly gutted for u :( I know it sounds harsh moving on, but have u had any word from insurance yet? Any silver linings? :(
  20. Could've done worse! I was told the same when my car had a bump, ended up with a diesel Alfa 159 which was alright! Sorry to hear about ur accident bud, hope the truth comes out and u prevail!! :D
