  1. Hi Neal, I've got the Carbon Canister pipework on watch, what would you take for it to send out to me? Or would you prefer the auction to run? Cheers Matt.
  2. It would be worth spending a bit of money and a day travelling whatever mileage is necessary to find the best car for your budget. Agreed with Emu, does seem overpriced for the one you linked. Much better ones around I think. A couple potential good cars out there (maybe)- http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2771712.htm http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C219312 Best of luck finding a good one mate.
  3. Ahh right, good point now you mention it. I've not looked at it for a little while. Cheers.
  4. We need details and pics then. How about doing a review of it?
  5. Hi guys, I've got a steering wheel on ebay if anybody is in need of a replacement or to go back to standard. I forgot to put the link up earlier and there's only 19 hours to go. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Corrado-Polo-Golf-Leather-Steering-Wheel-VR6-GTI-16v-/220801055164?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3368c4b9bc
  6. £21 in the end. Still very cheap considering the splitter could sell for £50-60, grill £15 and bumper itself £25-50. All depending on condition of course but this one did look to be in good condition.
  7. I'm stuffed as I'm so far away from most selling items. Good work on the parcel shelves. 18 mins to go and still £1.12!
  8. Just seen this and its still very cheap, might be useful to someone. Includes the splitter! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Corrado-Vr6-Front-Bumper-/270768068599?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f0b08d7f7
  9. How's that for a spot of luck then mate? http://www.the-corrado.net/classifieds.php?do=viewitem&itemid=588
  10. I would think the pic showing the low stance is the car dropped to give a show look rather than being able to drive it like that. There's no signs of rubbing so looks to be dropped for the pics. I don't think air suits a Corrado as has been said above its a drivers car, it should have a very good adjustable coilover setup on it (would love that for mine!). Edit: Just noticed the white in the engine bay, so could a colour change be hiding any nasties?
  11. I would stick to your idea of the standard VR6, you can make it your own then. The modded one looks good as a show piece but I reckon it would be a nightmare to live with and keep it in that condition.
  12. As I've now bought an old Passat estate for work and family duties, the C hasn't been driven hardly at all. I met up with a new friend who turns out to have been trained by a VW master technician. Very handy to know! I asked him to give my car a look over and see if its healthy or needs anything doing to it. He reported that the engine seemed to be in good nick. I told him about the spongy brakes, almost immediately he found the trouble. The brake compensator just in front of the rear subframe. When I looked at it, it was broken away from the bracket holding it and moving as the brake peddle was being pushed. There is an audible whoosing noise also from it when braking. I picked up all new bracket, bolts, sleeves etc from TPS, they quoted £150 +vat for the compensator. I have found one on ebay, £65 and new but don't know whether its any good or not? Anyone know if its worth trying or stick to TPS? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLF-MK3-GTI-VR6-CORRADO-BRAKE-PRESSURE-REGULATOR-C72-/200574636409?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eb32e1179
  13. Didn't know that mate, I bow to your superior knowledge! Cheers Gaz, wonder why mine's a 90mm one then. 2 other VR's local to me have 90mm's though.
  14. I'm sure mine is original and its 90mm.
  15. I've now got hold of another visor the same as the one I've fitted to mine, if anyone wants it, then pm me and make a nice donation to the forum.
  16. I spoke to a guy and had a look at his F-reg LHD G60 the other week. Said it was a very early 89 with non-sunroof and air-con, heated black leather. In bits at the moment but will be road going by the end of the month, it looks to be in a very good condition with 100k only. Lovely car.
  17. Hey mate, How about selling the head and putting the money towards a bit of a newer design smooth VR? A nice tasty 4motion, not much more power but much more useable and canbe tuned nicely. 204bhp as standard. I've read its an easier conversion than the R32 engine. An example- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vw-mk4-golf-v6-4motion-2-8-engine-63-000-miles-/270765269747?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f0ade22f3
  18. Amazon.co.uk Bought my rear ones from there, £28 for the pair and arrived in a couple of days. Very pleased with the service.
  19. Never been able to come close to Brentacre's prices for me when I've tried them. Brentacre are good as far as mods go.
  20. Should be sorted now by my local TPS.
  21. Many thanks for looking. My friendly TPS came up trumps, the bracket is available and about £6! So bought this and all the bolts, sleeves and spring in this area ready for the new compensator when it comes.
  22. Awesome race once it got going. I was really shouting out for JB to get the win, what a racer he is. The determination he showed couldn't be faulted. Fingers crossed he can catch Vettel, hard task though.
  23. Patience is the key in your search, there are some completely rust free examples out there (mine and 3 local others don't have any rust). You might need to save a bit more money to get as best a condition car as you can. For £2k, you will be in the price bracket that needs work doing to it that could eventually cost more than forking out more in the first place. Best of luck in the search mate.
  24. You sir are a diamond! That does like whats happenned to mine, the two steel bits inside the unit look to be well rusted into the alu. I'll have a look for the unit. Fingers crossed hey!
