  1. You would be wasting a days money to pay a guy to cut out sections of the car. It would be better to get an idea of what is needed and cut out a bit extra for him to trim it himself. An angle grinder and a few slim metal blades and you're good to go.
  2. Just having a bit of a pointless look around various Ebay's at the moment as I'm a bit bored. Noticed there are a fair number of cars for sale with a big price for what would be a regular sale over here. A few examples- France A very rare Reiger bodied G60 76,000kms http://annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/Corrado-G60-volkswagen/5035187266 A near standard looking VR6 148,000kms http://annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/corrado-vr6/5030898385 1992 1.8 16v Early interior http://annonces.ebay.fr/viewad/CORRADO-VW-16V/5034463458 Germany 2.0 8v http://cgi.ebay.de/VW-Corrado-2-0-8V-sehr-gepflegt-SAMMLERSTUCK-/110709979814?pt=Automobile&hash=item19c6d43aa6 G60 not very standard http://cgi.ebay.de/VW-Corrado-G60-/110713541699?pt=Automobile&hash=item19c70a9443 Obviously I'm not saying all these cars will sell for this much but thought it was interesting people are asking these kinds of prices over in Europe.
  3. Got to have had some of the most exciting races we've had for years. I do feel though some of it is artificially made, as in the tyres dying off so quickly and the DRS system. On the plus side, smart new technology coming along.
  4. Very smart progress here mate, you have to be pleased with things.
  5. Just getting into the business of loom chopping. Think I was over eager and hacked a plug I need, Nath is coming over on thurs to double check. Good job I've bought a soldering iron now :bonk:. Only part way through doing the loom due to not getting much spare time to spend on it. Check out the high levels of concentration
  6. I tried t raise ya momma but couldn't
  7. Don't know this man, never met him before. No Brokeback mountain round these parts :cowboy:
  8. I've got pimpin wind deflectors :shades:
  9. Depending on how badly corroded they are- If bad start with 600 grit Wet & Dry in a bowl of warm soapy water. If they are ok, start with 800 grit and lightly sand all of each dish. Then repeat the process with 1000 grit, 1200 grit and 1500 grit. Once you have finished that and are sick of rubbing, you know you've done enough. They won't look very polished at this stage, don't worry. Get yourself a cutting compound, something like G3. Polish up and clean off. Autosol metal polish is next, polish and clean off. Autoglym metal gives you a nice polished finish. You want to keep them shiny and protect them now, you need to buy Collinite 476 hard wax. 3 coats are the way to go for this I've told. 1st one, leave on for 20mins and rub off. 2nd rub on and leave overnight or 12 hours. 3rd leave for 20 mins and clean off. That is the procedure I did for my wheels and it worked nice and lasts a long time. Others might have completely different ways but there's no single way of getting good results.
  10. I polished my TT Comps upto a mirror finish. When I bought them, they were all white and corroded. Never done anything like that before, very satisfying to do yourself. I've had loads of people ask where did I get them done. Go for it mate.
  11. They didn't look this good in the ebay advert. ---------- Post added at 11:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:55 PM ---------- Don't forget, this is a passenger seat. No wear to that bolster. But it does look fresh to me also. You never know. There is a slight grazing wear to the drivers bolster, I've seen many that are worse though.
  12. Yep, shows how shagged the other seat was, to look so different from this one to question myself :bonk:
  13. Hi Tim, That sounds fair to me mate. PM me your Paypal and I'll shoot the cash over to you. Cheers, Matt.
  14. Hi Andy, How come you're looking to change from the red? They look really smart, is it to go back to standard? What made you not bid on the set I got from ebay? I was surprised to be the only bidder and its in a better condition than I expected. I'm very envious of the gear on your car!
  15. Sorry should have put that the sticker underneath does say Corrado. I'm holding my sleeping baby boy at the moment, once he wakes up I'll get a pic or two. Maybe the first seat I saw was knackered and the bolster worn down out of shape? ---------- Post added at 01:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:36 PM ---------- Here we go, now I've looked at them again, they do look standard. Just differernt from the first lot of seats I looked at. Very happy with the condition of them, will be fitted very soon and the Audi Recaro's going.
  16. Prob still here because of being grey I think. Its harder to sell than black or beige. £400 isn't going to be far from the mark for an interior, I've just bought a mint black interior this week for £400. There aren't lots of people out there buying interiors at the moment. The seller told me he bought it for £800 2 years ago, the going rate then. Its just the economy at the moment affecting buying. Best of luck mate and there is a buyer for you out there or hold onto it if you can until things get better.
  17. Thats how I saw it, standard or Recaro. I must be going mad then. Not told about any repair work, seller said they came out of a low mileage Storm. It is a proper Corrado seat as the VW sticker underneath says so. I'll get a pic as soon as I can. Cheers Karl.
  18. Hi guys, I've been looking at various leather interiors recently to buy. I looked at one that was exactly like I was expecting, a standard leather seat with regular height bolsters etc. But I've just bought an interior that I was told came out of a Storm. Very nice condition but unless my memory was playing tricks on me, the bolsters seemed to be a lot deeper than the other seat. The bolster was almost straight up and square in profile where the other one was really rounded in shape. Sorry for the rambling on, I can get a pic later on for you. I didn't think there was a difference in leather that wasn't a Recaro seat until now, I could well be wrong as normal though!
  19. Hey Karl, With the amount of changes going on here, I won't reconise this car soon enough. Lets have some more pic content on here!
  20. I like the look there mate, very smart. Gives me an idea of how it would look on mine, oh yes please!
  21. Thats the situation with mine, not been driven for a couple months now. Just sat there with a solar trickle charger on the dash. Lost a bit of interest in doing anything with it until this past couple of weeks. Love is back and I see the car as a hobby rather than transport. Does not selling it, just mean you save for the house a little longer or does it stop you from getting the house?
  22. Hi Tim, Did you get a chance to have a go at the scuttles, no worries if not, there's no rush. I will take the wiper arms and blades just to be clear on the thread.
  23. A bit of another update to keep you guys going :thumbleft: The three metal strips are indeed to do with the dimming of the switch light inside the car. And an unexpected result, I asked about getting a sample not thinking it could be possible to get just one BUT they said just send my courior to pick it up from us  . Guess I'll be a guinea pig to try it on my car Keep the interest coming, I'll pm people when we're in a position to proceed and prob start a new proper group buy thread when the time is right.
  24. Hi Kev, What if anything, does going to OBD2 do to the above statement? I think it helps slilghtly on the bottom end. Would there be an increase in power or doesn't it work like that?
